@@wallacesousuke1433 Yep, Houdini needs a full UX overhaul if it wants grow like e.g. Blender does. There are so many solutions in Houdini that remind me of early 90s UX.
I've been working with Unreal for a little over a year and have decided I'm more interested in VFX and cinematics than game development. Looks like I'll be switching gears and learning Houdini!
@hardiksoni6546 I've actually been working with Blender and After Effects more than Houdini...the studio I'm looking to get on with rely primarily on those. I still really want to learn my way around Houdini, though. I know I'll need it soon enough.
@@bigsky7617 same. I am pretty good in blender and unreal engine, infact i used to make games in unreal engine with blueprinting. but i need to switch to houdini as many artists agree its the best for visual effects and simulations like for example rock breaking
Every year, I find myself wondering if the current year's reel will surpass the one from the previous year. I can modestly affirm that, indeed, it has! NOW, BRING ON H20! :D
At this point do they even need to make reels, they could just post a 3 second clip with one line "It's in everything great" 😅🔥🔥 Edit: Great music choice too
Press TAB while the mouse is hovering in the Network Editor (bottom right) and type "geo", and press enter twice. It will put down a Geometry node in the network editor. Now you have a container to make and put your stuff in. With the "Geo1" node selected, press enter again to get inside the node... this is where you build stuff. Probably the greatest computer graphics art software ever made by humanity

Man you did an awesome job
It's incredible how VFX/CGI can somehow manage to CONTINUE to get better and better!
It is not about just getting better it is about also decreasing the learning curve making it easier for new artist to be onboarded.
Which is the opposite of what Houdini does 😆 its interface and node system are seizure-inducing

I started learning houdini 3 months ago
Im still struggling with vex
3 months is just for navigation in houdini😂, i think you need 3 years😢, vex is easy but you need linear algebra interpolation etc.
