I live in RH and also recorded massive flooding on my drone too. I followed your entire series on cutting up the ship that capsized and happy to see you in my neck of the woods. I ended up filming in 5 different areas and recorded massive amounts of video and still photos from above. Glad I didn't have a mid-air with you! I donated all of my videos to local homeowners for documentation purposes. Welcome to Richmond Hill. I flew my drone over 100 miles in the period between 8/11 to 8/18/24.

It just baffles me why people are acting so shocked when we all know this area has always been under sea level. I have lived here all my life, after 40 years this is not a suprise. What the hell do you expect when the majority of the area is built on swamps and low lined areas. What is nature gonna do when its overwhelmed and its natural protection has been taken by man?, duh, it's gonna take it back.

I've been living in Savannah GA my entire life. I literally live 8 miles north of the Ogeechee River. And everyone is freaking out about the river flooding. Back when I was a kid in the 80's this river would flood every year. I had friends that lived on the river on Hwy 204 or Ft. Argyle Rd. They kept a canoe, kayak, & 10ft jon boat at the head of their driveway for this situation. Their driveway was about 250yards long. So it wasn't a short distance they had to go.

My heart just breaks for all of the people in the floods. This weather in the US has been unbelievable this year. Greenfield, Iowa had a tornado with 300+ mph winds. My grandson and his family lost the garage and major damage to the house. They may get back in the house after the first of the year. A lot of people lost everything. Stay safe Andy.

I would not have thought that the after effects of Debby would be like this. Keep up with your local weather forecast

I'm so confused! The weather channel said Savannah , Hilton Head and surrounding areas all the way up to Myrtle Beach could get up to as much as 25 inches of rain, so everyone should have left...When you build on every inch of ground, where can the water go??? It's not the water's fault...

Keep in mind that this occurred almost a week after the storm passed by

Take out all the trees and build unnecessarily large houses carrying a huge environmental footprint. Couple this with climate change, warmer water, and air temps carrying a lot more water and more frequent storms and here we are. Who permitted this development, knowing it is in a flood plain watershed? Look at the Hyuandi plant and amount of trees removed and land cleared. Thanks for the drone footage. What a disaster. My dad (coadtal geologist at Skidaway for 40 years) would have predicted this, sadly. He tried to warn elected officials that these more frequent storms and higher sea level rise were coming to our coast.

Hunter Army Air Field! Part of Fort Stewart. Hunter AFB closed around 1967. Hwy 144 runs out through Ft. Stewart to the west from Richmond Hill.

@harrycarter1722 Yes, closed, shut down. The U.S. Army took it over the next year.
