Let's do the long story.
My man.
This dude fought for our country and is currently still fighting his Boston accent.
Helicapata. 🚁🚁🚁
LMAO
He's trying to live
But fuck 😂😂
That accent doesn't seem to fade past a certain point. He's always going to be saying Septemba and Novemba lol
Omg 😂😂😂
"Let's do the long story."
That's why we love Shawn Ryan!
💯
I came here to say the same shit.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
One of my guys took a 7.62 on his left trap, went clean thru and canoed his trap muscle, when this happened, he was manning the .50 turret, I was next to him shooting with my rifle, pulled down to reload, and dropped my mag, when I picked it up, that’s when I realized something was wrong, there was a splatter of blood against the plywood wall behind us, (we were engaging from a watch tower) and I asked him to come down so I could examine him, at the time I was a E-6, and he was an E-4, he refused so I had to force him by stating that’s an order, he came down and i couldn’t believe what I was looking at, this man’s shoulder area looked like a V, and he didn’t even realize it, he kept telling me “I’m good to go sarnt I’m good to go”, I had to force him to look at his shirt, it was bright red from the neck to his mid section, and od green from his mid down. I ordered him to go seek med treatment. His adrenaline must have been to the moon. SPC Resto was one of the greatest soldiers I ever led, and to this day I have the honor to have him as a life long friend.
Men of this breed continue to amaze me
That will never change.
This guy is like real life cyborg. Fucking crazy
men of a dying breed
I initially found Nick from the SRS. He is an inspiration. Imagine getting blown apart and fighting your way back to the point where you can return to active duty, like he did. That dude loves the United States of America. It's dudes like this who stand ready in the middle of the night to meet the wolves at the door. A real American badass.
Damn right. A solider of Gods nation. No doubt.
@@9FisterSpit9 lol god's nation...
How is this dude a Green Beret. He’s way too emotional and reckless
@@Ccastine9 We are all so grateful that it isn't yours.
@Swizzle MeNizzle please inform us on what it takes to be a green beret
"Short story is.."
"Lets do long story"
YES! I love these interviews, Nick thank you for everything you've done.
I love how humble nick is. Admitting to every mistake he technically made.
Humility is essential
Yeah, but at least to me, his tone sounds as if he's on *extreme EDGE* buy what he's been through, what he seen, felt, heard, smelled, being blown apart & shot multiple times, and of course while telling his stories, I understand completely.
I just hope my man, I know will never be able to be 100% "healed" both physically AND mentally, I just hope he can find some type of peace.
He has earned multiple lives length of peace. True warrior.
Nick is from my home town! It’s nice to hear that accent. I’m so glad that these men are out there protecting me especially now that I was diagnosed with ALS. I can’t protect myself but these guys help me rest a little easier at night. Thank you guys for your service it’s much needed now more than ever.
Keeping you in our prayers 🙏
What town is he from if ya don’t mind me asking
Very much doubt that you’d be any less safe or that your life would be affected in any way whatsoever if this guy ceased to exist….
Can also be argued that he and other members of our armed forces have made our lives more at threat by terrorists by giving them fuel for their hate for Americans. More terrorists today than before GWOT (global war on terror) kicked off. (blame would be on our govt, not these fellas tho…)
Can't imagine the strength it takes to be this committed to our country, thankyou.
It’s his commitment to his brothers that drives him. We love you Nick👍🙏❤️🇺🇸🤙
@@leroybishop2245 you nailed it dude
I can tell u from experience its the commitment to ur brother to ur left and right LEGIO PATRIA NOSTRA 🇲🇫🇺🇲💪🎇
Comitted to the rixh and the capitalist
First time hearing that warm, soothing New England accent on this channel, its a welcome surprise :) I am from NJ but attended university in Providence for 5 years and I feel like NJ and NE culture mesh very well. I feel homely around folk from there
Lmao I’ve never heard a New England accent referred to as soothing lol
I've heard Nick's story before. Now he's one motivated bad ass warrior. Amazing warrior with the drive to never let anything hold him back.
Its crazy he got wounded in Septembah, Novembah, and Decembah.
Learning of nick a good while back when some random video went viral is what inspired me to get in shape. His literal “no fucking excuses” attitude pushed me. Never met the man, but I owe him a lot. Idk why but listening to him and hearing his story hit home.
Glad to hear it. Thank you
@@NickMACHINELavery holy hell. Thanks for the reply boss!!
I absolutely LOVE to hear the accountability. "I know what I'm supposed to do, and completely do something else" Oh. I wish the rest of the world worked this way..
Humility and ownership… essential
It's true and you bring up a very good point. But at the same time, he's putting his team at further risk and potentially putting himself in a position that costs more American lives. Look, I'm not trying to be too critical of him because emotions sometimes get the best of all of us, but you can definitely tell the difference between Nick and a tier 1 type operator. The difference being someone that has the ability to completely remove emotional decision making and making training based, tactical decisions based solely on objectives in a manner that is devoid of thinking on a personal level. He put everyone in his vehicle at risk by jumping out of the vehicle and sprinting 250 yards into a complex attack.
@@Danlovestrivium i get what u mean..but sometimes these guys have to improvise..these spec ops guys training gets updated all the time..its not like he panicked..its just that, for him it was his buddies above everything...even Delta guys made some decisions based on emotions and heart...no human can be truly robotic, specially after seeing your buddies get blown up...22 SAS are ABSOLUTELY T1, and theyre trained to improv and make decisions in real life combat..commanding officers can only do so much, and theyre human too
Hero. Thank you for your service at such great cost. Green berets are a rare breed. Blessings from an Air Force vet
Thank you for your service
Nick I’m a civilian 33 yr old New Yorker but I have the upmost respect for beast like you! God bless you and your fam
The world NEEDS to hear more of your story!!!!!
I heard a guy above you inspired to get in the gym lose weight .
Your story will bring out people from their own hell’s seeing and hearing your story of No excuses
Thanks for sharing God bless you and the fam
I remember seeing Nick doing deadlifts on one leg at the THOR3 facility. He’s different 🫡
🫡
Nick: "Quick story is we're comin' back from an op'..."
Shawn: "Let's do the long story."
Nick: "Ok. We're coming back from an op'..."
😂
That got me too😂
My man gotta be the best host just letting people actually talk
Absolutely lol
I been watching these heroic stories lately. I been battling addiction and these stories help me. How can I wine and complain that it's hard to get off when other people have way worse things happening to them. It's amazing to see the things they over come when in battle.
You can be a warrior too, everyday is a new battle. Win the day and never stop.
exactly brother! was a heroin addict, been free for sometime now...all i watch are these SoF men...theyre what motivates me to stay fit and be a real man, not some youtuber shouting and telling you to chase money and flex
Proud to have met this legend of a man/warrior and learn from him. God bless Nick and his family. Thank you for the great content shawn.
All my heroes live on Shawn Ryan's show.
I don’t think they actually live there bro. I think they go home after the podcast. 🤷🏻♂️
@@Bluepickles333 Thanks for clearing that up. Bro.
@@mightbefire I got you 😉
Honestly, I’m glad that’s been made clear. @L coming in for the save. Appreciate you bro.
That was a painful attempt at humour
Nick, you and all of these other interviewees and all of the other vets are true heroes. This country owes you and all of these other vets from the special ops forces and the regular forces a huge debt.
Nick Lavery is one of my favorite stories to listen to. Awesome you got to hang out with the machine
What you got man
after what hes been through, and being qualified to go back to war with one fucking leg.. keeping that strong mentally, literally eating bullets and taking enemies down like a real hero...yoU can forget about no damn silver star nor the medal of honor.. just at the fact he came back alive ..he deserves more than that, hes above the medal of honor and is a perfect example of it. God was watching over him to keep him alive no matter what the circumstances were..
Worked with him outside of kabul in '15. Definitely a stellar dude
Man is a beast.
Beasts are scared of him.

@@to8860 I'm not getting in his way...lol Just want him on my side.
this guy is Boston to the core
Exactly what I was thinking😂

We need more stories from this gentleman. Semper Fi
Love your interview method. Zero interruptions and you let the guest tell their story. Keep it up bro.
This man is 1 out of 100k you just don’t make these guys to often he’s very unique the ultimate soldier and not talking about Van Dam
Thank you
This man is just built differently. I've heard his story. Great guess to have Shawn.
I'm so happy I discovered this show, lots of advertisement but the content is 110%
The Shawn Ryan Show is without doubt the most interesting and well produced podcast on one to one interviewing. Intelligent questions, pauses, guests, lighting and subject matter. For me personally, the fact that Shawn is a double hard bastard with near parallel experiences as some of his guests makes it very authentic. Cheers bro 👊❤️🔥✌️
"well let's do the long story" love this
“Let’s do the Long story” Shawn recognizes a good story teller 👀✅
Good stuff and great exchange.
Another good video. Thank you for your insight and knowledge. I appreciate you Shawn.
Holy shit I can’t wait for the full version!!!
Its already out
I was wounded and after partial recovery I was sent to another batallion. That batallion was scheduled to go back in 90 days but I was still an outpatient at home station. As a result I was determined to be "nondeployable" when my new company went through pre-deployment SRC. But they did it by adding a form that said this to my deployment file. I just took it out and threw it away, then handed the file to my SGM. After I missed a few appointments, the docs called my unit and asked what was up. Of course, I was at a FB downrange. I got yelled at a lot, but they let me stay with the team. But I was permanently assigned off a team once I got back to CONUS, until I retired about 2 years later.
I can't thank you and people just like you enough for your service, but absolutely thank y'all for your service with all my heart !
that dude is a freaking beast and he talk about it like it was "just another tuesday" I dont know if I could ever be this emotionally strong and compartmentalized.....although I worry that if he doesnt let it out to someone he may go the route of wayyyy too many vets and unalive himself......If you are a Vet and you are reading this, see a therapist, even if you dont need it or even if you dont want people looking at you like your crazy, please see a professional, PTSD can be very very sneaky and many vets will have a first flare up and end their own life before they even know how bad of a problem it is......Please see a professional, you are our heroes and protectors and we want you around
Agree with all. I however am in a great place.
This is the best Boston accent I’ve Eva heard .
This is a nail biting, intense interview. Nick is a true badass in every aspect of the word. I'd hate to be a combatant on the other side of the line. You see the paws on that man? They are massive
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your service.
Wicked combat story. Props to another superstar soldier getting down through there for our country 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸. Love & respect to our great nation and to all of you who served.
FWIW, Billy Waugh went on leave to Thailand (during VN) while he was on convalescent leave from his wounds, then just went back to a team and was AWOL from Walter Reed. Frank Miller (MOH recipient in VN) was re-assigned to the B team after his severe wounds, and did pretty much the exact thing Nick here did. When he was told to go back to HQ he told them to kick rocks and dared them to give a MOH recipient a court martial. They ended up slipping him a roofy and he woke up on a plane halfway to the US strapped down to a litter.
My neighbor is retired E9 Green Beret. He never talks about his missions or what he did in the Army other than the fact that he made E9 in only 15 years of service.
Do you ask? Ask.
You are an amazing person. Thank you for your sacrifices for our country and freedom
Very sincerely, thank you for your service, sir.
America!!!💪🇺🇸💯🦅!!!
You know you're a pipe hitter when the CSM tells the doc "good luck" 🤣🤣🤣
yes my thoughts too THE MAN IS A BEAST
SEPTEMBAH, NOVEMBAH lol the accent is amazing
Takes a real man to point out his own mistakes.
The accent got me for a second when he was saying the months Septemba, Octoba, Novemba. It instantly brought me back to my old business partner who is from New Jersey, and when he drank the accent got thicker as the night went on.
He's from Boston. A lot different than ny/nj accent
Fact 🥃

Major respect for every honorable veteran that's ever served. Thank you for your service and your sacrifice. Thank you for fighting for all of us. Thank you for fighting for me.

Fighting for what exactly? Black Americans are more of a threat than the Taliban.
The man is a interesting mix of super shark like type A but also he seems genuine and as weird as it sounds for such a giant killer the dude seems humble.
Thank you
Much love from the 508 Brutha!! 🇺🇸🦅✌🏻

7:58 “Well let’s do the long story”
One of the many reasons why this show is so potent.
The accent makes him 10x more badass! Thank you brother ❤
I remember this guy when we were waiting to go to selection. Physical specimen for sure.
As a north easterner i also would call someone an idiot after they shot my face. All chuckles aside though a man is someone who’s owned up then grew up and im very interested in hearing the rest of your story. Thank you for your service sir. 🇺🇸
One of the nicest, coolest dudes I met. The phrase "one legged man in an ass kicking contest" is a threat if it's Nick though
Salute you from UK
This guy is a beast.
I just wanna say Thank You 🇺🇸
Small and probably insignificant observation…I’ve noticed the Delta Force and Green Berets are so much bigger in size than the DevGru and Seal guys.
Yes.
Swimming slims you down drastically.
They’re they’re the door kickers
One of the most badass dudes ive seen. Dude is crazy man doing what most dont with two legs and two arms.
Wow 😮💨 such an intense scenario about as intense as it gets
Of all the special forces, the Green Berets have alway been my favorite. They are so awesome lol
Nick is a monster, the kind we need more of! What a wonderful soldier.
Best thing to do with a wound like that, and I actually had the same wound size on my forearm and used this method which resulted in a completely healed wound in 2 weeks and no scar in a month: pack the wound with huge amounts of Neosporin. It will provide a matrix for skin to build faster while keeping infection out and the wound open. Or make your own ointment out of plantain oil, comfrey, arnica and echinacea extract, sulphur and calendula.
❤️ Green berets ..... I can't wait to see this show 😃
9 lives, one leg, and 2 huge balls. Respect
Damnit man I’m an idiot! I’ve been wondering when you would post the full videos no know I’m not even on the Shawn Ryan Show channel.
You never felt pain as when they pack a wound like that and to get the packing all the way in with a popsicle stick. When you really feel pain is in the removal, the gauze sticks to the nerve ends.
Yea. It sucks
God Bless you guys and thank you for my freedom!
Damn hell of a story. Sadly it cut short of the full story. I love Shawn and his interviews. But this was just a UA-cam tease. Now I have to search for the rest of the story with spotty info. Aggravating to say the least
I’m another lifetime I would like to think i joined the military. I’m 28 and still think about it but seeing how a lot of these guys regret even going over there and fighting makes it seem like it wouldn’t be worth it. I just feel as a human being most of us don’t ever live up to our potential. We are meant to be machines that gets better every day. I have a son and wife and parents that love me so I wouldn’t do that to them but I swear if I grew up with no one really caring for me I would have gave my life up for USA. You get a chance to have brothers for life as well
same here man...its just that i grew up with too much care, and that made me care a bit too much..also i never knew of SOF guys until late into my 20s..i was raised into believing that earning as much as u can, or getting into politics and achieving power was the ultimate thing to do...but no, these guys are!
Real stand up men
This is a story that hits hard! No more ex CIA alien conspiracy theorists please.
Oh, but thousands of people love that alien shit and that helps Shawn and is also well-liked by many fans. It's not always about the individual but the collective.
The alien stuff is as real as real gets. Maybe one day you'll realize that but I've seen them and I already know this world is so much more than we can see and we're told
