You're amazing Jonas! These devlogs are a wonderful look into indie dev, and a huge inspiration for people like me who love gaming and also dream of creating their own experiences. I'm trying to learn Unreal as a solo dev, and although It's always hard and often confusing, videos like yours drive my passion even further, and I'm very grateful for that. Huge W game and channel, I can't wait to see what new projects and ideas you come up with! Personally, I'd love to see you take a simple PvP multiplayer game and really dive into how you solved all the intricate networking / programming quirks of multiplayer. Anyway, much love, respect, and admiration - a happy fan and hopefully one day, peer :)
Jonas has the nicest way of editing his videos the perfect balance between life, humor and game development is perfect the only thing I wish for is that the moments of life to breathe a bit more. But I get that's not for everyone.
I really admire how honest this devlog is, and its really nice to see how healthy your approach towards your work and hobbies is. I hope you enjoy your break, and congratulations on everything. You're a huge insipiration for a lot of people
I just wanted to come in here and congratulate you on the completion of Thronefall! Thank you for the motivation you bring. You were part of what inspired me to start game development, and now my first Steam game is releasing in 2 months!
Congrats on 1.0! It's been an absolute blast following along with this adventure. You guys can be incredibly proud of what you've achieved. Enjoy a well-deserved break, I'm excited to see what will come next!
Jonas, when you started this dev vlog series, I was doing my little side project to have a better portfolio to look for a programming job. I got inspired in some of the things you implemented in thronefall. Today, we are 10 people working on that little project. It has become a monster of a project (and maybe should reconsider the scope...) and I can't really thank you enough for making these videos and being part of this devlog series along with the already awesome game you created. I wish you all the success in your future endeavours. You totally deserve it. The more I spend time with my current game, the more I respect your work. Making games is hard and only people who have tried really understands the true weight of this statement. Keep being awesome!
Cooperating in bigger teams is also a massive challenge so let me just tip my hat back at'ya! Happy to hear you found some inspiration in my work. Much appreciated!! :)
i love how there is a lot of the style of the older videos in this one. makes it actualy nostalgic in a way. also remindet me how i first came across Jonas old german channel and then also wanted to start making games
Can't wait for your next project. Your fresh Ideas are so interesting to me. But for now enjoy your well deserved break while I enjoy your well made game😊
Enjoy your break! Some words of gratitude: For me your channel is the most valuable game design resource out there - I know of no other indie game dev channel with a better track record of creating successful games that rely on fun gameplay. This really backs up your insights. I also appreciate your calm and honest vibe, it makes the points you make that much more valuable. :)
SO PROUD FOR YOU! I just want you to know that you've got me into game dev and now I have a community of over 1000 people supporting my journey. Thank you so much, can't wait for the next adventure :)
Yay I love these! And I loved the recent stream. Thank you for being an inspiration! Mark my words I will make a hit game using the strategies you outline in your videos. Cheers!
Jonas, I've been watching your channel for a long time now and you inspired me to start my own game dev journey some time ago. I even took part in the Wowie! Jam 3.0 (btw, when's the next one? 🥺) and built my first "real" game ever. Seeing you like this, happy to have finished another project, makes me really happy too. Take a break, enjoy life and once recharged, come back stronger than ever ♥
You've been a major inspiration to me starting my own journey. Take whatever time you need, but looking forward to following whatever project you undertake next!
I really enjoyed this style of video, very calming yet engaging anyway! I hope you do another video talking about how your game launch went, would be very interesting to hear about different it was first launching it as early access, how much you did for marketing, split profits and such. The one about WYS is one of my favourite videos you've made, and this time it seems that your game was even more of a success! Anyway, enjoy your break-you deserve it. I'll be looking forward to whenever you come back for another adventure! 💛
I just discovered and purchased Thronefall yesterday. There have been a few games throughout the last decade that've been stark reminders. Proof that passionate developers who take pride in their work strive for quality do still exist. Thronefall is fantastic and certainly earned its place on that list. Thank you for crafting such a wonderful game.
Hey, Jonas. I'm a solo dev who's struggling to keep up with my games and consistently creating devlogs (on another channel) because of time constraints, and seeing this final devlog made me inspired to work on my games so that I can build an audience and following just like yours. Keep up the good work, Jonas.
What a beautiful send off to a wonderful devlog and game. I'm beyond stoked for you after watching your work for years and years now. May your next adventure bring you all the good fortune you could hope for, thanks for the journey, Jonas!
when i was starting out doing coding, i found your 2nd will you snail video and i was like "That is so cool" and started to motivate me to make more! Thx for sticking around for me to keep going :)
Hi Jonas, I just want to say that I've really enjoyed following this development, and it has inspired me to take on this journey for myself (with zero exp). I purchased the game a while back and will have to now pick it up and play it! I'm sure it will be a blast; I look forward to your future developments.
I started watching this guy back in 2020 during pandemic which motivated me to go with game dev and programming albeit as a hobby. Although life’s been busy with uni and other stuff lately but still it’s good to see Jonas making new videos and projects take me back in that time.
Three years??? Last I remember, WYS came out 2 years ago and the first devlog was 1 year ago, has this rlly been in the works for so long??? I like this game even more lmao
9:19 - 12:27 felt like a "Will you Snail" dev log in the good old days. 😍 But I probably shouldn't have that kind of attachement to a random channel on UA-cam. Also loved the rest of the video because it kind of resonates with me in my current state in life. Alles Gute. ❤
I don't want the development to end 😭 If only there was a level creator/editor toolkit the community can have and go crazy with, that would be the greatest parting gift all Thronefallers would love.
0:37 - Oh my, I am sititing EXACTLY like this right now as I am watching this, I do it with the left foot though. Glad people also do weird poses sometimes. Anyway, congratulations! 🥳🎉
Very random, but thanks a ton for sharing your YT stats. It made me feel a lot better about my channel, which I've neglected over the past months. "SO let's just not do that" regarding fulltime YT is also a great statement. I decided to look at it like that as well. Good luck with the rest of the year and enjoy your break
Didn't know you made thronefall.. great effort, very nice game, congratz... !!!A collosal success for an indie!!!! I bought that game few months ago for the reference and the feel :) and I liked it... Fellow dev here, congrats once again.
I feel like the uniqueness of the video makes it more interesting for me to watch. It's not some high story paced mrbeast video but I know the person, I'm interested about the development and video is not linear. I guess it's that approach you make when making videos, doing 10 seconds then doing another 10 seconds instead of writing a script for the whole video then recording the whole video. Every minute offers me something new.
10:05 What a great thing to do right after releasing a game! Surely no critical bugs and other issues will be found in the next year and, of course, you won't be bullied into making another level editor.
Remember when you had a couple hundred subs and made game with Blackthornprod for the 2019 GMTK game jam? Now you have 2 hit games and 2 with a strong community. It's insane.
Ever since I started watching your channel you have been my role model, a guy from Europe just like me who doesn't know a lot about all the business side of game dev and just wants to make games every day because he loves it

Thanks for all the support y'all! It was a pleasure.

It really has been. See you out there.
Take as much time as you need; you deserve the break. Well done--with everything.

My friends and I hoped you would release a multiplayer feature, but I'm glad you did it.😆
Jonas has the nicest way of editing his videos the perfect balance between life, humor and game development is perfect the only thing I wish for is that the moments of life to breathe a bit more. But I get that's not for everyone.
You might be interested in Thinmatrix. His videos have the absolute chillest vibes of him cooking, watering plants, going for walks with his dog, etc
Yeah, I think you are right. It takes a lot of courage to let something breathe cause if it's poorly executed half of your audience is gone. Haha. :D
@@JonasTyroller true true
He has good vids but, he's lacking Jonas' humor and charm
I really admire how honest this devlog is, and its really nice to see how healthy your approach towards your work and hobbies is. I hope you enjoy your break, and congratulations on everything. You're a huge insipiration for a lot of people

Congrats bro. You are a huge inspiration!
Congrats on the release! 🎉

Overwhelmingly Positive reviews, Jonas!! I'm so happy for you!!!
Nearly 15k reviews on the day of release. Friggin' amazing work.

You two are absolute legends!!
Bro definitely cooking something up behind the scenes.
Man what a journey! One of the best cards game ever!
Can't wait for your next project. Your fresh Ideas are so interesting to me. But for now enjoy your well deserved break while I enjoy your well made game😊
Also I wanna add: I played the game last when it was a demo on steam. It was already great back then but it improved soo much, great job🎉
Another chapter closed, another project completed.
Congrats, Jonas. Your perseverance inspires everyone to finish their own passion projects.
From Devlog 0 to This one, can't believe it's been three years, Congrats and see you in the next one Jonas!

Favorite game! Followed this dev log before the game was released. This motivated me begin developing my game, though with less progress than yours.
Been following this project from the beginning and it’s incredible how far its come. Super inspiring and amazing work!

Very simple
"Final" This is so saaad. I've been rewatching these every now and then. Love the Thronefall devlog so much. :D
Everything has a beginning and an end. Alpha and omega.
@@JonasTyroller Will there be a devlog even for the next title/s perhaps? :D
I'd honestly even pay for it. It's both educational and entertaining.
This video was awesome! It fills me with hope as I keep working on my own game. Thank you
Can't wait to make a devlog of my own like this, years from now. Congrats on 1.0, Jonas.
ive been here since the first devlog and its crazy to see the amount of progress u put into developing the game, congrats on the release jonas!
Beautiful journey! Its crazy how far you have come! Hope you get some well deserved rest!
You're easily the best game dev UA-camr out there. It's been awesome following this journey.
Congrats on the release! Your hard work and resulting success are such an inspiration.
0:38 I too sit at my desk like that... RIP our backs
A wise person once told me: The best position to sit is always the next (the more you move the better)
I sit like that too😅
As Jonas said, the position doesn't matter as long as you're comfortable and change it
Congrats on making it to the end!
You're a big inspiration for me!
Congratulations Jonas! It was a joy to follow your development journey from start to finish.
Wow what a great devlog journey from start to the end. Good job (:
I like the "people kept doing what we dont like, so we decided to literally pay them not to" lol. Genius!
Congrats on the launch! I can't wait to see your next project! 💪
Congrats on the 1.0 release 🎉🎉
