Great set of irons and one of my biggest regrets selling mine feel is like butter. Great videos and reviews

I've watched your vids a while now, my go to reviews... But like that has been said, let's have some on course veiws, so easy to listen too and a watchable 👍
the first club you tested looks like the ping eye, that was my first set and I still have them, at the time tour pro's were using this club because of it's distance and forgiveness
You should try their wedges, think they are the best for sale, loads of copper so feel amazing...my summer set are raf-w 5s....so few people know about them...
Would you say MP20 mb feel just as good or better than Muira or Vega? I have MP20 mb as well, i just haven't got a chance to compare it with Muira or Vega.
I made 75 sets of blades from S25 carbon. Vega is the only brand I know that has done this other than myself. When it comes to feel this guy isn't lying. This is why I named my iron S2FIVES... there's nothing like S25 steel for irons
I've seen this in several other Japanese irons that I've looked into - somewhat stronger lofts even in the cavity back/players irons and a lot more options for steel shafts in the sub 90g range. I love Nippon 850GH and the Zelos 8, and they're almost never offered in the major OEM irons. These two things seem to be what a lot of Japanese buyers are looking for. I just wish they weren't quite so pricey. But then, you do get outstanding quality.
Always awesome reviews and demonstrates at a swing speed and spin rate many golfers relate directly to so invaluable insight and very trusted reviews. Two reviews praising VEGA now from MNG and AVG, compelling product for sure.
I've been playing vega vm-02 since 2010. Got fitted for vmb and they feel so much softer. But limited options of shafts available now as had project x in vm-02. Best irons in the world in my opinion though
The best iron I ever hit was a Tommy Armour 845s Titanium face 9 iron with G-force 3.3 Regular flex graphite shaft. They still have never been able to design a better golf iron in 25 years, not Ping, not Callaway, not Titliest, not Taylormade, not any of the manufacturers.
That second club reminds me of my Tommy Armour 845c Silverback clubs. They are the best clubs I have ever hit. Paid $20.00 for them. My $550.00 Callaway's don't get touched by me any more. When family comes down I pretend to be a nice guy and let them use the newer Callaway's while I use these old Tommy Amour clubs I picked up in a garage sale. Surprisingly not a one of them has wondered why I have the new clubs in the older golf bag. What's even more surprising is my wife hasn't ratted me out.
@@MichaelNewtonGolf I'm a headphone user, and most of the time only have 1 headphone in. I could really notice the difference between channels. Glad you got it fixed, and very jealous that you got to hit those Vega's! 😍
I had a set of Vega about 4 years ago and absolutely loved them. But trying to sell them on was a real issue. Purely because loads a people don't know the brand and you can buy 2nd hand now for wallies!! But with regards to feel, there up there with miura irons I'd say.
@tx1iron Because I bought a combo set 2nd hand but the wierd thing was they had the blades at the top end of the bag 4 5 6 7 then I ended up out for a while due to injury and one thing or another. Blades going back weren't for me. But the 01 cavity irons were unreal. I watched another video where he had the 03 and the 05 in the long irons. Now that's something I'd definitely go back to. Even buying 2nd hand because these very expensive clubs and mega cheap after a few years. Amazing club imo too.
Michael, I noticed that even though the 7 iron is a slightly stronger loft, the carry distance is somewhat less than normal for you. Is that the club or is it because it was colder the day you tested them?
Heard of them but never hit them. When I was fitted for my Miura’s, my master builder said they were constrained, this was long before pandemic. I’m not sure I would like the chunky top line of VDC, certainly not as appealing as my Miura’s. You didn’t mention the blade sizes, do they change in heel-toe length between models? How are they in blade length compared to your Wilson’s or a similar type forging from Mizuno or Miura? Can you order with more traditional lofts? Certainly as a forging you could bend the lofts but then we’re adding a similar amount of bounce which could impact turn interaction. I also found the loft gapping strange, wondering if you hit more than the 7 and did you have irregular carry gapping? PW-8 is 5* then balance is just 3*, just sounds like recipe for poor gapping. Maybe I’m just to old and inflexible in my thinking. My Miura’s are 28*-48* 5-PW in 4* intervals. My 4-iron is 25 and I carry 19 & 22* utilities. My gapping is 12-15yds on full swing but I can also go up 1 club on a knockdown swing into wind if I need that shot. Could I hit say the Vega VMB 8-iron 150 into wind if I’m worried a full 9 may balloon? A 7 knockdown same distance as 8? Just curious if you demoed full set and what you thought of these unique loft progressions.
Why does the VSC's look like the old Ben Hogan BH--5's and then the later Maltby TE Forged? I would expect an iron with that price tag to not have a 20+ year old design.
Only 9 degrees difference in loft between the 5 and 8 irons and then 10 degrees between the 8 and PW. I'm sure they feel great but those are probably not going to gap right.
For £1474 for 7 irons with shimada shafts. That sounds like a lot for a set of titleist or TMs which are just as good for £400 less. I would buy a set on eBay first before buying new. Glad you are reviewing away from mainstream.
hi Colin - can you recommend a set of irons and a driver and a putter that are reasonably priced for someone like myself i.e. who has 6 par holes and 6 bad holes (triple bogey +) and 6 (1 to 2 over par) not so bad holes every round - playing around 20 rounds per year? I've got an old budget set of wilsons (1200's i think they are called) currently and wondering if an investment in a better quality would make any improvments or is it a case of playing/practising more and the clubs don't really make too much difference for a late 80's to late 90's per round player?
@@fgs7407 always difficult to recommend. I’ll give it a go. Driver. The TS2 driver with a tensei blue shaft. Irons go pw to 5 only. I would go with Mizuno jpx line. The project x shaft range at 5.5.
