Freakin’ loved the put your hand up line. Reminded me of the just ask for a lens wipe line from a while ago.
Always enjoy your reviews Lance. Question is, if the current crop of lightweight, lower power eebs were as good as they are now when you bought your first full power ebike- which one would you have bought?
I think I would have gone light weight- but I am super happy with my Rail- and no motor rattle!!!!
Anyway, hope you are feeling more yourself soon.

I think I will stick to full fat e bikes for time being. I can see the appeal with the light bike but I really like the power up the hills and I don't like range anxiety. My next bike will probably have a bigger battery not smaller. Who knows maybe I will get more than one embt. Wife might not like that.

Great review Lance...I've bought the new Trek fuel exe 9.7...I was a little concerned about range and power to get up the climbs but after 150k's my range anxiety has eased.
It definately takes more rider input to get the max out of the battery...I miss the torque coming from a Rail 7 but love the lightness (no downhill chatter) and comparison to the non ebike feel..I managed to get up stitch up in power mode 1..used power mode 2 on my 3rd attempt...did 40k's on a range test around Woodhill from the 360w battery.

I must admit I could live without the Bosch rattle. I have got used to it but there is something magical about a quiet bike downhill. I think range anxiety only affects me when riding with others. You can lower the power but then I can't keep up. Use more power but run out first. When you are on your own you really don't care so much. I bought a second battery and used that last week in Rotorua. Can you get a second one for your bike?

That TQ motor sounds like a great way forward for quieter e motors. Hopefully they produce a bigger version of the that motor for full power bikes?

@@bestdayevermtb2 There is a 160w battery extender that looks like a water bottle and fits in the bottle holder...cool idea...I'll need that if I head out with mates on their full powered ebikes...they will leave me in their dust..the 50nm motor doesn't propel you up hills like the 85nm....you have to switch power modes more often.
I rode Riverhead last weekend...the rooty uphill bit on communial just over the little wooden plank is a test..you have to choose your line more wisely...I got 26ks out of the battery in power mode 2 riding slippery tracks that day.

Great review Lance. A real quiet bike on the jumps. I've just seen one of your vids jumping your old levo - noisy as hell. This one is whisper quiet... and you seem to riding a lot smoother on it - or it could be the go pro effect

Nice video Lance I think I will stick to my Trek rail . You won’t catch me taking a battery out and riding a bike with out a motor getting to old for that carrier on lol. But yes it’s a great idea if you wanted to travel on a plane tho . So looking forward to watching your next video mate

Personally I don't think I would as my sole bike. Would buy one as a second bike for certain situations but given all my friends are on full fat and I am not that fit. I will stick with the ktm.

Yep definitely like the concept of that bike as a fit young 'late 50 something'. Great review Lance. Hey can you recommend a video editing software for a beginner? I know you are a pro now, but i'm sure you remember what it was like starting out. Cheers. Nev

Thanx for the review !! Iam trying to make my mind between a ultra light build with this frame, or a full on DH dual crown monster with their Hybrid 112nm model, I have all the parts for both builds but can't make my mind.
The helium one is ridiculously cheap at this moment at 3.5k usd.

No water bottle would a potential deal killer for me. Once I was able to ditch the backpack, it would very difficult to go back to wearing one.

      @forthecreator1 2 роки тому +1

I started using a hip pack a couple of years ago. Carries a water bottle, a tube, food and tools: All I need for a 3 hour ride, and after a couple of minutes it feels like you’re not wearing it (unlike a backpack, which is always bouncing around and making my back sweaty).

    • @bestdayevermtb2

@@forthecreator1 I have a hip bag also. I use this for some rides and prefer it to a back pack. Still too small for a tripod or a drone.
