@4:59 "A glorified Opel Blitz". You nailed it. That is spot on. Too many CM video makers in the past have treated them like light tanks. And then turned the air blue when they go "Boom".
Well edited, with nice, calm and clear voice. This is your thing, keep up the good work and do not hesitate to add some dry humour or other creative touches if you will.
Excellent editing. Love the close up views and how you paced what we saw. Very well done. Watching valdusaurelian's video gives a good counter point to what happened. Please do more of these. I'll watch them all ;)
Awesome mission! Unfortunate about losing there, but thats literally the only way to learn in Combat Mission lmao. If you wanna do blocking missions like that, I personally would advise using a howitzer on a light intensity, long duration mission since they come with more ammo and raw firepower than even 120mm mortars can pack, allowing them to stay on station for longer and provide a much bigger reason for the enemy to not go that way. The halftrack thing is just something that comes with halftracks tbh, so I personally try to dismount well out of sight from where I expect to meet the enemy, and running with them opened up helps to spot enemy vehicles and engage any infantry that might be sitting nearby. As for your tanks, I have no idea if you were doing this so if you were good on you, they are best used from a hull down position since German vehicles are pretty low profile and that mightve at least prolonged the usage of your tanks. As for that Hetzer, I'd just say make sure you bring units with high morale and at least a +0 in leadership, as these both will effect how they react to enemy fire and friendly losses. If this is stuff you already know then you already know how to improve, but I do hope that I actually offered some useful info.
@@ddragon5224 The Hetzer had -1 leadership. Once the platoon HQ got annihilated the crew refused to do anything until the last 5 minutes of the game. I definitely had trouble with spotting. Especially my tanks, appeared to be be blind. I am new to the game, this was only my second match. I will take on your advice about the artillery. There is still a lot I’m kind of guessing at. Like is it better to put tanks on armour target arc always or just let them do their thing.
@@bomberfox8360 ok yeah the Hetzer’s issue was leadership then. I’ve found spending the extra points to give tanks high experience, morale, and leadership is worth it as it will prevent issues like becoming panicked from things that normally wouldn’t be an issue to a tank. Somewhat annoying but it does make sense if you think about it. The main issue with tanks being blind is that 1. You were advancing to contact, meaning you’re easier to see as a large, moving object than the American ones sitting still and waiting 2. Opening up is vital for tanks, I usually drive mine opened until they get close enough for rifle or machine gun munitions to accurately hit, about 100-200m away from enemy contact. Even then I usually leave them open until I can either area fire them or they have LOS on something. Other than that a very important thing about this game is that you should detach scout teams from your squads, in the “admin” tab, and use them to punch up and find at least partial spots on the enemy before your main force gets ripped in half As for the tanks, unless I’m using them specifically for an ambush I rarely put them on target arcs. My general advise is that a tank will engage the biggest threat to it that it can see, so leaving it without a target arc will allow it to shoot any infantry you need it to shoot while also being able to engage tanks when spotted. For dealing with infantry the tank can’t see, I’d advise giving them “target briefly” orders for about 15-30 seconds where the enemy is, they’ll dump a few rounds of HE and a good amount of machine gun fire into that area and will at least suppress the enemy in the zone You are learning though! The mistakes you made weren’t terrible, they just mainly came from not fully understanding how to use your equipment most effectively. If you ever want to run a game with me I’d be down to give you some pointers here and there, but no sweat if you don’t wanna.

Bad result, but excellent video. You seemed to identify what went wrong, and was honest about it in your commentary. Of course, I would recommend sending your German pixeltruppen into battle with Charlie and his Orchestra ringing in their ears. It won't improve your game play, but it will make losing more fun.

What mods are you using
All-in-one modpack. It is just some sound and graphics stuff.
What sound mod do you use? 😊
All in one modpack. It is a little finicky to find, but there is a big list of Zips for all the CM games in a google drive.
