I loved hearing about your grandparents house, we have a place about a half hour from us that we visit every year that sounds just like your grandparents house! They've been on the news, and they are open to anyone to visit and it is MAGICAL. However, it's not as large as your grandparents so I can't even imagine the the kind of magic you would feel going to your grandparents!

You outdid yourself. I have to say a pet peeve I have is seeing decorations with leaves piled up. But you my dear made my day. You took a few minutes and blew those suckers out. Lol. I grew up with a negative Nancy about Christmas and Holidays in general. I promised myself that I would decorate every Holiday and not tell my kids how I hate Holidays. I'm thankful I was able and still able to decorate and my kids carry on with tradition and decorate themselves. We all live in a row and our displays are massive and beautiful 😍. We all do the outside together right after Thanksgiving Lunch. Thanks for sharing your memories.

@@lovinglifeasmegan I’m glad you are creating some of that joy with your own family. I was lucky enough to have my grandparents (all 4 of them) into my late 30’s. I lost my grandma 3 years ago… I too miss them ❤️

My dad would go on the roof from our 2story home just to put up the lights and place reindeers. Christmas was his favorite holiday. He passed away in 2011. Christmas is now my daughter's favorite holiday.

My 19 year old niece and I still do crafts together, and this fall we decoupaged a wood J and Y and used small wreaths that we decorated with ribbon and bells, for the O. I helped bring my niece up and we are still really close.

I’m with you Megan, my grandparents were my Christmas magic growing up. Without them, I would have had nothing. I try to continue that joy with my children too. Your home looks amazing!

I love Christmas lights. My sister and I drive around our area to find the best lights on homes.
We drive around almost every single night after thanksgiving to look at the lights! It’s one of our favorite things to do 😍

I know exactly how you feel when it comes to the memories of your grandparents. My granddaddy had such special touch and with the help of my grandmother, they made Christmas time special. I was fortunate enough that their enthusiasm rubbed off on my momma, so when my granddad did past away, her and my grandmother kept the tradition going. Now they are all gone but all those memories live on.

So beautiful!! I love Chritsmas lights too. I remember driving around with my mom (who passed in 2013) looking at all the huge displays in the "rich" areas. I now do the same with my kids and hubs.

I enjoyed your grandparents story, what a beautiful memory to have. My grandparents always went all out for the holidays too and mine are no longer with me either I can relate with you.
