Hello Future Me do screaming death against the red death
Based on what weve seen with other dragons, its fair to assume the timberjack is fireproof. Its also bigger, and the typhoomerang isnt bladeproof. Plus the timberjack seems to spit ignited oil, which can stick to the typhoomerangs face and blind it, while the typhoomerang breaths a tornado of fire, so the timberjack could fly through and slice the typhoomerang in two pieces.

I'd say that the Timebrjack's defense would be enough to stave off the Typhoomerang, although if the fight were to happen in an eel-infested area, the Typhoomerang would have a nigh-limitless shot count, so it all kind of falls onto what the weather's like.

I dont think you're right beacuse dragon skin and trees are not nearly like each other, I mean the typhommerang has a defense of 12 and The Timberjack only has 10 and if the typhommerang can unleash it furious and relentless attack on the timberjack it is probably the end of that dragon and as they are very like each other they are probably natural enemies wich would prove that they possibly learned how the ither one attack but the typhommerang is probably so furious that it want no other thing then to kill it's natural enemie and will follow it down to the forest were the timberjack ends the typhommerang.

I'm gonna present my thought on the Timberjack maybe winning.
1: Its basically a flying guillotine. It can "cut through the thickest tree without slowing flight". If they got the first go they'd probably win. Especially since there's a lot of dragons with pencil thin necks not to mention the poor wings of other dragons. Toothless lost his tail fin so easily I'm guessing a Timberjack is great at permanently grounding any dragon with large wings.
A downed dragon is a dead dragon after all.
2: "They fold their wings like a tent and will protect themselves and their riders from the elements and other dragons". Their wings definitely must be extremely durable against a lot of attacks if they're going through full grown trees all the time. If you think about it, if the wing is durable I'd use it as a battering ram. Like when a knight strikes a shield with his sword but the shielder deflects it and then just bashes him in the face with it.
But to be honest its probably who would get the first shot and there's like nothing known about the Timberjack and they overhype the Nightfury and the Typhoomerang.
Theres no way a dragon doesn't get tired so to be honest at the rate and rage a Typhoomerang is going they would burn themselves out in a lil bit.
Also I love more realism so anything with large wings like these 2 dragons are gliders at best. So the Timberjack makes no sense unless its able to fold its wings and move more like a snake. Cause it would be hella noticeable flying through a forest cutting trees and bushes that don't match its wingspan as well as leaving the most noticeable trail ever.
Which means:
1: Its way more stealthy/quick and can move through the brush and forest more like a snake.
2: We underestimate how high it will actually glide/fly. I mean you do need speed to fly through many trees so wouldn't they dive? And opening wings like those are slowing so they need to glide to make it through those trees.
Just my thought though. :P
I think we're forgetting the Timerjack's Stealth Stat is 12 while the Tyhpoomerang only has 6.
After the Dogfight in the sky that results in the Timberjack retreating to the forest, it could use that stealth to hide among the trees. If it could do that for long enough and if the Timberjack is clever enough, it could dart in and out of the trees, slicing the Typhoomerang with its wings and disappearing before the Typhoomerang could follow it properly.
The Typhoomerang is a relentless attacker, but si are dozen of other dragons. In rise of Berk, the timberjack has a higher battle ranking than the Typhoomerang

Timberjacks seem to fly in packs, so I am assuming that if the Typhoomerang tried to attack one the other pack members would step in. If a pack of Timberjacks were on the ground maybe the Typhoomerang would be able to take at least one down but still probably either be killed or brutally injured.

In my opinion, this match-up has a clear winner: the typhoomerang. The typhoomerang has clearly overwhelming firepower, is larger and stronger in terms of muscle, and is significantly faster than the timberjack.
The difference in speed is the single most important feature. In aerial combat, the typhoomerang's speed allows it to determine the entire outcome of the fight. If the typhoomerang wants to stop fighting it can run away, and the timberjack won't be able to catch up. If the typhoomerang wants to keep fighting, it will stay close to the timberjack, and the timberjack won't be able to run away because it is slower. It is true that the timberjack is far more agile than the typhoomerang, but this means little in aerial combat. Dragons are not planes. The enemy does not have to be directly in front of them for the dragon to fire. They can turn their heads and fire, which we see all the time, while still maintaining some level of accuracy. The typhoomerang's wide-cone tornado of fire simply increases the likelihood of hitting the timberjack on a side shot. In such in aerial combat, speed is everything. The faster dragon determines when and how the battle begins and ends, and in this case, the typhoomerang has the speed. For this reason, I am going to have to argue that the advantage in aerial combat actually goes to the typhoomerang.
In ground combat... why would the typhoomerang even bother with ground combat? The typhoomerang is faster and can fly away from the ground. There is nothing the timberjack can do to pin it down to earth. The typhoomerang, however, can pin down the timberjack. It will whip up one of its signature fire rings and trap the timberjack in the middle with the ground below it, and a bigger, stronger, more agressive typhoomerang above it. All that is left for the typhoomeran to do is to drop down and crush the timberjack with the weight of his own enormous body. Ducking and weaving through trees, the timberjacks only strength near the ground, will not help. The typhoomerang's area of attack is massive, and beacuse the typhoomerang is faster, it can fly above the trees, catch up to the slower timberjack, and rain fire from above. If by some chance, the typhoomerang is pinned to the earth, say, the timberjack's surprise attack sliced a wing, the typhoomerang is still stronger and can wrestle it to the ground.
The way I see it, the timberjack has only one chance at victory, and that is to use a surprise attack to kill the typhoomerang on the first strike. If the typhoomerang doesn't die on the first blow, it will fight relentlessly, and with the advantage in every important category, the typhoomerang WILL win.

I really feel like the Timberjack could take the win here. Especially if that first slash damages the Typhoomerang's wings. If the typhoomerang can't fly then the speed advantage shifts to the Timberjack who can just swoop down at it, swerving and dodging the fire attacks, and take it down cut by cut. Things only get worse for the typhoomerang if it's wing is cut while high in the air. And even if it comes to blows on the ground, a flailing timberjack would be like trying to wrestle a chainsaw.
And Timberjacks aren't known as tough defenders in rise of berk for nothing. Their wings are like massive shields, soaking up damage. And most dragons do have at least some resistance to fire. Though rise of berk isn't my preferred measurement of a dragon's fighting potential. Still fun game though.

Have you ever thought about the similarities between avatar and star wars? Its actually much closer then you think. 1st of all they're both based off a specifically chosen person that is to restore some kind of balance to their universe. Their people/colleges were all slaughtered. And there both awesome.
Typhoomerang has this in the bag. in terms of aerial combat most of the timberjacks advantages only come into play in the forrest. with its immense firepower the typhoomerang could easily burn down the trees not only robbing the timberjack of its advantages but also potentiallycreating a fiery deathtrap for the timberjack
what if the suprise attack allows the timberjack to hit the typhos huge wings or tiny neck with its giant slashing wings?

The timberjack would easily take away a victory. Of course, the timberjack can cut through trees at high speeds. It could just fly high up, then dive down at the typhoomerang, dodging it fireblasts and slicing it to bits.

Awesome HTTYD video Future Me and I have a LOTR video request I would like to share if you don't mind I always wondered what were all the Dwarven Kingdoms in Middle Earth I know there are seven but I only count 4 (Iron Hills, Moria, Ered Luin and Erebor) but what were the other three? I think that 2 other tournaments should be the Death Song vs. The Rumblehorn, and: a Typhoomerang vs. a Nadder
Could you breed two species of dragon together and get hybrids?
Timberjack because it could cut one of the wings with its sharp wings .
Making the Typhoomerang to flee and recover . But it will return to attack again , when it's broken wing will heal .

I think the Timberjack would win for 3 reasons.
1: all Timberjack can cut through trees with ease & some subspecies can cut through stone easily as well. Dragon Scales shouldn't be an issue for Wings like that.
2: In the forest combat, the Typhoomerang would be behind the Timberjack, meaning it would constantly have to deal with the threat of falling trees. With that poor mobility, a fair few would hit it, impairing it's flying ability.
3: with the large wingspan if the Timberjack, any fires started by the Typhoomerang (to maybe burn down the forest & force open air combat) could be easily put out by a few powerful gusts of wind.

Acually I quite like this because it would through out one weak dragon so we can have more powerful dragons in round 2.
Could hybrid dragons exist like there are hybrids of eg. lion and tiger?
I think that the Typhoomerang is a mixed breed or hybrid between the monstrous nightmare and a timberjack. why you might ask, think about it, in the episode were we were first introduced to the typhoomerang, we saw that it was able to ignite itself similar to the monstrous nightmare. and the typhoomerang, as an adult, has gigantic wings almost make up it's entire body.
But there is a downside, how would it be able to eat Eels?
