Watching this prompted me to look him up on Wikipedia and realize that the story we had previously been told about his emigration, which always seemed very strange, had just been revealed to be false. He wasn’t brought here and separated from his twin by his father. His father was dead and he was trafficked here into slavery.
Yeah it's crazy he didnt go to school until he was like 11 years old. That's what makes me think the woman's excuse that it's just how her culture is to make children do the chores and that they had consent of family to bring him over rings hollow.
He was so young, no control over his life, it's incredible what he's achieved against all odds. And reconnected with his family 😭

@@thehoneybadger1223it’s not 100% accurate because I can’t translate some of the words to English but they skip a part after the light of my eyes where she says the mind of my soul. This is a rough translation because the words she uses can not be translated to English
The poetry translation it doesn't give full expression, Somali and Arabic Language are so rich one thing can have ten words and one word can Mean ten different things!

Poor Mo, he went through so much and kept his life a secret after all these years. He was just like every human person who wanted their family and to be safe and happy.
I’m just so bloody proud of him for living his best life and being reunited with his family and despite all that becoming one of the greatest athletes in history.

This is very sad, and knowing my friend was trafficked here in very young age and now she's turned 24 and immigration never believe her and this has caused alot of trauma it's sad, there are so many people who have been trafficked from Africa to this country especially as maids?? Very sad.

FYI: The Somali community in His neighbourhood knew he was neglected by his guardians. No one knew how bad it was till now .
