BONNIE AND CLYDE: Final Days, Ambush, and Burial

  • This episode, chronicles the last months of Bonnie and Clyde, culminating in their ambush in Louisiana. In this video I visited the actual locations such as the site of their hideout, the ambush location, where they spent their final night alive, the Gibsland Ambush Museum, the streets of Arcadia, Louisiana, their graves, the site of Clyde’s funeral, and more. What did Bonnie and Clyde, and their families do to prepare for their deaths? How did the final family visit go? What promises were made? Where did Bonnie get her last permanent? I apologize for the length of this. Due to fears of restrictions I chose not to break it into multiple episodes, which not only made it longer but made it take longer to make. I hope you enjoy it. I enjoyed making it. A note about the life insurance, discussions I found online between insurance professionals indicate companies DO pay families even if the person is killed during a crime. The criminal isn’t profiting and the family isn’t responsible for their loved one’s behavior. The effect seems to mostly affect the receiving of the accident benefit.

    UA-cam has decided in their infinite wisdom that I should not be compensated for this film. It took me a month’s work including a fifteen hour drive round trip to Louisiana. I don’t know if I can adequately describe what it feels like to put so much time and work into something, have the public respond with so much praise, only to have UA-cam tell me I need to do all of that for free because it isn’t a “happy topic”. It makes me wonder why I even do this. Every time I make something people actually want to watch they restrict it or demonetize it. I don’t know what to do. I want to do this for a living, but I can’t if everything that is popular, where my money would come from because it actually has viewers will just get shut down. If you can find it in your heart to check me out on Patreon, or send me a super thanks on UA-cam I would greatly appreciate it. Clearly I will have to rely on fans or I can’t keep doing this. Obviously I’m really upset right now and my mood will probably rally, but right now I don’t feel welcome on UA-cam because I kid you not every video I have ever had go viral has been set so I’m not compensated. It is absolutely emotionally devastating. Please watch my other videos, share them with friends, if they get the views this one does it won’t hurt as much, but basically this was the only video giving me any income. Enough whining. Thank you to everyone who has subscribed or liked this video. I don’t mean to sound ungrateful. Your positive feedback has meant the world to me, but now I’m wondering, do I even make the Young Brothers Massacre. It’s likely to have the same fate? My gosh I don’t know what to do.

    As another comment said, you never have to apologize for a video being long, or "too long" if the content is decent, entertaining, and informative, and your video hit everyone of those points! It was a great subject, interesting, informative, and entertaining. I'll GLADLY watch a video that's 60 minutes, even 120 minutes if it's an interesting topic and it's done well. Thank you for caring about your "product", and for being willing to accept constructive criticism or feedback about your videos. This shows a level of respect that not all content creators have. This video got me to subscribe, because it made me curious about other things and subjects that you've shared. Thanks again and keep up the GREAT WORK!!

Though I did not search for this video I found it absolutely fascinating and very professionally put together and narrated - frankly, I was absolutely mesmerized from beginning to end. The wealth of detail you have brought to their final days and the manner in which you have presented it is on par, in my opinion, with that of any distinguished historian or professor of American history teaching at university level. I had read in one book that the morning of the ambush Bonnie got a 'hamburger sandwich' to go and ate a little of it. Supposedly it was in her hand as the ambush began. So many rumors in these famous cases. I never saw Clyde's sunglasses on his body in the car before. I loved the way you fit the photos in the video. One of the most interesting and all inclusive documentaries I have seen anywhere. As most people my age, I saw the movie 40 years ago and knew of Bonnie and Clyde. But one always has to question the accuracy of films made to entertain an audience. The outline and detail you provided had me captivated throughout the entire presentation and you talk at a nice easy to follow pace. The actual locations, photos, sequence of events and information showing them as people were of great interest to anyone interested in historical events. The poem Bonnie wrote was quite moving. Shocking was what happened immediately after the shootings, quite unbelievable, but then it was a very different time. So many of the comments below match my own views so I wont repeat them, other than to say this was an excellent production and very encompassing. Really loved learning the true story. Thank you for the great video. The saddest part about Bonnie and Clyde was the fact that after they had committed their first murder, they were up for the death sentence, no questions asked. Knowing this, they had no choice but to run until their luck ran out. There was one time when Clyde was speeding along and didn't know there was a bridge out. He went over the embankment and crashed the car. Bonnie had been burned very badly on her leg and although Clyde patched her up himself because it was too risky to see a doctor, her leg never healed correctly and she walked with a limp the rest of her short life. Their weapon of choice was the Browning automatic rifle because of it's range and penetrating power. Despite Bonnie being so frail, she was able to handle a BAR without a problem. Once a lawman was hiding behind a tree and she blew the tree away to splinters in the gun battle she was involved in. The police were scared out of their wits to encounter them, they had evaded capture so many other times. Because of this, they were not given the chance to surrender and they emptied their weapons into the car. The engine had still be running at the time and after Clyde had been hit, his foot slipped off the clutch and the car started driving off by itself. Thinking they were trying to escape they kept up the firing. Supposedly 167 bullets hit the car. I had no idea about the school thing as they were towed back into town with their bodies still in the car. Sad to see there are some morons who actually shot at the monument where the ambush took place. Thanks again.

    First of all, thank you for sharing. Beautifully told!!! This is truly a sad story. I think why it remains such a huge topic is that it is not only a love story but it’s also a crime story & a murder one. They were outlaws & needed to pay for their crimes but in such a manner?! The law officers (being several) had enough guns & ammo to feed a small army should have tried to take them in! They never tried they just opened fire on them in over kill! Who knows wether Clyde & Bonnie would have surrendered but we will never know. They didn’t get that chance!

    • @MMorbid
      @MMorbid  Рік тому +3

      Clyde would not have surrendered, I’m certain of that. And even though it was her choice Bonnie didn’t deserve that and her suffering bothers me, clearly it bothered the officers too, at least some of them anyway. But I don’t think they could have done anything else.

    • @steviesgirlbrenwag
      @steviesgirlbrenwag Рік тому +1

      @@MMorbid I do not believe they (being Clyde) would have surrendered either, but their not even trying is what bothers me… being officers of the law & all, granted it was so many years ago & things were much different then today but it still seems that there should have been some form of ethics they lived by especially as you mentioned, Bonnie being inside the car… I guess we will never know if it would have went differently.

    Brilliantly done, the details are exceptional. You’ve obviously done an awful lot of research. I’ve read a really good book on their lives, it showed how the lives of people in general was so poor because of the depression years. Bonnie was a beautiful girl and Clyde didn’t really stand much of a chance having been hassled by the police from a very young age.

Otherwise, very well researched and presented in a professional manner without fabricating "facts" to fit a particular narrative. Well done! A+

    Known about Bonnie & Clyde & The Barrow Gang since I was a little kid in the late 70s.
    I've seen the movies & a lot of documentaries.
    Movie I liked best is The Highway Men (2019) because it depicted the law enforcement point of view rather than 2 people who were once good that become stone cold killers.
    That said, I like your video and subscribed!

      Clyde was locked up and given the worst punishment they could, Raped everyday, Back breaking work for pushing him, let others bet him as the guard’s as well, Fired from his jobs after finding one, Police robed Bonnie & Clyde after death, Allow others to get items from them as the body’s sitting in car, trying to cut off Clydes finger and another trying to cut off his ear, Who was the animal’s there. Just standing up and blasted B&C. There kids are still sailing B&C items today to live. Police Family sucks, These items needed returned to B& C family as respect. Anyone who will take from the dead are far worse than B&C
