I came here to see if anyone noticed because I did and had to pick my eye balls off the floor to put them back in my head😂. I have a big fear of bugs so it kills me to know we can't really warn her at that moment to kill the bug!. 😱😱😱

I just literally did the same thing this morning. I had 12 bins and decluttered 3 bins. I dropped them off at Goodwill as well and they were so excited. I too was overwhelmed and just pulled out one at a time. Excited to watch your upcoming videos for Christmas.

I had my kids come over and we went thru all my Christmas stuff . What they didn’t want went to goodwill. I had what I was keeping and now it’s way more manageable !!

You have a very generous husband. I could never justify spending that kind of money for decor that is only out for 30 days. Wish I lived by you would love everything you donated.
We leave our decor up way longer than 30 days! And anything I don’t use I will end up returning, so we won’t have actually spent all of that money 😊
@@lovinglifeasmegan mine is up from November 1st until Whenever I feel like taking it down lol. I will put the actual stuff away that says merry Christmas but the rest stays up basically all winter long,my grandma and mom do the same,So that's just how I grew up. I keep tree up till end of January lol

I've been watching video after videos trying to find one that is relatable and motivates me. You my friend are it! I like how you went through 1st without getting overwhelmed by the big picture. Tomorrow I'm going to just go through and pull out what I know I don't want, or broken, then next day pull out and put in categories and purge each one. After Turkey day, ill decorate, and purge what I don't use! Wish me luck, and ty for the motivation happy Holidays!

It is so hard to declutter Christmas decor! It is all so fun and magical. But I'm sure it is helpful to do so so you're not overwhelmed each year you have to bring it all out. Awesome job; I know it would be tough for me!

Will definitely be decluttering this weekend. The tip to declutter prior to the holiday is so important. I had to set a small box of Halloween items to donate next year because I did it after the holiday and didn't want to donate for them to hold till next year.
I always try to make my donations before the season starts 😊
I decluttered at the end of Christmas last year!! Hardest thing I’ve ever done. Good job, girl!!!

The little gnomes! Sorta broke my heart to see them go for some reason. They are so cute! Def a good tip to donate holiday stuff before the actual holiday.
I just had to let them go 💛 they didn’t match any of our current decor and I really wanted to challenge myself to create a more magical space this year!
6 totes. You funny. I have 6 totes per room. Lol. I wish I didn't have so many. But like you said it brings me emense joy. So I keep my tubs of decor. I do try to get rid of things I do not use each year.

You make total sense with your logic but man that is easier said than done. Good for you though. I like how you definitely have a specific design or theme in mind when you decorate. My plan is to make it look like Christmas threw up in my house. Mostly kidding but I definitely could use more help with the planning and design ideas you come up with. Don’t know if you noticed, but you had a little spider friend join you on your declutter 😹. He makes his appearance on the grey tote at 4:17 and then reappears on the white garbage bag at 5:29, ahha he must love Christmas too!

I am the same way with thinking straight ahead “oh I got this, I can declutter it no problem” but then as it’s happening I’m like why did I think I can do it smh🤦🏻♀️ but then once when it’s all done it feels so good and then we get to use all our new decor out and have many memories with those goodies too! I've got some Christmas things in attic, moved to smaller house and I don't want to get rid of them some are memories and I can always change them over, change of scenery lololol
Our attic isn’t finished so we don’t have a lot of space to be able to store that much decor 😩
There was a big spider 🕷 crawling around the totes ( when you were looking in the red tote and had the red and gray tote on the right) and on the white plastic bag! 😱 🎄🎄

I have tried to declutter my Christmas decor, but I can’t I just love all my decor and I don’t what to part w/ it. I only buy a couple new items each year so it doesn’t get overwhelming.

Omg good for you girl. I'm single mom of 3 work 50:hours a week to keep the lights on and food in the fridge. So jealous. You work hard you deserve it. Enjoy the holidays with your family.
Don’t be jealous. 💛 I’ve struggled too. Kinsley’s first Christmas I charged $60 worth of gifts to a credit card. She had 5 presents to open under our $30 Walmart unlit & undecorated tree. We had no decor around the house and no lights outside. 💛
Remember, decor & gifts aren’t what make the season magical. 💛💛

Megan donation is great and thoughtful but maybe post the decluttered items in like item groups for fb marketplace sale. Just a thought.
I prefer to make a donation, that way it’s not sitting around my house waiting for people to pick it up. The longer it sits, the more likely I am to second guess & keep it around 😳
I agree with you 100% especially the rae dunn.. I can't believe that she actually donated those I would have made a group sold it all in a group or something because I like to donate as well but here's my issue is I paid money for that stuff and then you take it to donations but they don't donate it to anyone they put it on the shelf and they sell it and then they make money off of stuff that we purchased That's my whole process in my brain when I think about certain items that I'm actually donating and things that I could still get money for...

I almost had a heart attack when you said you spent on Christmas decor 😳 I only say that because I’m not a person who decorates for the holidays… I have a tree & 1 tote that holds everything for the tree & house…. Pretty sparse up in here! I can’t wait to see how you decorate as I love to see other peoples I just can’t live with it myself ❤️
I love Christmas decor! It makes me so happy 🤗 and most of that will end up being returned, so while I did spend a lot…it will end up being a lot less by the time I finish decorating

Nope! I had a decent idea of what I already had, and I knew that I was taking our decor in almost a completely different direction. I planned to declutter everything all along 💛

This is the first time I’ve ever purchased this much decor in the beginning of the season. For my entire adult life I’ve waited until the end of the season and only purchased clearance items under $3 to save for the next year. 💛

I honestly didn’t need to know how much you spent. I also know my husband would never ask me to get rid of stuff, if I wanted buy new stuff. This is just my opinion.
Exaggerating how much I spent caused you (and a lot of other people) to comment on this video right away. Those comments boost engagement and help the video to do well in the algorithm
If my husband is feeling overwhelmed with something in our home, seasonal decor included, then I’m so happy that he feels comfortable enough to share that with me. Communication about our wants and needs makes for a very healthy marriage.

Are you just kidding that your husband told you...... If I love it I keep it. Doesn’t matter if I use it every Christmas or not.
It’s his house too, and he is the one who handles the stress of storing all of these things. We have a small house with very little storage space.
So yes he TOLD me that he was feeling overwhelmed, that we did not have any more space for so many new items, and that I would need to help him by decluttering the things that were no longer needed/wanted.
I guess I need to to help me understand how communicating our wants and needs is a bad thing? 🙄
