- It's time to give the buggies a bash on the woods trails! Yeah! Such a great time with the Old and the New mixed together for better run times, and some reliability.. but still using the old engineering on the chassis. Get out there and have some RC fun!

Hey they still sell that car anyways you can get new parts for that if you needed of them.
In 1984 I was 16 and had my first solo train ride to a hobby shop on the other side of town. I bought a Tamiya Grasshopper with money I had saved from my Sheetmetal apprenticeship. In that shop they had a Super Champ on the shelf but that was way out of my budget. Last week I ordered the Fighting Buggy so I'm so excited to finally get my dream old school buggy after all those years. Thank you for the flash back. Love Dana's driving stance, Haha!
Oh man, you're going to get stuck in the mud with this one! And back to the Tamiya trough in no time! hahaha They are really fun builds!
I think you can find a better LiPo battery to fit that better.
RWD gold.
Great stuff guys! Just pure fun! That's what it was all about back then! I raced a Frog at my local club on Sunday's back in the day! I don't still have that original Frog now(shame) but do still have a Frog in my collection its rere and love the thing! Boy what a classic the Frog was and still is to this day! With all the awesome crazy modern stuff around today its great to see you two guys out having a hoot with two old classics from the golden era!😎👍
Sounds great! Keep all your old ones for sure! The Frog really rips, way more than I remember it doing when I was a kid! The brushed motor in there helps too!
@@GCMRacing1 😎👍
was anyone else waiting for the Epic Slow mo jump shots? i know i was. great video guys!
Next time! Thanks for the comment!
My first car was a hornet that was a hobby car you should see the videos I just did of it one just recently and what motor does he have on his frog?
Its a vintage reedy motor of some kind. Don't know what the spec is.
Hey Chris,
I have the Turbo Scorpion and the Scorpion and I have issues with the dog bones popping out. Any suggestions?
Same. After I jumped it a bunch of times, It turns out the rear triangle plates bend.. where the lower rear arms are pinned through.. they bend, and then the toe changes on the rear arms, so the dogbones fall out then... it's a simple fix, just take it off and re-flatten it completely to stock form, and then put it back together. It's been fine for a couple of years now, and I stopped sending it over 6 feet high HAHAHA
Thanks! I ordered the optional full ones to see how they work.
back to the childhood :D
Wow very nice👍🏼
Thank you! Cheers!
Which one do you think is a better buy?
I like the suspension and tech engineered into the Kyosho, it's a robust kit and designed to perform. Oddly the Frog is super simple, tons of plastic, and almost beats everything every time.. and it's less money.. so... Man the Frog is tough to beat in almost every category that matters. Fun and cheap and fast and handles not bad!
@@GCMRacing1 Cool. Thanks.
Chris I hope you get a new rim for that turbo scorpion.
Ordered a couple of sets yeah.
I had most of the Tamiya cars as my dad was a distributor in the late 80s and early 90s and there's a reason why we moved on from these types of platforms
Hey Chris I hope you'll join us this Thursday and the turbo scorpion I know the scorpion with a torque tune motor from from tamiya will do 25 MPH.
It's a bummer to see y'all are so miserable and not having any fun... lol
We have come a long way....lol
Nothing caught on fire! It was great!
Great video.. I never had those buggys. Looks like a lot of fun. My 1st was a radio shack special that looked like them . Golden Arrow maybe
Very cool, I had a couple of Radio Shack and Tyco? varieties as well!
There is just something about the sound of those old tires on the ground. lol Great fun guys
These are unique for sure! What a great time!
You got to have some fun between work man ! awesome
You got that right!
Two awesome buggies out in the woods 👍
