- Frequently, I am requested to demonstrate the process of making annunciator lenses in a video. In this tutorial, I will guide you on the swift creation of Fire Warning and Master Caution lenses utilizing a laser and a Liberon wax stick.

Silicon glue also works fine! No clearcoat needed!
You're so lucky! Something I might recommend is a genuine aural warning module. Real fire bell, takeoff config, and overspeed sounds.

Hello, i have had to put the apache on the back bunner right now. My patreons have waited long enough for the 737SS and i need to get that finished ASAP! Then its onto the Apache.
With all the fun tools you have, I was wondering what took you so long to get a laser cutter! 😀 If you can source it, there's acrylic available that uses protective paper in lieu of plastic that I find is much easier to work with. It has the added benefit of providing a very clean edge if you use it for masking a partially painted acrylic piece.
Thanks for the idea! After living abroad in Brunei for 10 years, a laser machine was imposible to find. It wasnt until we returned to the UK, I managed to get hold of one. Infact i had it waiting for me on the drive before i even arrived in the UK. Love it though as its a great tool.
I've got some acrylic which I bought at a hardware store that i've been using in a laser cutter (glowforge). The thin protective covering that came on it was very problematic with the lasering process.
(1) I found that it burned really stinky, which makes me think it's not safe for lasering.
(2) it would sometimes melt and fuse itself to the acrylic, making it impossible to remove.
The solution that I found was to remove the protective sheet covering, and put down some blue painter's tape instead. It comes right off with no issues, and protects the acrylic surface from smolder marks, etc.
Thank you for the tips! I do actually use painter tape at times. Great for spraying dediacted lines etc on the panels after cutting or etching.
I apply painters tape and engrave through it, then spraypaint with white or black paint. I hate cleaning the wax off
I too tried that last week, but my paint lines around the tiny text looked rubbish compared to the wax infill. You probably have the technique dialed in.

Hello Mick, I tried using regular acrylic paint but it took a long time to dry and needed multiple coats. However, I found that using wax was quick and gave a great result.
Karl, what program are you running with your laser? Makes it look super easy. I have a k40.
