After so many videos I have watched now the first time I figured out and understand how the truck's 10 gears have to be shifted. thank you my friend!. you are a great instructor.
This is Very Very helpful. Way more informative, than what I am currently getting from my instructor. I think I going to give him the link to your videos...lol. I'm Serious.
excellent instruction, I have one question though,, when you want to go from 5th gear to 6th gear, you flip the splitter while in 5th gear.I thought the splitter only communicates to the shifting if it is in Neueral only ,but you use the splitter while you are still in gear 5th. What am I missing here?
Hey there, JJ. While floating gears can be a valuable skill to know, it is not allowed on the CDL road test. We want to ensure our students have every reason to pass their road test.
If one is going to consider learning to drive a truck. Honestly just buy an OLD FLD 120 and learn on that. Not every transmission will allow you to shift at 15, 25, 35, etc. some are geared very strange and it doesn't help when eaton makes a million different transmission configurations. Part of learning to shift these trucks is driving them on back roads in the country. Learning the simulator is nothing compared to the stress of actual road driving.
I keep hearing a grinding noise when he goes from 5th to 6. is that because he forgetting the T bar switch before he tries to go into it so it’s thinking it’s first gear and not 6th…..
Bro I love your vids but I get the shifting part but if you could focus the camera on your legs that would awesome bc that's what I'm having trouble with also can you do some heel toe downshifting as well please!
@@CDLDrivingAcademy wish I could. I am currently out on the road right now though. Maybe someday you would let me come try that machine and talk to your classes about being on the road. Keep train good drivers, we need them out here.
Upshifting doesn't have to be done when you want to go faster but can also be done if the terrain allow's you to maintain speed with a higher gear and lower rpm. I suggest you learn profressive shifting. This is, shifting from the gear you are in to the nexr highest possible gear at the lowest rpm. You have a long way to go to be a trainer bro. I have watched many of your videos and you are far off. There are so many guys posting these videos. Try learning firstly.

The best way of teaching.
God bless you.

The splitter communicates that when it slides across N to get to 6th.
The splitter communicates when you slide past N to 6th.
In other words, you dont have to be in N to use the splitter; the next time it slides past N, the splitter will trigger high gears.
To be clear, hitting the splitter while in 5th means you are still in 5th until after the shift.
Very educative but can I start the engine and moved the track straight away?
Mr.instructor have u ever had a student that didnt never get it?
Good instructor thank you bro💯
Hi, thank you for the video. I have a question: where can we buy the simulator you are using? Thanks.
Very nice! What simulator is that?
Thanks I appreciate.
Super
Do you not teach floating the gears? If no or yes, what is the reasoning. New trucker here.

They captions on this video is only in Spanish for some reason can you please add English subtitles for me please. It only allows Spanish right now
What if you forget what gear you in can you just go all the way back to 1 gear
Thanks alot
Your welcome
Good video thank you
Why did you pull the parking brake in 10th gear? That is a huge no no
Clutch clutch gas..I get it 👍
Falta subtitulos en español, por favor. Excelente el curso, gracias

I tried this method yesterday in a kw 10spd it didn’t work the gear grinded everytime it only went in gear around 1500rpm why is that
Driving Academy ok I think it’s because I was floating the gears
What about is you do not use the clutch still 1600 rpm?
How much for classes?
Hi Justin- we have courses ranging from $1,000-$4,000. Give us a call for more info at 908.525.3609
clutch to neutral chug a beer gas up to 16 hundred rmps

My rpms move faster than this and I have a hard time trying to catch it. How do I find my timing
Best advice is focus more on the RPMs. dont focus as much on other things inside the truck
Don’t double clutch if your rpms are fast it’s easier to float gears at 1600 rpms
Can we use that method on 18 speed as well any knows plz reply 🙏
My mistake is when I'm driving I never pay attention to my RPM
HJL JR me either you are not alone

Yes it does!
@@CDLDrivingAcademy thank you...does this apply the same speed your doing it. For example, the clutch part do you do it that fast or is it a smooth
i want driving academy school new j
I wish I could try one of those simulator things. See if I can float on it like I do in my 13 speed.
