Sweet build!!.. I love seeing a father and son doing things like this these days. Its rare and a great bonding experience. Keep up the good work yall!!
Seth M Thank you sir for kind words of support and glad that you liked our build. Hopefully, when my kid grows up he will fondly remember all the effort we invested into our projects. Cheers mate.
Very nice build! I too am building one, and using a steel tractor seat, (with custom pad and backrest) and a 125cc manual 4-sp engine (didn't come with electric start! Boo!) and I am also mounting the engine in the front frame, BUT, I am also mounting a 212cc Predator engine in the rear for a booster engine (when necessary) as this Trike will be a country back roads traveler, and will have larger trear wheels like a 4-wheeler in the back, and a large chopper style front multi-spoke wheel in the front! Yea OK so it's a kids Big Wheel on steroids! But hey I'm a 68 yr old kid, so what do ya expect! Vrooom-Vrooom-Vrooooom! Jus practicin'!
Bom dia, Estou montando um para dois lugares, para passear com minha filha. Gostaria da sua opinião, nesse caso é melhor por o motor na frente do quadro ou na traseira.
I love the fact it was a Father and Son project !! Neither of you will ever forget that quality time together. You did a good job Building it and it looks like it was a lot of fun to ride. I’m proud of you. I’m curious to know a total price of the project and I would like to know what brand of motor and wheels (parts breakdown) and where you purchased them at, I would like to duplicate the build with my son.
Hi Mark Indeed, it was a lot of fun building this project with my kid and I hope that in retrospect he will appreciate all the quality time we spent together on all of our builds. This particular drift trike came out really cheap for us because we owned a pit bike and a go kart. Yanked the motor from the pit bike and stole the axle with wheels from the go kart just to make this project. After we had our fun with this trike, we disassembled it and installed everything back on the pit bike and go kart. Things that we had to purchase are piping for the frame, seat, front tire, gas tank and exhaust pipe. Roughly speaking we spent around 200 for entire thing (not including child labor lol) To build something like this from scratch you’re looking to spend anywhere between $800 to $1500 depending on how fancy you want to make this thing. To be honest with you go karts are so much better in every category than this trike. Good luck with your project and let us know how it turns out. BTW engine we used is a 125cc SSR fully auto. Cheers.

Man that is great & your kid is a drift pro already👍 good job man i think that im going to build one of this thing's with my 14 yrs old son!.. Well I'll try.
The trike looks awesome! That just don’t seem like enough motor for all that metal and that motorcycle wheel. I’m a big guy, so I decided to use a 140cc.
Collin Blake Lol yeah this trike is kinda heavy but it was made for kids so I guess 125cc is more than enough to have some fun. Good luck with your project and let us know how it turned out. Cheers.
Glad you think so Tim. Kids nowadays are used to buying things instead of making something unique. I hope my kid will appreciate all the quality time we spent together and all the projects we’ve built. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers.
Oh my God,,, Where is your face shield when using the grinder??? Safety first... Oh, this is a drift trike build, gotta be living on the edge,,,, Hang 5.....At 2:33 the word for the day is "CONTRAPTION"... At the end of the day the word is THANKS.... THANKS DAD, THIS IS BADASS, ooops,,,,sorry for cussin...
Byron Guevara Sweet spots as in good places to ride a go kart or trike? We usually use google maps satellite view to scope out sweet spots to ride. I’m sure you’ll find empty parking lots in your area. Good luck.
LOL no sorry, should have been more specific. On minute 03:01 I believe you say "I found a sweet spot for the wheel" or maybe it was ''a swing spot'' for the wheel. Which I am assuming it has something to do with the balance of the wheel or its rotation? Again when you found a ''sweet spot'' and welded the hangers to the frame on minute 05:17; Im thinking its what you meant for the distance between the hangers and the engine. Thank you for the Reply.
Excellent work, my son was encouraged watching you and your son working together. can you share where can I find the engine? and the size of front wheel?
joel silva Glad you guys were inspired by our video. The front tire is from a Harley Davidson bike. Size is 130/90-16. The motor can be found on eBay or amazon for around $250-350. Thanks for watching and commenting. Happy new year.
Xile 420 Lol it sure is but sometimes security officers comes by and tells us to take a hike. By that time we have recorded plenty of footage for one good video. Thanks for watching and commenting.
balabay77 yeah they usually do the same thing to me whenever I'm over there too... I think they're bored and we're their only entertainment 😂 nice build by the way 👍
What I can't figure out is why are there 2,700 thumbs down on a video as outstanding as this one. It is just bewildering. I see it all over youtube. What do people gain by doing that?
José José Indeed it was a team effort. I hope he will appreciate all the quality time we spent together when he grows up. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hello Brian B I really don’t know what my rake angle was because I didn’t measure it but my goal was to get the front wheel as close to the frame as possible without rubbing on the frame. Our previous trike rake angle was awkward and the front wheel was sticking out too far so this time I made it much closer to the frame. If you’re planning on installing pegs on the front wheel than you’ll need to play it by ear. Good luck
Rizzler Thank you sir it means a lot to me. Glad that viewers like you inspire us to build more projects. Looking forward to making more cool videos. Cheers.
Nice job I like it so much. Just Charing my point of view needs to stretch the leg handles a bit and some additional security to the chain close to the hand brake. The front wheel sounds a bit huge compared to the size of the project, but this is my point of view nothing else. Congratulations
have you tried it without the sleeves on the rear wheels? the weight/ body position/ wide axle etc should allow drifting even with bare tyres? im thinking of building on with a front hub motor or designing a front wheel (shaft) drive system to avoid mangling your legs in the chain- this would allow drift 'sleeves' on the rear but perfect drive from the front rubber tyre
Yes we tried without the sleeves and it doesn't drift at all. it will only drift without the sleeves if the speed was over 30 miles per hour but that would be unsafe to drift. As far as the chain goes, the legs are nowhere near the chain so theres no way they can get mangled unless deliberately inserted. When you get done with your trike send us a link, would love to check it out. Cheers mate.
Chain guard is a must have, as important as the helmet. Know a guy that mangled his thumb in a chain/sprocket accident. Saw a girl get her long hair in an axle on a go-kart.Not pretty

The monotonous, deadpan narration is just perfect. You're obviously into it, but couldn't sound more bored in the project. Very nice job.

I think if you split the axle and take the pvc off it would be fun to just cruise around
It will be pretty hard to distribute the power cause it will need a differential
@NuBz he literally said if u split the axle...
I took the key out of the off sprocket side and after some learning to handle the hard push to the right its a blast
