I liked it far more when Spider-man actually had a snappy sense of humor. He could be awkward in small doses which added to his relatability, but it was never a main characteristic of him. Even when he was self-deprecating he still had a fun confident rhythm. This Avengers game version is just a pitiful wet blanket, and nothing like the Spider-man I love.
Agreed 100% Peter can be a bit of an a*s with his humour, which is the point most of the time as he’s insulting the bad guys. Best examples of Spidey’s humour done right are the 90’s series and the Spectacular cartoon imo
@@HatKidPeck I was about to say that you couldn't possibly be talking about the show. Loved it as a kid, but watched it recently and was sorely disappointed.
you also made a good point about none of Spidey's villains being used. the man's got the most well known rogues gallery out of anyone in this cast (heck, Kamala even borrows Shocker in her own comics since she's so original and developed), and none of 'em could make it? Doc Ock? Rhino? Chameleon? anybody? no? okay
I guess maybe taskmaster but he's a black widow, captain America, Deadpool, avengers pretty much an every hero villain like absorbing man or juggernaut.
I like how the replies had nothing to do with you congratulating our boy on getting married and how long you've been watching him. I for one also think that's amazing for our boy!
You really put your finger on exactly why I bounced so hard. I downloaded this with some excitement, then played for a bit, then went back to Spidey remastered on PS5. I got so confused trying to figure out what move I needed to do for the card, and that's not limited to Spidey, that's everyone.
The segmented sleeves in the Insomniac Spider-Man game are the only ones that haven’t bugged me. It took me ages to even notice it and even knowing it’s there it doesn’t jump out and grab your eyes to scream “look! Something’s missing here and you can never unsee it.”
And that segment in the sleeve at least makes sense with the fact that the red shoulder is a separate piece that sits on top of the blue, which is why there’s a segment on the trapezius area as well as the sleeve. Quite ironically, for the new sequel coming out, they removed the segment on the sleeve but kept the trapezius segment, which now makes it look like his suit has blue bra straps….
I actually really like that Spiderman is one of the few super heroes that’s a heavy hitter but isn’t drawn with a body like Broly or The Rock. Also it’s funny that all gameplay of Marvel’s Avengers Spidey always looks scuffed, it’s like the environments can’t handle his skill set.
While I'm a simp for giant Chad body 90s cartoon spiderman, I do think the best middleground would be slimmer, really defined and acrobatic looking. Type of build if an Olympic gymnast never ever stopped exercising lol And also yeah, video of this game really emphasizes how they've just badly copy and pasted animations from the insomniac game.
Yep, Spider-man is superhuman with the strength to match, but his power set excels at speed, agility, and stealth. So it makes sense that he's lean like a trained dancer and acrobat than a body builder (it's one of my pet peeves that Spider-Man costumes always feature fake muscles). In fact, in the early comics, Steve Ditko always rendered Spider-Man as scrawny to reinforce that he's a teenager but to also incorporate the uncanny poses he make that give the character a subtle creepiness. But did Square Enix really need to add those out of breath sound fx when he's wall-crawling at normal speed when Insomniac could have you sprint him up a sky scraper at 30+ mph?
@@KakashiHatake-mz6ug PS4 Spiderman has my favorite build. He's as muscular as a guy can get while still looking lean, agile, and flexible. Basically the peak human form for someone with super strength and agility.
What kinda irritates me about Spidey’s voice the most is also the pitching up, not just because it generally sounds weird, but because.. well, if I’m being honest, its a weird decision based on WHO’S voicing him. Sean Chiplock’s normal voice already kinda sounds like Spidey. A little *too* deep, ever so slightly, but still believable as a wisecracking young adult. Heck, you could just probably take the lines he did as say, Mista in JJBA, and put them over Spidey’s in-game scenes and theyd sound more natural.
I didn't know who he is prior to this so I looked up some performances and dude has range! And you're right, If he wasn't so high pitched his voice would lend really well for Spidey.
I love Sean, his performance as Rean Schwarzer was great and fits a lot of similar beats of Spider-Man so I was hyped to hear him voicing Spider-Man, but that pitching they did was strange.
Dude... this guy can voice act!!! I had no idea who he was before (I don't watch anime) from what I heard from him playing the character you said sounds great for an adult Peter Parker! Totally a missed opportunity to have his normal voice instead of whatever the hell that high pitched voice was. Thank you for introducing that character to me.
Spider-Man missing sleeves is one of those design details I never really think about, but at the same time it always feels off when they're missing. If that makes sense.
Oh my GOD YOU SAID EVERYTHING I'VE BEEN SAYING FOR WEEKS I'm so unbelievably done with this game, and the VA for Peter makes me want to cry. The constant stuttering and awkward laughter just doesn't sit right with me.
The ONLY Spider-Man suit that cuts the belt, changes the sleeves, adds blue to the gloves and gets a pass is the TASM1 suit because it was the very first modern Spider-Man design to do any of that and it doesn't feel cheap. That one had thought put into it and I think it looks cool.
Yeah, the first time i saw it i was kinda put off by the amount of changes, specially the golden lenses, but i think it grew on me and began to like it a lot more.
@@GrandTonka same. I think a lot of people were like that with the suit. I really changed my perspective after rewatching the movie a few years ago, and then it REALLY grew on me when it was added to Spider-Man PS4 and the Remastered version
@Stephen O'Brien If you think he has it bad jodie whittaker got fucked over in the doctor who fandom as the first female doctor cuz her writers were awful lmao
No, no it isn’t Tobey Maguire is the one who made Spider-Man a nerd puss. Tom Holland’s version was characterized as he was because of the back lash Andrew got even though he is the most accurate to the comics. Tobey messed up Tom did literally did nothing wrong his story line in fact is the most accurate.
@Stephen O'Brien it really wasn’t bad at all it was honestly really interesting and you definitely have never read a Ditko Spider-Man comic cause if you did you wouldn’t say any of the things you said. His arc was the most accurate to the comics and the soft reset was even in the original comics or are you going to try and convince me that Stan’s run was stupid and forced?
@Stephen O'Brien alright point to me where Harry was best friends with Peter in high school, Peter not growing and already having everything down acting like he is in college and Gwen is a nerdy bitch wearing glasses. If you think I have shit tastes than you must have very basic tastes liking the same bs that everyone likes. Spoiler alert just because you are an old man who can’t leave the early 2000s doesn’t mean people who like MCU Spider-Man are wrong. PS I did watch Spectacular Spider-Man and although it is good you shouldn’t put down MCU Spider-Man just cause you don’t understand it.
Playing the Spider-Man dlc has made me appreciate the insomniac games a whole lot more because playing this Spider-Man dlc has made me realise what insomniac Spider-Man games could’ve been.
I love the criticism but idk why yall had any hope or expectations in the first place about this game getting better. When it comes to experienced publishers, I'm rarely if ever forgiving them for a terrible game at launch...Unless they go absolutely above and beyond(very rare), it's usually wrong to say "oh maybe the game will get better" because then they release an unfinished game at every launch. Unfinished games are unexcusable imo, there is no "making up for it" after launch...because they will exploit that mindset.
the only game ive recently forgiven after a horrible launch is destiny 2. The devs saw the backlash and immedietley went to work fixing it. Then releasing year 2 contents and updates that made the game extremely fun and rewarding.
Yeah but it is getting better and Spider-man is pretty good. His swinging just isn't super floaty like the Spider-man game but that's to be expected with the Avengers gameplay
5:44 Superheroes using social media *can* be done right. When I first heard that Batgirl was taking selfies and doing trendy things, I cringed a little. But then I watched the Harley Quinn animated series and was surprised by how well it works. It was actually an effective tool in making the character more likeable. That being said, Spider-Man is not a character that'd work well with.

@@dip.918 Not really. Spider-Man isn't an influencer in Spider-Man PS4, it's just that posts from random civilians appear in the menu screen. Which btw isn't unique to Spider-Man PS4, since The Amazing Spider-man movie game for 360 and PS3 also had that exact same feature in its menus.
@@HOTD108_ I'm pretty sure some of the messages on the board in the PS4 game are Spider-Man's, but there's not many of them. Miles definitely has more.
It doesn't seem like he is very familiar with art or design, given his criticisms. For example, the extra lines and divisions on the costume are chosen because they are aesthetically pleasing, at least to most people. They don't need a purpose other than that. The original Spider-Man costume is rather simplistic and boring by today's standards
@@rythe24 Yeah, I’m not buying it. Spider-Man being one of the few Superheroes to have little to no design changes to his original costume in the 60’s is dead proof that it still holds up to this day. Just because the extra lines and splits on the sleeves of his arms are _supposed_ to be aesthetically pleasing doesn’t mean they actually are. Him critiquing it is direct proof of that. There are things that work very well with Spider-Man’s costume and there are things that just completely don’t. This Game’s Spidey suit just doesn’t work and isn’t as good as well, say, the Classic Suit.
@@rythe24the suit was invented 60+ years ago and it’s gone through mostly minor changes with the biggest change happening around 5 years into his career when his suit was made blue instead of black
@Rangeet Ch.Lahiri because they crafted a different origin story with 3 movies so that we care about the other characters in the franchise while teaching the same lesson without making it boring. The difference is he became Spider-Man first, but the true responsibility thing was taught after a few years because as he grew up Peter did have a selfish side and in NWH Aunt May completely wiped out his selfishness to selflessness. That's why the cup he brought back had written "we are happy to serve you" that became is mantra for future as the Spider-Man.
@Rangeet Ch.Lahiri would it be fun to see the same story? I believe the most OP power spidersense was nerfed so that Peter learns it's importance shown in no way home. And a gradually growing Spider-Man instead of all at once was pretty good since Peter mentioned that his senses were dialed to 11 and he uses the mask to filter it. He told that to Tony. I hate the concept of Ironman making him a suit even though it looked really good and gave great concepts only if it was made by Peter I would've been happy but I'd say that would've been unrealistic as he is a genius but he is 15 and MCU was literally ruled by Ironman, you can blame the Winter Soldier for this, people were angry why Nick fury didn't call the Avengers in a Captain America movie, so they gave a brief Ironman in Spider-Man and people were still mad and through all that they made a great story where Spider-Man really grew up. Tbh Raimi trilogy had same storylines 3 times the only growth he did was when Ben died and when he regained his powers. Sam Raimi didn't make him do nerdy stuff even though he was nerdy, NWH redeemed all three Spider-Man in one movie and I believe that deserves an applause.
I played the beta for Avengers and I could already tell that something was very wrong with it. After having played Guardians of the Galaxy over christmas, I can tell how much passion they have for the characters in that game. By the design of the alternate costumes and even the amount of dialogue that made me feel like i was part of the team. I can tell that that the devs for the Avengers game didnt really care all that much and just left it how it was. Hopefully they learn for next time.
@@-Teague- seriously, the lego games are leagues better than this game, at least they added 2099 as a suit option in PS4 Spidey, LIKE HOW CAN YOU MISS ONE OF THE OTHER ICONIC ALTERNATE SPIDER-MAN?? this is no hate towards ps4 Spidey or Ultimate Alliance or any other good marvel game its just like you said, the lego games if EA made them, at least TT makes the DLC decently priced.
@@LocalTorchwoodIntern the Lego games are incredibly awesome, but without anything else, at their core they have two things this game never did: 1. Care. Just actually giving a crap about the development. You can tell they love the games they make just by playing them. 2. Respect for the source material. This game reeks of just checking the boxes for the most part. I think the people who wrote the plot cared especially since they included Ms. Marvel in a meaningful way but there's just no marvel love in this game. It's just corporate slog hence the EA comparison
I am playing now cuz I beat all my other games and I still can’t get into it like I need to play each character to max them out and it’s taking forever and it’s so annoying
This DLC was definitely this games last hope. The final people who weren't hard core fans for this game were interested in Black Panther and Spider-Man, Black Panther went out with a whimper and this has let down so many people, and I'm just left here wondering: how can you screw up a superhero game this bad?! I would love to know what was going on behind the scenes because this just doesn't make much sense to me yk? Congrats on the marriage man! God bless and I wish you both happiness :)
Yeah, I'm sure some info will be released after the game eventually gets the plug pulled. Another UA-camr by the name of Evan Filarca heavily believes that Avengers wasn't intended to be a Live-Service game, but Square Enix forced Crystal into making it one, because making it Live-Service was believed to be the option that would make them more money, but due to the game's poor launch resulting in a $63M loss, that was a decision that only shot them in the foot. I would not be surprised at all if this turns out to be true, Live-Service games should be designed with said model in mind, but with Avengers, the Live-Service aspects felt like an after-thought since updates don't release all that consistently and there was no build-up to any of the Wakanda stuff at all other than a throwaway line from Kate Bishop saying something like "are we going somewhere exotic, like Wakanda?" before one of the missions in her DLC. Like there was no mention of Monica hiring Ulysses Klaw and building an army, or her wanting something from Wakanda beforehand it just... happens. And the Avengers are just randomly already there as if they knew AIM was planning an attack on Wakanda or something.
I understand removing the sleeves when their meant to be gloves he can take off, so the whole suit isn't one piece. There removing them serves some purpose as it's where the invisible seam would go, versus when it's just a pointless redesign for no reason.
You can literally only do two swings in the 2000 Spider-man game, and it still looks less clunky than Avengers Spider-man swinging. Like, I can FEEL how slow and painful it is by the animation alone, and I haven't even played it.
they clearly went full lazy mode for spider man. and dint want to bother putting him in the game as promised because of the backlash and failure the game became
Every freaking alternate costume looks cheap There's something off about all of the ones pulled from the comics. Bugle Boy was cool, but they did Spider-Armor Mk. IV so wrong Really if you're playing this, you obviously have a PlayStation 4 or 5, so just go play Insomniac's Spider-Man games. Way better alternatives
It's crazy to think I started watching you back in my freshman year of highschool when you made reviews on a bunch of Spidery games, and now I'm 20 years old and you're f*cking married. Life moves too damn fast man...
You're right about wanting to turn the game off every time you play. I realized what I don't like is the combat. It's kind of like God of War, but without any sense of doing damage, and no real parrying. Timed parries and visceral damage would make the combat better.
Oh my fucking gods man I started tearing up when I read you got married. I've been following since the Spider-Man retrospective days and have so many fond memories watching your stuff, incredibly happy for you and I hope everything goes well in your life
I was always WAY more annoyed by breaking up the belt than the sleeves, but I get what you mean. I'd rather they didn't include the sleeves than add weird cuts into it. But if they go full Classic, that's fine too.
5:35 nothing wrong with having motion comic/stop motion based visuals. Some people think that's cool Now in the case of a super big budget game, yeah, they shouldn't have to resort to making a slide show in terms of visuals UNLESS, it's a stylistic choice like in The World Ends With You, which purposely does this to mimic a sort of manga/comic book style.
Time flies and it punches you like a thug, it's so nostalgic for me seeing how your channel has grown over the years, but most importantly you, remembering the time when i met your channel with the game retrospective and when you made your first spidey suit, and now you've grown to become a family man, and for that i can only say that it's been an honor to be since then.
The worst part of the whole thing is that the people who made the terrible decisions that led to the game being so bad and hated will not be penalized for it in any way. They keep their jobs and they get to keep ruining future games. Gotta love the lack of accountability for upper management.
This is why I like insomniac they care about Spider-Man and they care about the suits they’re in the game for free and when adding new suits to the game they were still free just play the (frustratingly hard) missions in the dlc and you get a suit and the rest of them are added as a free updates Raimi suit added as a free update for Christmas The fantastic four suits added as a free update for the Disney and fox deal being finalized The far from home and the no way home suits added as a free update just because the movies were releasing (even if the movie no way home suits were ps5 only) And just because a remastered version was coming to ps5 if you were ps4 owner you still got 3 incredible suits including the amazing movie suit as a free update Yet I’m seeing people go crazy about avengers Spider-Man’s costumes and I didn’t even care or like them because I knew they were just there for money plus I thought insomniac did costume designs better I had already sold my copy of avengers prior to this coming out in the summertime for a Ben 10 dvd As much as phin pisses me off in the miles Morales because she’s downright stupid at least there’s a villain to fight there’s nothing here for Spider-Man to fight other than robot number 46,853 This may be a bold statement but I’m sticking to it and I’m gonna say it right here right now this game is the superhero equivalent to battlefront 2 a game just there to collect money and the development team doesn’t give a shit I’ll admit I tried to give this game a chance at first but even when playing it I screamed out of frustration at the endless waves of robots while standing in a circle and i just wanted to play Spider-Man while playing it there’s nothing special about this game in fact I owe guardians of the galaxy an apology it actually tried and I’m looking forward to insomniac giving us Spider-Man 2 And they’re take on wolverine
I agree with you 100%. Spider-Man was the thing everyone looked forward to and his movements in the game are sluggish. Ultimate Alliance (all three of them) was what the Avengers wasn't. They had cohesive stories, a bigger cast to play as, more villains to fight, more places to explore, less repetition, and more replay value. It wasn't some big budget sellout.
I do like the Shiny blue suit too also I don't really get the big deal about the Stark suit having the black bands on it. My only issue with the suit is that the webs aren't very visible (they don't have to be as bold as Tobey's suit but at least have the webbing be black)
As a Spider-Man fan, I'll definitely pass on the Spidey DLC. In fact, I'll pass on Square Enix's Avengers in general. Glad I got Guardians of the Galaxy last Christmas.
when I saw the promotional images for this DLC I thought that at least the default suit looked good, but watching on the gameplay, it looks like he's covered in a layer of dust or that he let the suit in the washing machine for too long and it lost some of the colors
If you want a good Marvel team up game, I suggest playing Ultimate Alliance 3. Because it actually feels like love and passion was put into the game and it's characters and is fun to play. Sure the story is cheesy but at least when you finish it, you feel satisfied and have achieved something
The ONLY time I am okay with removing the red on the sleeves is with the Superior MK1 suit, as it’s essentially just supposed to be a slightly altered classic suit (it also has one of my favorite lenses designs ever!). Too bad everybody freaking forgets about it and only remembers the second one that’s a messy Alex Ross suit with extra Ock/Iron Spider arms and silver gauntlets lmao Anyway, congrats on the marriage!
I feel you on the 1st superior suit fading into obscurity, it was gone too soon. Kinda wanna give it a spin in cosplay with the whole puffy paint treatment, some Halo odst visor tutorials I've seen would come in very handy for the eyes.
It must be such a spit in the face to Square Enix that Epic Games did Spidey’s design and gameplay infinitely better in their free to play battle royale game than Square could in their paid DLC for their $60 game
6:36 you nailed it, I couldn’t figure out what it was but that’s the exact combination to describe why it just didn’t work for me. I don’t blame the actor, it’s clear they wanted a certain direction to emulate Tom Holland in shallow ways and it does remind of a combination of those two actors you mentioned EXACTLY.
Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold on a damn minute! You got married? Congratulations! As for Spidey's redesigned suit, I like it for the most part. There's only one thing that bothers me: it's the eyes. I like Spider-Man having medium to large eyes.
PLEASE do a spider-man costume design and how you'd redesign it, your rant on the costume is probably my favorite part of this whole video and I'm curious to see how you'd do a redesign!!
6:53 I can attest that Sean Chiplock definitely has the range to be a less timid and less high pitched spiderman cause he did Teba in BOTW and TOTK. Maybe not have spidey sound THAT deep voiced but yeah lol
Once I have the beginnings of the build I want for a character, I have genuinely enjoyed everyone's playstyle and moveset...but for some reason everyone but Panther is clunky af before that and I don't know why.
I know you're not entirely a spider-man channel, but I was thinking about this idea after the suit segment of this video. I'd like to see you do a ranking of all the spider-man suits over the years, from comics, shows, movies, games, you name it. Also congrats on the engagement!
@@superboy98612 yes to a point like i think its too messy but the separation parts are cool red and black is better and the spider being bigger is good

As of September 2023, Crystal Dynamics have cut support and the game has been delisted from all digital storefronts. Rest in piss, Marvel's Avengers, 2020-2023.
I think they often divide the arm sleeves in an attempt to contour the shoulder muscle? Which is dumb because there's muscular structure running down the arm anyway that would be equally interesting to highlight with the red sleeve. The red sleeves also make it clear what side of Spider-Man's arm you're looking at.
I thought Spiderman was supposed to be quippy, quick-witted and confident compared to the awkward Peter Parker? Isn't that the whole Spidey shtick? This Spidey sounds like he's afraid to raise his hand in class and his sighs sound like he would snap at any moment.
5:09 I actually really like this, like try to imagine that scene but as a 3D animated cutscene that 2D motion art looks kinda sick. Love the artstyle WAYYY better than how the game actually looks imo. Though I wouldn't want to replace every cutscene in the game with that 2D Motion animation thing since it'd get boring at times. Only thing I dont like is how bland the audio feels
Dude, I was so hyped for Spider-Man. I gave it the benefit of the doubt. I gave the gameplay a fair shake... I got him fairly high level... I was thinking he was fine. Then I looked at the suits in the marketplace. They're all sooo bad. Why????
Ya suits are a majority bad! I would love to be able to unlock the at least handful of food costumes in the game instead of paying for them. Gameplay though is great.

Really? The sleeves bit just felt like a whiney basement fanboi trying to gatekeep Spidey suits. I mean, I was with him on the mustard suit and stuff like that, but he really just seemed to nitpick about sleeves for way too long imo.
10:01 Marvel Rivals now has another Spider-Man suit that completely messes with the sleeves. I thought you just exaggerating but damn, they really are doing that more often.
In my opinion Sean Chiplocks voice as Spider-Man is alright at best could have been better. He also voiced Subaru in ReZero and Diluc in Genshin Impact in which his voice performance ranges from Good to Amazing in those projects
I actually didn't like the default suit at all, for me it looks like someone cosplaying as spider-man. Edit: 9:39 Also I feel like I've heard something similar about the homecoming suit aswell, I've always wondered why things have to "serve a purpose" instead of just simply being a design choice.
@@HeyItsThatEl I’d say the closest we got to a suit that looked like Spider-Man but also look homemade was TASM suit, even down to the web shooters it was purposely made to look more practical and homemade while still looking like a Spider-Man suit
@@HeyItsThatEl Exactly, the entire "homemade and handsewn by a teenager" irritates me a lot. Any Spider-Man costume NEVER ever looks like he made it himself, and I'm perfectly okay with that. I actually really like the Iconic Suit in this game. I love the shades of bright red and dark blue that they used, and I really like how it's segmented. Barring a few eyesores like the design of the symbol and the excessive panel lining, I'd say it's my favorite Spider-Man suit. I do agree that the insistence on constantly redesigning the classic suit is infuriating. I hate that superheroes aren't allowed to just look like superheroes anymore. I hate seeing Batman wearing mostly neutral gray suits that don't have the trunks. It looks like he's wearing a boiler suit. I just like how, at least at a distance, the Iconic Suit is very minimalist and clean, and again, I really like the color choice. I've noticed I tend to like Spider-Man suit designs that are like 10-20% more Nightwing than the classic suit is. Miles, Superior Spider-Man, the Alex Ross movie suit, the Upgraded Suit from Far From Home. They just look clean and sexy to me.
I’ll give the iconic suit one thing, it chose between sleeves or no sleeves. I personally like no sleeves as I feel it makes the arms look constistent with how the legs have no sleeves either so I’m fine it. But while I can tolerate flat sleeves, segmented designs like the insomniac one where it just has little broken lines in the arms infuriate me to no end because it’s just small little details that only confuse the design further. (Kinda similar to how the belt on the iconic suit seems like it’s supposed to be there but isn’t.) So yeah, that and if the spider logo wasn’t so ugly I would like the back part more because I personally hate the tick that’s on his back in every iteration of the classic design but the logo is bad so i honestly just prefer the tick. So that’s all I like (and to an extent, kind of disagree with GM over). Everything else is just weird and convoluted.
@@slat1202 I just don't like the way the suit design is trying so hard to look like a futuristic tech suit while also trying to be an iteration of the classic suit. It makes it seem insecure. I had the same feeling with the first Andrew Garfield Amazing Spider-Man suit. I really liked the way that suit was colored and textured, but it was just trying too hard and it feels disingenuine. It didn't seem like something Peter would've designed as his first suit. Every good designer needs to know when to have restraint.
@@LochNessHamster To be honest I like the PS4 rendition of the classic suit the most just because it's clean and just like the comics while still seeming realistic due to Peter's experience. When the Advanced suit happens it feels like a step up but a logical one that breathes new life into the design. When I look at this version I suddenly feel very sad and angry because they could have just made a version of that rendition or pay Sony the extra Money for the Advanced Suit. He was already gonna be Playstation exclusive why they didn't go the extra mile is beyond me, but it shows that this game is beyond shadow of a doubt dead. This version just looks wrong anyone else think the Logo on the front is both too small and undetailed? The MCU ones show you don't have to make it super big to get the point across just make it a cool centerpiece. This is what identifies him as Spider-Man this version just doesn't look right. I would have rather them do a spin on the MCU Original suit then doing this to the classic Spidey.
I can’t tell if the frame rate going into Perfect Dark on N64 was symbolic or not, but it greatly enhanced my opinion to never touch this game ever again.

I liked it far more when Spider-man actually had a snappy sense of humor. He could be awkward in small doses which added to his relatability, but it was never a main characteristic of him.
Type of build if an Olympic gymnast never ever stopped exercising lol
And also yeah, video of this game really emphasizes how they've just badly copy and pasted animations from the insomniac game.
Spider-Man actually has decent muscles but not like the bodybuilder type. However, enough to be noticed and observed

So I guess SOMEONE over at Sony was like” Nope, no Yuri Lowethal for you. We wanna keep OUR Spidey”

I love the criticism but idk why yall had any hope or expectations in the first place about this game getting better. Unfinished games are unexcusable imo, there is no "making up for it" after launch...because they will exploit that mindset.
Yeah. At this point I don’t understand why people still care for this game
Honestly the whole games as a service Idea kind of ruined this game for me.

I love how the worst iteration of spider-man is also voiced by a confirmed child predator.
10:51 I busted out laughing 😂😂😂
Also congrats on the engagement!
this! it would be cool to compare subtle changes from spider-man costumes over the years even if just as a small segment
@@bhimaniamaan6924 Yeah, and Xavier is just the man to do it.

@@bluehero-96 i do not that shit is so much better than the boring red and blue overused suit

You mean his actual suit. THE Spider-man suit. The one that everyone knows, and doesn't make people say, "hey that *kinda looks like* Spider-man." Are you also upset about Captain America wears the same flag every day?
7:57 It was the way he said that and how true it is lol
Same with 11:39 13:10
As of September 2023, Crystal Dynamics have cut support and the game has been delisted from all digital storefronts. Rest in piss, Marvel's Avengers, 2020-2023.
"how easily were you showed by fortnite of all things" is now my favourite GM line
17:15 Congratulations, I hope you two are happy together for many years to come.
I thought Spiderman was supposed to be quippy, quick-witted and confident compared to the awkward Peter Parker? Isn't that the whole Spidey shtick? This Spidey sounds like he's afraid to raise his hand in class and his sighs sound like he would snap at any moment.
Thank the MCU for making people think that's how Spiderman is.
His rant about Spider-Mans sleeve reminds me of Chris Chans rant about sonics arms changing from tan to blue🤣🤣🤣
Congratulations on finally getting married! man i remember when I was watching that spider-man retrospective back in highschool crazy how much time has passed, Love the videos man keep it up and Congrats again
“Goofy asshole with an art degree.” That got me so good you hit it right on the head lol love the video 👍🕷
Did anybody else get chills when Spider-Man swings at the screen to it cutting out with you better come around what a fantastic edit.
Congratulations on getting married, I remember finding you as a kid talking about Spawn the animated series, how far we’ve come. We’ll have a long and happy marriage you two :)
8:06 That's not Spider-Man Noir, that's Spider-Man Blanc
Gotta say, the “twink-man” and “war on spidey’s sleeves” bits were hilarious
Really? The sleeves bit just felt like a whiney basement fanboi trying to gatekeep Spidey suits.
I mean, I was with him on the mustard suit and stuff like that, but he really just seemed to nitpick about sleeves for way too long imo.
@@sireisaacson3844 i saw that bit out of context and, even as a huge mcu shill, it’s great when you aren’t going in wanting just a game review lmao
9:29 😂😂 I died
Sort of the point. It looks homemade by a teenager with no money, which is how a Spider-Man suit should look.
same
@@HeyItsThatEl In comics is hard to see, but Alex Ross does a good job of it.
My problem is when some "visionary" designer starts ruining the costume design under that same argument. And it STILL doesn't look like homemade...
@@Zeromaru42 I hate the Advanced Suit. I think it's absolutely hideous.
Surprised the game lasted this long.
The part about the challenges compared to Fortnite made me remember how I never did find where the challenges were located
I can’t tell if the frame rate going into Perfect Dark on N64 was symbolic or not, but it greatly enhanced my opinion to never touch this game ever again.
At least perfect dark has an excuse for having a bad frame rate
I never noticed the sleeve cuts before but honestly, they're really nice, keep doing what you're doing comic artists!
7:25 - That was a neat little peace of trivia.
the funniest thing I found after watching this video is I scroll down and look at the place where youtube shows what game was in the video "Marvel's Avengers Hero's credit pack" XD
The whole motion comic thing would work pretty well if the actual game itself had a more cartoon style to it to begin with.
