Glad that our tips helped! Hope you were able to use our HomeBase method to dance to Cowboy Rides Away. It's got a really nice clear Boom-Chick beat, which makes it easy to dance to! 👍
Chase, that's really what dancing is all about! Get yourself confident with just a few fundamental skills and rock them anyway you like. Have fun on the dance floor!!!
Oooooh! Great song! ❤️ If you're gonna dance to this one, just be sure to shorten it, as it's a little on the long side. Best to keep it to 2-3 min, depending on how many dance moves you know. Have a good one!
Glad you liked it! Our Everyday Dance Style can be used to dance to just about anything. That way, you don't have to learn a whole slew of different steps and try and figure out which steps go with what music!!!
I have a wedding in September and I need help! We are beginner dancers want to dance to In common by FINMAR and also all I want by Kat and Alex, also butterlfies by abe Parker. We need help!! Your video has helped!
Hi Clarissa, help is here for you! Go to the following page using the link below and connect directly with us for a free consult. www.naturaldancemethod.com Glad the video helped, and looking forward to continuing that help directly with you and your fiancé.
I enjoy your simple approach and the emphasis on having fun. However if you tried this on the dance floor at a country dance spot you would get run over. Typically the two step (and I know you are not doing that specific dance) is done progressively around the dance floor. Your lessons do help the non dancer get started with rhythm and leading and following which are so important. Keep the videos coming.
Hi Dancing Donna! Thanks for the comments, and we totally agree with you. Levelling up to progressive dances (like the 2-Step) is a great goal for beginner dancers to look forward to once they're confident dancing with a partner with a more stationary basic action. Wishing you loads of fun on the dance floor!
Hey guys. Great video for those just trying to get started enjoying an evening on the dance floor! I'm an Adv-Bronze/Beg-Silver dancer and really struggle with songs like this one. I'm most comfortable in Waltz at about 30 MPM, this one is about 33 mpm, right? I like the simple weight transfer on the Boom and Tic. I find it difficult to step on each beat and travel the floor without getting too out of control because of the tempo. What do you suggest for someone at my level, who commonly dances socially with beginners? I would like to travel the floor, using 3/8th turns as a basic and incorporate some easy spins, but I think 33 mpm gets out of control for me. I want to use my foundational skills while keeping it comfortable for the lady, especially if she is pretty new to waltz. Do you have any suggestions?
Hi Brent! A typical Standard Waltz, where you'd use 3/8th turns would be 28-30 bars per minute. This song is closer to 50 bars per minute, so you're totally right that it would not be comfortable for a beginner, especially one who is new to Waltz! A Standard Viennese Waltz (60 bars per minute) could be done, but again, it would not be appropriate for a beginner. Best to use a social style with this song, like an easy weight transfer on the Boom/Chic or a Box Step over 12 counts (123456 123456). Hope that helps!!!
Great song! 😊 If you learn how to dance our Everyday Dance style, you can dance to any country song you want, or pretty much any genre of popular music out there! Our method is extremely versatile and we coach you on how you can alter your home base pattern to suit the speed and feel of the dance. If you're interested in our online program, sign up for a call with us. Link is in the description!
I’d love to see what you guys would recommend for You make it easy by Jason Aldean. The song starts pretty quickly… so if you could possibly show suggestions for an entrance… thank you 😁
Thanks for your question! 😊 With a song that starts so quickly like "You Make it Easy", we suggest doing an intro over either the first phrase (or half phrase) of music. That way, you still can make a nice entrance before starting the dance. Download our FREE checklist that outlines how the Intro, Body and Outro/Ending of the song can be structured. (Link in Description)
If you keep the HomeBase pattern easy, it looks and IS in fact easy to dance, especially for total beginners! Doing a Waltz or a 2 step is great too, but it does add a layer of complexity, as the HomeBase pattern becomes longer (6 beats for a Waltz) and may include changes of rhythm (QQSS for a 2-step).
No, we don't have a specific tutorial for Truly, Madly, Deeply, but our style of dance is totally versatile and can go with any kind of music. So whatever music you choose, we can definitely help you. If you need more help, check out our online course information in the Description. Good luck! 😊
Great song! It's a little on the long side for a wedding dance, so feel free to fade it out at around 2.5 to 3 min, depending on whether or not you learn any dance skills to fill up the time. Good luck! :)
Would you be able to do “I wish I could back up” by Alan Jackson. We are doing this song as our father daughter dance and we will love to learn from you!! Wedding is this October 28th!! Please and thank you!!! You guys are great
Hi Abby, great song! You can connect with us directly through this page: www.naturaldancemethod.com We'd love to teach you within our online program. Please contact us soon, as our free consultation calls fill up quickly!
Wow, you guys are great, and so adorable too! I’m a complete non-dancer, so this video is perfect. In a week, my daughter is getting married and we’re dancing to Then They Do by Trace Adkins. Would this sway and underarm turn be appropriate for that song? Any other suggestions for someone with two left feet and 10 big toes?
Hi Kevin, definitely! Main idea is to have a wonderful moment on the dance floor with your daughter. Having a few simple dance moves is just a bonus. Here's another video we did about father-daughter dances that we made: ua-cam.com/video/gvJfxbtWU_w/v-deo.html Love to hear how it all turns out!!!
You can use the same skills in this video to dance to your song. However, learning how to choose the right Homebase pattern for your particular song is important. "Half a Song" is a little bit faster of a tempo, so we would suggest doing a simple step-tap instead of a side sway, in order to slow you down, and feel more comfortable dancing together. Let us know how you make out with it! 😊
This would never be danced or played as a Two-Step. It’s a Viennese Waltz. A Two-Step would be danced in 4/4 time at about 170-200 bpm and would be a rhythmic song with accents on the 1,3,5,7. In country, the “slow-dance” is called Nightclub 2-step, which was created by Micheal Kim and derived from Buddy Schwimmer AKA the King of Swing’s dance called “Nightclub”. Nightclub 2-step is the slowest dance done in country done in 4/4 time around 50-60 bpm. It’s an informal, smooth dance with a 6 count basic which sways to the side, it’s meant to be a social dance performed in a busy setting and can very easily be taught to new dancers. Please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Too much talk not enough dancing, lame.... and I'm a romantic fast learner. I heard them talking too much and more than 75% in finally get dancing???? Uhmmm.... not worth watching
I've been watching your videos since my first dance lesson last Thursday. They've been helpful. Thank you for the great tips.

Great video I really like the simplicity of no having to memorize certain steps but still allowing me to look like I kind of know what I'm doing.

Another great song with a clear Boom-Chick beat to dance to. 👍😊 How did it go?
Trying to figure out what steps would be good to Eric Church’s “You Make it look so easy” help wedding next week.
