  • This video presents the initial trial of the Single Control Column base. Although functional, improvements can be made to simplify and speed up printing while requiring less hardware. The next objective is to implement these modifications and finalize the design.

    Hello Karl, you are a true inspiration! I'm currently building the updated single control column att it's great to get an insight into the design process like this.

    It’s great to watch you design/ build/evaluate and then refine even further! Can’t wait to see the outcome

    So elegant, I hate to see it made simpler. Great video Karl

      Thank You, there's a way more complicated version in the making with autopilot in both channels.

    Great improvement, well done Karl! 19:04 "Simple is Better". I see a chance it might fit into my self constructed base, that is alligned to your old rudder pedal construction.

    Great video, I do like at the end you say how you will redesign, print, and try again tomorrow. That would be a month endeavor for me.

    For the drill guides, create a top and bottom matched pair, both with a flat reference surface. Then it's just a case of putting both drill guides on at the same time and drilling all the top and bottom holes at the same time. Everything should be aligned, since all the holes are aligned with the reference surface when laid flat on your work bench.

    Sir I love your stuff. I cant wait to start printing some of the GA stuff. I plan on making the rudders for sure and I would like to make the Helicopter stuff as well.

    You can always cut a half moon notch in the tube to clear the spring. Or clip a 6mm wide 45° wedge from the bottom as well.

      Thanks, i did think of that, but it didn't seem elegant.

    Is there a reason for not using helical cut gears for the Hall sensor? It would give pretty much zero backlash as opposed to straight cut gears.

    Off topic question. I’ve seen an LED matrix card wired to to a mega to make 128x64 LED display. Would it be possible to do something similar but have an input matrix? A 64x64 matrix would give 4096 inputs which would be more than enough switches for any project, if each one produced a unique code that could be assigned to an event in the sim. I used to have a card made by Leo Bodnar that had an 8x8 matrix that could have a keyboard command assigned to it.

    Hi Karl. What is that blue tray called that you are working on? Would make life so much easier for me because I always lose my screws.... and I am not referring to the one my wife says is loose. :)

    Love your work. Any thoughts of doing a generic fighter stick. Where the pitch link is at the bottom and the roll link is ~half way up the stick.

    I saw on the website that you offer models as STL or CAD + STL. I may have read over it (probably) but can't find what type of CAD files are included when I decide to buy that specific package. Can you tell me what CAD filetype is(or are in case of multiple) available?

    • @helimech8152
      @helimech8152  9 місяців тому

      Hello, The CAD files are created in fusion, and they offer 12 different types of download file types. Step is certainly the main one i would chose.
