I was like you. As a professional designer, I resisted using Canva. Now, I’ve jumped on the Canva bandwagon when I see all of the useful things you can do with it such as designing for POD. You take it to the next level with your tasteful, classy design style. So glad I found your UA-cam channel!
Glad to have you here! And thank you! 😊 Canva definitely has its limitations, but I still think it's way more powerful than a lot of people give it credit for.
Glad you found it interesting. There is definitely still a lot of resistance I think...but it comes from creatives and artists being undervalued in my opinion, so I totally get it. But I don't agree with it 😜
Thank you for sharing your story; I learn lots from you. In my opinion it doesn't matter what tool you use if you're the expert/proffessional, and you are crème de la crème.
Hi Wayne! "stumbled" on your channel last night and binge watched just about all! Love your content, your style and appreciate you putting your knowledge out there for us plebs to learn and improve :) :) :) Great to see an Aussie as well! Ps/ This one shows your integrity. Dogmatic thinking keeps us stuck and limits optionality as you stated, doing the opposite to the "herd" is never easy - good for you!
Thanks Deb! That's really kind of you! 😊 I am actually South African born, but after most of my life in the UK my accent is a little...um...all over lol. 🤣
New sub, watching your videos from the start, and for similar reasons I have avoided using Canva, but like you found Adobe not much more or better. Thank you for pointing out that it IS better to be collaborative!!!
Welcome! 😁 I still use some adobe products, but I love discovering what possible with Canva. And it makes things really easy for my clients and students too! Glad to have you here! 🖤
Hey Matt - There are a number of sources used, but the main ones are from: Stanford University Research; A report called Trust and mistrust of online sites available on Research Gate; and A McKinsey Report called The Business Value of Design. If you search for the stats and the statements you can easily find the exact sources if that's helpful.
@@createdbywayne Thanks Wayne! I want to present these stats to a company that I'm overseeing the design and branding for to help them understand the importance of good design.
Hi Wayne - UA-cam fed me your channel this morning, I've never seen or heard of you beforehand. "Creating Trending Reels in Instagram" pulled me in to the first video from your channel. I'd been struggling to sort out an effective way for client creations of reels and instantly had a solution from your training. Loved the sequential creative process, the detail and pace of your dialog. Your quiet confidence radiates experience and your checklist proved you are methodical and focused teacher. Our group has a creative director who has deep experience is fine art. She senses life differently than the rest of us. She's got a good eye for what looks good and what doesn't. She's sold over $750,000.00 of her oil paintings. You, sir are just as talented but in an entirely different way... more graphic and methodical. I've spent most of today, consuming your videos and taking notes. This specific video, about Canva itself cemented my confidence in your talent and client compassion. I look forward to learning more and working with you henceforth.
Thank you SO much Blaine! 😊 I really appreciate you taking the time to leave such a lovely message - and I'm glad you are enjoying the content. Thanks again - and welcome! 😁

I was always curious how “real designers” felt about tools like Canva. I found this so interesting….and quite unexpected. Thank you!
