You haven't seen Ella Purnell in other roles besides Yellowjackets, but you have heard her before. She voices Jinx in Arcane. The horror of the LA bomb drops are even worse when you consider the same scene was repeating world-wide.
To be honest the opening scene at the birthday party was just so original and raw. We all knew it was coming but the way its done the build up and explanation of the thumbs up was chefs kiss people turning on each other most reactors havent even noticed some parents were leaving kids behind very good pilot and i loved last of us as a game more but this adaptation is 10x better than what we have ever gotten
It was a good place to start, writing wise. I’m glad that they give us a lot of clues and information up front without getting bogged down. I’m also glad that they didn’t clutter the plot with everyone else’s back stories in the pilot. That’s coming, but right now they’re giving us what we need to know. It’s just tight writing. I wonder how many drafts it took to nail it so effectively.
To be fair I didn't recognize her until my second watch through. I think they aged her up in Deadpool quite a bit. And the characters are so different. Betty is that lady in HR everybody comes to with their problems. Blind Al definitely isn't that 😂
Okay, the only other UA-cam channel I tuned into for "Fallout" reaction was CinePals. But now that you're up I'm switching to you and I'm not even watching the show!!! LMAO!!!! THANKS, fellas!!!! I love having this diverse option as much as I love Rekkai's constant "X-Men: TAS" references!!! :)
@@captain_britain I have too much Marvel, Star Wars/Trek to watch. So I'm happy to live vicariously through reactors on things I wouldn't really commit to, being honest.
1:17, Walter Goggins the actor playing Cooper has fantastic range. I've seen him play a corrupt LA cop, a transgender prostitute and a second generation southern crime boss in various crime dramas on the FX network. Currently he voices the character of Cecil Stedman on Invincible.
19:25, oh wow this is like a Justified reunion Mykelti Williamson and Walter Goggins both played rival crime lords on that show. Their dialogue (uttered with thick southern accents) was hilarious and profound.
I was worried it was going to be crappy but that first episode was so great. The game was such a fun game and they did a great job of getting the loopiness of the game
hEllo Guvnas! Thought I'd check out my Whovians watching this show since I had some time while playing games, and since it isn't a show you'd be spoiling for ME, cause I've actually watched it. I haven't played Fallout but my wife has, so she was popping off on all these similarities and callbacks to the game too. Gotta say Rekkai got me again for the best moment, cracked us both up his comment about sistergirl needing a hair pick for the vault! 🤣 Hadn't seen Charles before, he's really good at picking apart story structure and making guesses! Super impressed. Think I'll keep watching your reactions to this one with the wife, good show!
Y’all got reacting down good man. Three of y’all together reacting is a great blend of minds. Reactions are a tough thing to make entertaining to watch and have it add something besides what’s being watched as well. Y’all do a good job of chatting over the footage but without taking away from scenes. Reactions usually are way too little talking or way too much. Finding that good mix is tough but y’all did it well. Great job
“You know me or maybe you don’t.” We’ve never met, Rekkai. But I recognize you. I wouldn’t assume anything about you, but I recognize a kindred spirit.
I live in Pomona California outside of L.A I used the bomb simulator and figured that unless they unleash a Tzar Bomb on L.A. we should be relatively safe. lol We used to have March Air Force Base in Moreno Valley and General Dynamics in Chino which would be probable strike areas but both are closed down. So unless they wanna make the ghetto more ghetto we are doing pretty good as being a waste of ordnance lol
According to the games the world population was 10,000,000,000 people by 2077. On the 23rd of October 2077, The Great War started. 2 hours later it ended. It is estimated only 100,000,000 people survived the blast. One of the factions in the earlier games stated that America had a population of around 14 million. 700,000 of which were in California. These figures always seemed a little whacky to me. However that would be 90% of the population of planet Earth dying in 120 minutes.
Already finished the series, it was a pretty damn entertaining and thrilling show. The Ghoul definitely being my favorite character but every character is great to be fair, especially our main 3. Lucy and Maximus really grew on me throughout the show and ended up liking them a lot by the end. I would give the first Season a solid 8/10, I was not that familiar with the games, played Fallout Last Vegas (I think that what it was called) once way back on my PS3 and yeah but no nothing of the world really or it's lore ended up liking the show, definitely will be checking out Season 2 when it comes out.
I hear somewhere that these bombs were much weaker than regular real life nuclear bombs explosion wise but they made up for it with much more radioactive fallout
TL:DR (That being said I think they adapted it perfectly for TV) - Long time Fallout Super Fan and Bethesda hater ( I liked Fallout 3 but 4 is described as an Ocean with the Depth of a Puddle in terms of Writing and Lore, they also butcher a lot of the original lore because they are too lazy to be unique and want to cater to a lowest common Denominator audience.
Still can't believe there will come a time I'll see a live action Fallout TV show
You haven't seen Ella Purnell in other roles besides Yellowjackets, but you have heard her before. She voices Jinx in Arcane.

Yellowjackets and Arcane are two must see series. Now she's potentially added a third.

Nobody showing love for the lady from Deadpool? Worried about Zach but not her? Wow. Cold man. Cold.

She seemed kind of spry. Maybe she made it out.

If one was in a dark mood, one could say Christopher Nolan made Oppenheimer, now Jonathan Nolan has made the sequel.
"This afro doesn't pick itself". 🤣🤣
Fab video chaps! Can't wait to see y'all dive in to the rest of the series
Cuba Gooding Majors is perfect, lmao!
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Of all the deaths we see in the series, Honcho should have survived, I liked him. The way he says “can you shut the fuck up” is legendary

That intro was soo dope.
My children played the game so I am aware of it. I thoroughly enjoyed this pilot and look forward to the rest of the series. 😉
It looks like 1950s, but it’s actually like the 2070s when the bombs drop.
Yep in an alternate reality
@@technofilejr3401Yep,the history of the fallout universe and our unverse was exactly the same up to WW2 I believe
Yup! They dropped in 2077
@@tauceti8060 yup. Then after that it starts to veer off. Because instead of working on the combustion engine they decided to work on nuclear fission
Just a little lore for you guys, the bombs dropped in October of 2077 in this universe
Jabbed in the eye stabbings, rifle shootings, neck slicing and Rekkai is “No not enough blood” 😮
😂
Great reaction. Binged the whole thing and looking forward to season 2. If you enjoyed this, ya'll should react to Westworld
Already psyched. Just finished the show and got into you guys through 3 body. Excited to see yall talk about this one.

Great stuff. The best thing I've seen since "Three Body Problem." So glad you're watching it!

In the beginning scene the year was actually 2077 but they never grew out of the 60s style lol
The intro: In under an hour and that we have built, turns to fallout and ash.
16:31 syntell, they also called him Cuba gooding Majors on the double toasted movie review channel lol
This show gives me massive Silo vibes minus the outside aspect 🍿
Yeah, Silo feels like a Fallout story which takes itself seriously 😅
Silo was fun. A bit slow, but overall good.
Judging by your excitement as fans of the game sounds like they succeeded in their job so far🙏
So far it's meeting all of my expectations. But then again, this is the pilot.

Nobody notices you never see a Bomb actually Drop, just explode at surface level ( most Nukes are designed to be Air Burst and do even more damage ) .
Could be something that was lost in the alternate history element, like the microchip.
3:35, yep most major cities are targeted by multiple warheads…just to be sure
"INNA MOUTH?!?"
That's what "school" was like for 1000s of years all 'round the world, mate... history really does kinda suck
