- Our friends Grant and Shalee Taylor from King and Queen of Country Swing were kind enough to share a tutorial for two-stepping. We hope it inspires some of y'all to take a turn on the dancefloor, even if it's just in your living room!

I had a date this weekend and she told me she loves county music and dancing so I assumed she meant 2 stepping...y'all made this so easy to pick up, now here's the catch. She didn't know how to 2 step !!! Lol still an amazing night and thank y'all for helping me impress my date ❤️
U❤
i was just looking for cars 2-stepping how did i get here
How to two-step 🚗 🚶♂️ .. now you know both 😂
I’m dead
this comment is gold hahahaha
I’m in that same boat brother
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Seriously this is the easiest video to follow, straight to the point, without the confusing stuff. Thank you guys! you two are so cute.
Real good, can’t wait until wife gets home from work, got the furniture moved 😂
Y'all nailed it. Boot scootin' diagonal - left foot, left foot and then right foot slow is the way I've done this since the 80's when I learned whilst dancing with a wooden chair..
Love it. What I like about this video is that you covered what you are calling style 2. That was what I learned many moons ago. When the two step showed up in my feed I thought I'd check it out. I quickly become worried that maybe I had been doing it wrong all these years since most are teaching the "quick and slow" more like a walk. So it's nice to see I'm not wrong. Lol
I'm a homeschooled kid going out to a dance hall for the first time in a week - appreciate the instruction!
Best of luck!
Style 2 is how I learned it back in the early 80's. :)
I learned style 2 from watching Urban Cowboy. :-)
As a South Texas native, it's what we did, and still do today :). I honestly no idea style 1 even existed! lol!
@@NuudleEXEwow, ur native? Me too! Also Same haha 😂 I was trying to look for this dance everywhere but I couldn't find it until now. Ig everyone forgot that style 2 existed 🥲
They didn't venture off into late-night Texas roadhouse thigh-riding 😎
she has to be the cutest, most adorable thing on two legs! Love just watching her dance in all of her videos.
My dad taught me the “hoppy version,” important to note there are still 4 steps, just the two in the middle are the quick ones once you get going🤣 thanks for the video
That's how I was taught the 2-step 40 years ago when I first took lessons (I don't think It really matters), but most clubs/teachers teach: quick quick slow slow, but I prefer the slow slow quick quick; especially for beginners. Since then, I've taken ballroom lessons and therefore adopted a more formal posture and enjoy it because of better control & balance. But still enjoying @ 66 with my wife of 30 years (who I met 2-stepping). Oh, I forgot to say I like Tacovas also, I have 3 pairs.
THANK YOU- for making this so uncomplicated!!
Easy to follow! I learned “quick, quick, slow slow” when I started, so it seems interchangeable with tempo. Fun!
The best part about this clip is the pointy toe boots. Just by seeing those I knew it would be an awesome clip, and it was. Love seeing those rather than those fangled city slicker square-toed boots.
Y'all are so fun and cute!!!
You two are adorable! Thanks for the lesson.
when your about to go to a country concert as your first date and you cant dance......
howd it go
id like to know as well. howd it go?
I guess Tyson got trampled on by others and died.
One year later hope u guys are married now🤣
How’d it go?
SLIDE your feet, taking actual steps takes away from being smooth on the floor, hence why so many dance halls will have saw dust on their floor, to be able to glide.
since moving from Louisiana to Texas, people have been telling me I'm two-stepping wrong for years. nope, I'm just doing style 2. I feel so validated lol
Love the boots!!!
Riiggghhttt!!!!
That country interlude in Rosa Parks OutKast bout to get wild tonight
Love how she looks at him😍
such fun and great teachers. thank u for the video
wish I would of seen this BEFORE going to the local bars country night. All in all thank you for the vid, now next time I go I won’t need the ladies to teach me how to dance mid dance 😭
Oh you had em, it's always better to get coached by the ladies on the dance floor. They eat that up too!! Keep learning, keep trying, keep dancing.
I think if there were more dance halls in the world, there would be less violence!
Y’all make it look easy
I hope I get respect somewhere in my life now having learned this😂
It's important to point out in each & every video that there are ONLY two (2) dance styles done on ANY social Dance Club/Lounge anywhere in the World. Spot/Rhythm & Progressive/Traveling. The congestion Problem (s) we all run into these days is that Dance Instructors do not continually reinforce (Over & Over/ Ad Nauseum ),...... All Spot/Rhythm Dance Styles should be done in the CENTER of the Dance Floor,......Progressive/Traveling Dance Styles are done in the two (2) outside lanes of the Dance Floor. Slower Progressive/Traveling Dancers on the inside Lane & the faster moving dances in the Outside FAST Lane. This way, we can ALL perform our dance of choice at the very same time to each particular Music Selection. Thank You!
First of all great video, very helpful. But I was more looking for style 2 with a how and when to spin.
So easy for some, so complicated for others.
So true. I can dance these, I just don't understand the need for the technical terms.
Country casual 😂 I think I'm putting that on my truck window
Beautiful
Thank you🙏
Im a black man. Love counrrynmusic but been intimidated by going into country bars. Due to looks ive gotten. But i wanna learn the 2-step any suggestions
Hey man I hope you found a bar or 2. If you haven't had the chance, just go and have a drink. If you're the only black guy there I would be surprised. Watch for a couple, like my wife and I, that looks like they're having fun. Between songs ask if they could give you a quick tutorial. Get a song in and you'll be fine. Country swing is fun and anyone I've ever danced with is super friendly and having a great time even if you aren't any good.
I’m taking lessons now. We are taught quick quick slow slow, As opposed to slow slow quick quick as seen on the video. Just curious. Thank you for the video!
Proper way is quick quick slow slow
yes i think for video purposes they were starting slow slow quick quick.. you end up doing the same steps just start differently
Technically 2-step is Quick Quick Slow Slow. Foxtrot is Slow Slow Quick Quick.
@@davidlammermeier4884There is no proper when there are so many versions and variations. Original way, maybe. Not necessarily proper.
This is literally dancing to spanish music!
I was looking for the hard-core 2 step. What am I doing here
I feel that girls after this would be Allstar safety’s with all that backpedaling
U should show the same thing with music at the end
Why don't you see people dance like this in the World Competitions, big workshops or dance studio classes? I've only seen the QQSS version. I'm confused.
Please consult your local dance professionals and show them this demo of two step.
What style of Tecovas is the lady wearing?
Dance videos should start with a demo of the dance. I don't know if I wanna learn something I've never seen.
the best Brazilian dances. crike in the image
Thank you lol ♥️❤️
Im finding out there several differant 2 steps.I thought i was pretty good at the 2 step I was taught in hi school back in the 80s,..I danced with a lady last night and we were so far off from each other on our pattern it was a compete failure. . She just went 2 step forward and 1 step back. The one iI knew it was like prancing around in a slow circulare motion.
Do you have anymore videos on style 2
Word
Sweet
What is the name of the second style?
I wanna know this too! What do you call that second style?
It's called Texas Two Step
It's a slightly diagonal version of the rhythm two step or arizona two step
@@spinheraround I thought Texas two step had two quick steps and then two slow?
The quick-quick-slow is the two step my wife and I learned back in the 80s
Step up your game!!
Htf did I ended here?!
Isn't the two step basically a quicker waltz?
Wait, maybe not, a waltz is three, all the two steps seem to be four.
I confused myself: why, if there are four repeated steps, is it called a two step?
If a waltz is 1, then 2 3, why is it actually 2-4 time? Confused again.
Please folks, I do know how to dance, it's just the jargon that confuses me.
So in tempo it's kind of similar to a box step.
I was taught fast-fast slooow-slooow😅
Hi
Lol the Queen and King tripping all over each other and don’t know which foot to use on a baby 2-step 😂 gtfoh
Please wear mics so we don’t have to listen to the echo…
Anybody else come here to learn how to 2 step with a car?
Now show me how to hardcore two step
Can you put on some music!!!
Can't hear a word you're saying. Get a bluetooth. Plantronics is the best.
It took 2 minutes before the first step Jesus Christ
No one made you watch it
Well the problem is now everybody wants to have a modern version of everything and when you're talking about traditions and standards you can't modify anything most of the people who think they're two stepping are actually going freestyle two stepping is very rigid it's just like square dance there's no modifications
It’s not that serious
He’s great, sorry but she is annoying
Literally no one dances Style 2 because it looks so terrible.
Terrible dancers. You’ve got to be kidding
I was waiting for style three, the right way.
Way too much talking
You need to quit teaching the dance. You are doing it all wrong. Two short steps with the guy's left foot and one full slide with the right. Hence the phrase, "TWO-STEP". Quit ruining the dance and teaching people wrong. You almost had it right at 3:00 into the video but you don't SIDE-STEP.
They aren't my cup of tea either, but come on man - they literally label them "Style 1" and "Style 2". One progressive, one non-progressive, and I'm guessing both danced in different parts of the country?
Thats not dancing 😮
Poor dancers
OMG, she is SO tiny.
gigachad/stacey wannabees.
Yikes
