Pretty sure I had the unfortunate experience of meeting/dealing his ex wife (Jennifer). She still owns their duplex in Fayetteville and houses her current husband's mother in it (she married another SF guy). I married and have since divorced the man she married after him, who was also a green beret. My sincere condolences.🙏

@@dan7462 There's actually 'SF groupies' that specifically hang out at local bars that are typically frequented by SF guys and she's one of them (I had no idea such a thing existed until I met my ex). After George died in 2013, she was already remarried, but would make a huge production out of 'honoring' him every year, which in my opinion was highly dispectful to his current wife Michelle and his family. I was w/my ex for 13 yrs who's an instructor w/JSOC. Her current husband actually came through the course he teaches. Let's just say she's not the brightest bulb on the block and never dared speak a word to me. I'm guessing the few brain cells she's working with gave her enough sense not to! The only reason I was around her frequently is she had a child w/my ex and then we had a son which she tried to say was not his real brother. She's no genius, lol

Thank you brother. I only spent 4 years in the Marine corps but in my lifetime I've met some seals a couple of Green berets other special forces guys I even had the pleasure of getting to know a British royal Marine. All of the above had a way about them so calm so involved in listening to someone and the way presented themselves and the way they spoke was something very out of the ordinary of a very common Fighting Man. Nothing but 1000% respect for all of them, especially the green berets they are on a level it's unbelievable

Green Beret's are definitely some of the most humble, kind, intelligent people I've come to talk to in the Army. Their mission is so much broader than just strike operations. They become part of the foreign community. From training Soldiers, helping families, and building community centers like schools and demolished buildings from past battles. One person described them as the most bad ass school counselors you'll ever meet. They're definitely NOT special operations, they are special forces. Ask any Ranger to go through a wall and they'll just beat it sensless until they get through. Ask a Green Beret to go through a wall, and he'll just get another Ranger to do it for him. That's the difference between them and regular grunts. Really smart and talented people.

I was Lucky enough to have an 82nd that I grew up with, and a Navy Seal. Both Family members when home on leave still vigorously worked out 3 to 4 times a day.
Both made it but not without being shot. They would come home for a short time & leave again to go back to it.
I would say they are the most dedicated.
When our Green Beret came home from his last tour I was told NOT TO WAKE HIM OR GO IN HIS ROOM WHILE HE WAS SLEEPING ANYMORE 😢 that he might accidentally hurt me.
      Thank you Special Forces

I spent 7 years in Afghanistan, most of it as an ETT (with 3rd SFG and 7th SFG) and the rest as a contractor working with the ANA.
I worked with French, UAE, Norwegian, British, Dutch, and US Special Forces.
All of those units had some exceptional personnel. All of those units were highly trained, were in exceptional shape and very intelligent.
But the US Special Forces was, without a doubt, the most professional and cool-headed warriors I met over there, and they possessed a vigorous spirit and enthusiasm in training and combat, far above the others.
I enjoyed every minute I spent with them.

Not really. Delta has recruits from all over the US Army including Green Berets TIER 2 units. Delta is the next level up, and has its own selection process. In the UK our SF (or Special Operations, using US jargon) do much of the stuff Green Berets do and all the other SF stuff. UK also has other special units for specific functions , like Pathfinders and Mountain Leader Royal Marines, who do some of what Green Beret do. Difference is, the US silos roles into separate units, as they have so much money and men. UK do more with less organisations...

Excellent video. I was in SF and MACVSOG 67 -68. I am very impressed at how much SF has evolved. The training, gear, etc. Back then SF was not on your list of smart things to do for career. We were often considered black sheep by higher ups. But for "some reason" the powers that be wanted us. And what we accomplished.

But what made the most difference for me…. helped me and my friends to stay Alive…was the SF Team Leader, a SFC that we called ‘Stony’, he saw that I was super amped…he took the time to set me down and explain what to look and listen for…the signals that something might be wrong…and maybe most importantly, he taught me to relax whenever it’s possible!
His advice…considering the Source…allowed me to make an instant shift to a far more survivable perspective and approach! Although, I still had many more lessons to learn in a Combat Zone…I will never forget one of the first lessons; taught by a man didn’t have to even say a word to me, but cared enough to help me get my mind RIGHT!! Benning (where I was born), and one of his men had recovered from 3 bullet wounds in Vietnam and was about to be shipped back. So the young man put on his dress uniform and went to a local bar and got drunk where the Mps found him...they brought him back and he got up on a turret and was screaming "what are you gonna do? send me back to Vietnam???"...so my dad had HIMSELF arrested instead of the young man. But the women were awesome too. His second wife's first husband was 19 when 2 and a half weeks into his first and only tour he had the lower half of his face blown off. He is still alive thanks to his wife. Told she could not she went and got herself to Japan and was at his side there and for the 7 plus years that followed in Walter Reed. She saved his life. Kent endured two skin grafts from his back that took a year each and both failed. He does not wear a prothesis. THIS IS COURAGE. What my mom endured is also amazing and she thinks the spouses of today have it better because they can skype. She sometimes went months between contact with my dad with 4-5 kids (4 for his first tour in Vietnam) and pregnant with the fifth during the second after which she had a major break down, alone without him. My dad was my best friend and I miss him so much it's hard to explain. He had retired as a Lt. Col.! He lost his best bud in 9/11 in the Pentagon and I like to think he and Chuck are together again. I once read in a book at the time my dad was training in Massachusetts that they were considered the smartest men in the USA and I am proud to say my son follows in his footsteps; he is a civil engineer engineering an underground depot as we speak. Graduated top of his class Virginia tech! Please pray for his sister my daughter she has breast cancer and we will find out soon if my son carries the same genetic mutation. Their dad does.

I'm a proud son and nephew of three of the strongest men I ever knew. I never served but thank them in heaven everyday for their sacrifices. I see how soft americans are and imagine a civilian training similar to what these men go through. I feel we would be stronger as a country if we found our inner strength as these men have. I believe service to our country should be mandatory for at least two years . Watching people burn or disgrace the flag sickens me and has me wondering where our great Nation is going . Thank you for every sacrifice you've made to give me the liberty I enjoy. Thanks Dad, Uncle Larry and Uncle Lamar for teaching me to stand and never think selfishly.

The sacrifice is that they lost themselves to go through this training and after have to be re taught to prioritize their own feelings , needs and wants after neglecting their emotions and inner child for so long. I never understood until I met a green beret and I’d ask how he was feeling and he would never answer me. Untouchable.

God bless the United States Army , the United States of America and our special forces ! To the men who rush towards danger as others are running away - my hat goes off to all of you past , present and future. Without you all , we would have no nation to call our own and no freedom to live as we see fit . Fight fight fight no matter the cost. Remember your Oath and support and defend the constitution of the United States of America. Hoorah

That's all nice and dandy. But are you not being invaded at the moment? You have open borders, mass immigration, immigrants being flown around on internal flights. And dropped off in red towns and cities. Is that not unconstitional ?.
Sorry, I'm 🇬🇧 Veteran worked along side the US marines in the liberation of Kuwait. Then with the Marines at Al qahim and the 101 in Beji. Good guys and professional. Not as good as us. But close enough 😁 obviously we have our problems too. But obviously I'm curious as to what is going on over the pond.
Keep low, move fast, stay safe

@@martinleifnymark7432 why is Britain so arrogant with their military right now? If you were so elite, you wouldn’t be spending all your time saying how great you are on a UA-cam comment section.
