Megan I can relate to your story, when my daughter was 2 years old her Dad and I divorced before Christmas and I had absolutely no money. I had a tree that was left by my in laws in the attic. My grandmother was visiting and she helped me make raggedy Ann doll and a matching outfit for my daughter and the doll. She was so excited with the doll but like you I cried, however it was a special Christmas because it was about just her and I. I love your tree I a, almost bought a flocked tree but living in Florida it didn’t seem natural 😂. Thank you for always sharing with us and giving my the idea to help me get the smell of a real tree 🌲

Wow that made me cry !!I had one Christmas when I was getting divorced and I didn’t have a dollar to buy any Christmas gifts and at the last minute my friend took me to toys r us and. Your tree looks beautiful. I think just creating a warm and cozy home with decorations gives everyone the best feeling. And I try not to go over the top with gifts. My budget won’t allow. A nice family gathering and meal means so much to me.
We didn’t go over the top with gifts this year either. Our children were very consistent & intentional with what they put on their lists…which made it very easy on our wallets 💛
That is such a beautiful tree!!!! Your story tugged at my heart. I relate so much with you. My son is around the same age as Kinsley. I struggled with post partum depression terribly. We chose to go down to one income so I could stay home with him but goodness gracious we were so broke. My husband and I still look back on that time and know that it was only by the grace of God that we got through that time. I was a wreck and so was our bank account but it’s incredible to see how the Lord got us through those times. It certainly makes you so thankful when you get something new even when it’s a simple as a Christmas tree! Those things matter so much!!!! 💜

Many of us go through tough times during the holidays and luckily for me it’s been awhile since it’s been this tough, so although I feel bad, I know things always look up. I watch UA-cam videos to be motivated to make do with what I do have, and get ideas for the next holiday season (which I plan to be working and able to do what I couldn’t do this year) Thank you for always being such a light to me, whether it’s the holiday season or just a regular day. She does remember it! But she doesn’t remember anything bad about it 💛 we talk about it every Christmas season. I think it’s important to reflect, helps us to stay humble & grateful 💛💛💛

I try my best to share whenever I feel comfortable. I’ve experienced many struggles in my lifetime. Those experiences make me so grateful to be where I am now
My mom bought this tree and it really is so beautiful in person too. We have had some very lean Christmas. Like you my daughters 2nd Christmas we had to get help from a charity to get her presents and us some food. It was a rough 2 years and while we have some ups and downs we have been able to give back to other families over the years.
💛 I love that! We do the same in our local community! Those struggles definitely help to keep us humble & to keep a servants heart 💛

I can also relate, sometimes it still makes me cry when I look at my 3 grown sons. My x left us when my 50 year old was 6 months old for another woman. (He's my baby) I raised them solo until they were grown and left home.

I can relate to that christmas story too. I had a Christmas like that when my 2 kids were barely teens. We even had to delay Christmas day till the 26th. But we did shop for each other a day late.. I was devastated. But my kids are 39 and 42 now. They both say that looking at all Christmases, that one stands out as their all time favorite. I made it work with what I had. Anyways, that tree skirt is fabulous. The tree is beautiful. Great job. Have a good week.

I feel we have gotten so commercialized that we have forgotten the true meaning of Christmas 🎄 I got some Christmas decor from Dollar General as I was so shocked at how much they had and affordable and cute. I took my tree down before Christmas 2019, I lost my son that year. I haven't been able to put any tree up, I finally put up some decorations last year, I will put up some this year but no tree, I'm healing but the tree is too painful.

Megan, your story about Kinsley's 2nd Christmas made me think back to when I was married to my 1st husband, & I basically HAD to be each kid in HIS family a Christmas gift which didn't leave me with enough money to really get my own daughter (not his daughter) anything. I felt like a lover & a bad mother. But things are so much better for me now.

I think most of us in the early time of marriage and becoming parents have struggled. I think those times happened in order for us to be grateful for later down the road when things may not be as hard. If we never have bad times we never know to appreciate the better times of life as much. I am very impressed with your tree. Beautiful. I've heard so many horror stories of ordering furniture I've been very hesitant to order anything. Hopefully you have better luck with the new sofa this time.

And ugh seems like UPS no matter where in the world is messing up my friends ordered a fire stick and delivered it somewhere else luckily they got a new one though. And I’m struggling with money myself now and Xmas presents are hard to get just wish my family would be more understanding with that me knowing I have a learning disability and I can only work part time but some of my family members don’t get that. And I love giving and I can’t go all out like I always do. I haven’t been feeling my best lately physically and emotionally and watching your videos cheer me up. My sister passed away on December first, I'm the only family that she had left except for her daughter. I had to explain to my kids and my neice who is now with us that we won't be doing Christmas this year. I have to pay for final expenses for her and don't have it. I feel bad because not only did my neice lose her Mom I can't even give her a Christmas. I made a go fund me to try to get help with final expenses but that hasn't gone any where. In the last few years we've lost my mom, dad, husband, and brother. It's been rough but this one was the hardest. She was the last of my siblings left. 😢💔

No, I've never shared it on UA-cam before. We always get a live tree and decorate it as a family. I don't film my children, so I've never shared any tree decorating. But this year we are putting our live tree in the family room, so it was the perfect opportunity to share some Christmas Tree magic with UA-cam!
