Looks great! I'm following! but one feature I find a must have is being able to select the target per tower. For example one tower focuses on the strong enemies. Another focuses on the furthest enemies, and a third on the weakest enemy. That way you can make sure no 10 enemys reach the end with health at the minimum.

That's something I thought about at length too. I am leaning towards making the tower upgrade system non-linear, instead a sort of tree system. "Targeting module" could be one of the upgrades available for all towers. By default towers would have some reasonable targeting based on their type, e.g. laser could target lowest health enemy by default, since it fires quickly. If you want to change the default targeting, you have to pay for the upgrade. I think it would prevent a ton of unnecessary micromanagmenet of targeting on every single tower and add depth to the currency economy.

Love seeing this... you're working on my personal dream project... to build a mazing pure TD game. :)

This is fantastic! I am about to start learning Godot, and I also wanted to make something like my dream tower defense game, but with a resource gathering base building aspect. Your video really helped me to see some of what will be involved and makes it seem less daunting and more interesting. Thank you!

Thanks for sharing your process and experience. TD games are great. There's still plenty of room in my opinion for them to have expanded mechanics. Keep it up if you are enjoying it.

Looks great! I have also been looking for a good TD for a while. Can't wait to try this 😀
Do you plan to release this only on pc or mobile (android) as well?

I'm primarily going for desktop as the target platform. But never say never, as in the case of TD, all that woupd have to be re-done is just the UI, to make the elemenets big enough for touch and small screens. :)

I loved Defence Grid back in the days, but i think this not what you are looking for, since most Tower placements is limited depending on the map.
There are still TD Games today, but most of them sucks or are asset flips. Maybe it's just me, but i actually donÄt like that if a TD Game is filled with "Magic" Attacks if your Towers are to weak or missplaced. It felt most time, not playing a TD Game, more a "place a bomb and hit the enemy" Type Game.
Today we have Bloons TD, which has alot Games. Sadly it's way to much enemy spam imo.

You can save a lot of processing-power at the navigation-agent, if you calculate the path only once for the first enemy, that spawns and then save the calculated points in a dictionary. So the next enemies can just check their own positions and then the next one from the dictionary instead of using a navigation-agent for every enemy.
in the process-function you need then only a simple position += dir * speed * delta and the dir-variable is then the calculated vector2 to the next position.

    Never played Bloons TD6?

I know it's a heresy to say this, but Bloons were never my favorite. It's a really good TD, but I never stayed with it for too long. :)

BTD6 is good but it dose not allow you to place down towers anywhere. Only is pre determined locations. Same type of game different play style.
