Damn, wish I could fade like that! I’ve been watching DIY Fade videos since Covid & I’m getting a little better ( I always have trouble doing the back of my own head ) but I tend to have trouble with the blending process of the lines. Any tips?

Great video...To help you out with the Focusing issue. Try not to have the Aperture of the lens completely wide open, it will cause the camera to hunt more since is a more "Shallow Depth of field"
since you can control the lighting in your new spot try shooting with a F4, the background of the video will not be as blurry but will definitely help having everything in focus, As well in settings try to have the focus point grouped towards the center since thats how your videos are normally framed.

What camera and lense do you use?
Would the fade still look good if u set the guideline straight back? How do u decide when to curve the guideline? Is there a purpose or personal preference?
Yah for sure it’s preference. The purpose is because I feel like dropping it in the back gives the fade more of a custom look that fits the clients head shape.

Instead of the .5 would the 0 guard do the same work?
So I did a self cut yesterday and I got these bumps on the back of my head. They kinda burn. I clean my clipper/trimmer/& shaver with cool care spray. I think it might have been the andis shavers, maybe I applied a lot of pressure but it hasn’t happened before. I think they are razor burn or ingrown hairs. How can I cure?
After you cut put aftershave on you to prevent it or help prevent it
If you have curly hair it will be because of the shavers, I’m not an expert but from what I know the best thing to do is clean the area to prevent infection and let your hair grow out, after that stop using the shavers or you’ll get them again

since you helping me learning how to cut ima help you fix that auto focus problem ima photographer/filmer, your F stop (aperture) is way to low you need to bump it up, your prob on F1.2-3, bumo it up a lil higher and everytime you hop in front of the camera it won't loose its focus, keep expiremnting which number is best for you but it's defiantly way to low which is the reason why your having that prob bro
