I've always been cautious about parking in deep water, but I never realized how much damage even a small amount of water can do. Fantastic job of breaking down the potential issues and offering practical advice.
good advice at the end - "don't let cars sit around, mechanical things need to stay in motion". My elderly Mom had a nice Subaru but as she aged it only was driven once in a while. When she stopped driving my brother bought it off her thinking low miles, he had a good deal. Once he started driving it every day, one thing after another fell apart, the dash lights became a christmas tree, and rust took over until he finally stopped the bleed and took it off the road. It is true especially with modern cars and all the electronics - they need to be kept in motion and used.
Sue’s the best! Always excited to diagnosis/share and deservedly takes pride. Now, as someone who has lived four and a half decades in the Deep South (Georgia), almost everyone I’ve ever known has parked in gravel, dirt, and grass without issues like this. Even trucks as old as me don’t end up like that… unless they came from up north like my 25yo Pontiac Montana. I genuinely don’t think parking off-road is that bad, especially since you only expect fresh water there. OTOH, I almost feel like salting roads does more harm than good. Billions wasted. :(
I used to own a Hilux and would often drive through a flooded creek here in Australia. I realised too late that it was destroying the chassis of my Ute. Its a salt water creek and now with my Ford ranger I never drive through it and Im sure people wonder why I U turn anything its even a puddle. They don't realise what the water is doing to their vehicles chassis. I have a nice trailer and just one trip through there and rust appeared all over the worn areas. That creek should have a warning sign for people to be aware.
I've ordered from you guys- and LOVED the experiences.... but unfortunatley I'm almost 70 and I got mashed between 2 trucks in 99 and am getting so I'm not able to do my own work any more... wish I could find some good A-1 class mechanics that are like you guys around here.. (I'm in southwest Virginia) and there are some good ones- but VERY hard to find.
There are NO good mechanics in my area here any more-- the good ones I KNEW are all dead or retired. I wish I could find someone like any of you A-1 guys... all great HONEST mechanics...that know what they're doing. OH well. Maybe I will find one eventually.
I like how you talk badly about the engineering behind oem parts...a lot of reviews on youtube say your parts dont last long and that you dont honor warranty

You can tell she loves every part of what she does.
I wish all mechanics were this thorough and enthusiastic about vehicle repairs. 😶
My favorite technician is at it again! Yay! ❤🎉😊
I love watching your videos. You always do this stuff completely spot on.
What a great video! I would 100% love for her to work on my cars. So thorough 🎉
You're a great mechanic ❤❤❤❤❤

Ayyye, she's back 💖
Water, salt, and garbage roads trashed the front cab mounts on my old truck 😅🙄 ...and then some...

You’re an inspiration to any DIY thank you

Great video. So cost?
great
Awsome 👍
Great Job Do it once do it right No Cowboys @1A Auto Your and other lives depends on it
🤯omg... This shows that the "cheaper" route will cause you to spend more in the long run; why pay twice when you can get it done right the first time.
Great analysis/work! Owner should get it undercoated with some lanoline product.👍🇺🇸

Not bad ⚡️
Always say the total cost upfront and why it's better than just buying a new one.
In NY the first problem is getting the idiotic Crome capped lug nuts off
Mr. Rusty😢
Going to guess it's a DIY job gone wrong. I would assume that a real mechanic would not want the liability of doing a Frankenstein job.
I want you to go over my car!
Salt, salt, salt.
The car must have spent most of its life near the sea.

that needs a hit of fluid film
Typical Jeep quality.
