Giorgio Moroder is 84 years old, and still going strong. He wrote many of my favourite songs, especially Neverending Story, who'd have guessed?
His hit as a singer was the song Looky Looky
@resireg one of my favourite songs by him is "Why Me" by Irene Cara
Dork
@@Shellgrit I am going to listen it for the first time in my life.
I hope you like it @@thecrafthouse9106
I believe that Giorgio Moroder is a true innovator and genius. He literally changed music and revolutionized the electronic music industry. He wrote many great hits, like "Chase", "Reach Out" and "I Feel Love", and collaborated with singers such as Donna Summer and Irene Cara. And in fact, he is a pioneer of electronic music, Italo disco and one of the founders of disco of the 70s.
Even Daft Punk dedicated a song to Giorgio Moroder. 😊
He is such a highly talented songwriter. They are so many memorable hits.
I had no idea one single guy had written all of these!
He belongs to that German minority from Northern Italy. He blends the best of both cultures
Well, he had co-writers (mostly for lyrics... he doesn't like writing lyrics so he delegates that to his collaborators).

Oh what a legend ! Those 25 songs are legendary❤🎉
Thank you for sharing that he’s the man behind all those songs !
No, only a few of those songs are good. 60 percent of those songs I never heard of (being from Los Angeles, Ca)
You learn something new every day.
Thanks Maestro!
🙏🏻❤️
00:50 - Brian Eno played it to David Bowie and told him it was "the sound of the future". He was right.
Wow. The unsung heros in the shadows. Song writers. Meet me half way by Kenny Loggins is one of my all time favourites, since I was a child and heard it in the movie "Over The Top" by Sylvester Stallone where its a sound track.
Wow a big thnx man for this truly loved it here in the Philippines all big part of my childhood long live Sir Georgio Moroder..👍💪🤝🙏🏼💖😋💋💿🇵🇭
This guy also did the soundtrack for one of my all-time favorite remakes: "Cat People" (1982), starring Nastassja Kinski, Malcolm McDowell, & others. ^_^
Genio.
Lui era anni avanti e ancora oggi le sue canzoni sono capolavori.
Immenso Giorgio.
Wonderful songs! What a talent man! 😆👍
SPARKS. 😍 Such a brilliant record.
Great video. So many songs I know that I was unaware were written by him. Very talented guy.
I have his greatest hits CD. Never knew his work when I was a kid, I love it now though;) Thank you Random! "Son of my father" was what got me hooked on Giorgio.
I’ve always wanted to know about him since Random Access Memories. Thank you!
THAT'S where I had him from! Probably the only time I heard his name before this. Love RAM and Daft Punk's score to Tron Legacy
Dabeull is the new french disco-funk sensation
Truly a fascinating guy. My two favourite artists are Kenny Loggins and Stevie Wonder so it is really great to see that Kenny brought a couple of his songs to life. Giorgio has won 3 Oscars, 4 Grammy's, and 4 Golden Globes. While he is considered the ''father of disco'' he has accomplished so much more. How many artists and creators have worked with Donna Summer and Daft Punk? He is still alive at 84 living in California. I hope he gets to see this special tribute. Thank you sir for bringing to light an amazing piece of music royalty.
Great Hits!
Eine echte, wahre Legende. Viel zu oft noch verkannt.
Ti auguro una lunga vita, caro Giorgio
Some of my favorites, in no particular order: Winner Takes It All (written with Sammy Hagar in 1987), Call Me (written with Debbie Harry in 1980) Cat 🐈 People (written with late David Bowie in 1982), Flashdance ( written with Keith Forsey and the late Irene Cara 1983), Take My Breath Away (1986). All of these are in soundtracks to movies 🎥.
The only dispute is Danger Zone. Kenny Loggins is negotiating with Georgio Moroder on credits.
Muchas gracias Giorgio por tanta música.
I especially enjoyed this, thank you SRG, I did not know he was behind “Son of my Father” so I learned something. My favourite of the Maestro’s is “Take My Breath Away”.
You certainly educated us here SRG, some terrific songs 🎉
I love the topics you choose for your videos.
Gracias Genio!!!👏👏👏👍👍
And….. Suzy Lane - Harmony
Donna Summer & Barbara Streisand - No more tears
Sigue Sigue Sputnik - Love Missile
David bowie - Lets dance
The Three Degrees - The Runner

And… what don’t I have….
Ah, the memories ❤ I know all these songs, feels like they played on the radio just yesterday 🥰 how time flies ...
I never knew Giorgio wrote songs for Irene Cara and other artists as I know him more for his association with Donna Summer.
Man's a genius 💯👏
An artistic genius 💯👏
❤❤❤ now I know, very high respect for Giorgio... Godbless...
Giorgio Moroder is a disco legend
"Hand in Hand".....it was a number one or top ten hit in several European countries, and I never get tired of hearing it.
True Maestro ! Wonderful Masterpiece he gave!
Giorgio Moroder and the beginning of Modern Electronics (EDM)
Giorgio Moroder began experimenting with electronics since the early 70's, starting directly from the 4 classic lines of Electronic Music (E. Post Concreta, E. Moog, E. Experimental and E. Soundtrack / Ambient, Sci-Fi, Cósmic) in synthesis with Pop/Rock songs (under a preferential beginning along the lines of E. Moog and E. Soundtrack / Ambient, Sci-Fi, Cósmic) in songs like Stop, Song Of My Father, Tears (1970-1971) and production for European artists (like the singer Lulu, Sue Kramer, Chicory Tip, Mery Ross...) who were looking for this new synthesis of E. Moog with Pop/Rock songs of the decade, meanwhile Kraftwerk only made noise and sound distortion with their characteristic Krautrock Düsseldorf & German Progressive Rock (which were not classic, direct and main lines of electronic music) .
By 1975 Moroder released his first electronic album Einzelganger where he masterfully applied the 4 pillars of Classical Electronic Music (E. Moog, E. Experimental, E. Post Concreta and E. Soundtrack / Ambient, Sci-Fi), while Kraftwerk (1974 ) began to replicate and copy these classic lines of Electronic Music mixed with Krautrock Düsseldorf (Autobhan), Moroder far surpasses the productions of Kraftwerk (1974) with the direct use and management of the classic lines of Electronic Music (without Krautrock substance & German Progressive Rock in between), Einzelganger was released months before the album Radioactivity that same year, the Conny Plank boys (Kraftwerk) were beginning to pay attention to the productions (E. Munich/ Music L. Studio) of Giorgio Moroder.
The definitive fall of Kraftwerk came in 1977 with Moroder's new Electronica productions (continuing the evolution of the Einzelganger album) that finally evolved and revolutionized the 4 classic lines of Electronic Music with the Concrete EDM model that Moroder forged and initiated that same year (Working To The Midnight Shift, Queen For A Day, Now I Need You, I Feel Love and their second electronic album From Here To The Eternity), all under the solid and concrete beginning of this nascent electronic scene that in its first phase of development and evolution (1977-1980) the 3 main and primary electronic genres of EDM Concreto 70's were formed and consolidated: HI-NRG, Synthpop and Electro.
Kraftwerk and their stagnant, rustic and underdeveloped album T. Europa E. (1977) bow to Giorgio Moroder's Concrete EDM model, paying homage in 1978 with the album The Man Machine where Conny Plank's boys practically replicate and copy the specific electronic bases of EDM (HI-NRG and Synthpop) in songs like Spacelab, Metropolis, The Model...among others.
Kraftwerk, defeated by Moroder, began to put an end to its descendants and lineage Progressive German Rock & Krautrock Düsseldorf in future productions, even more so when in 1980 Ryuichi Sakamoto and his independent productions associated with YMO/Lógic System (E. Japan in synthesis with concrete EDM post 1977) began the primary electronic model and matrix of Electro / TR-808 Roland (third and last electronic genre of EDM in its first phase of evolution and development 1977-1980), it is from here that Kraftwerk again replicates and takes the productions of other developers for the formation of the album Computer Word (1981), this time it was Ryuichi Sakamoto's turn and his works from that year 1980 / Lexington Queen, Wareheat, B-2 Unit and the Grail of the Electro matrix sound and the pioneering use of the TR-808...the song Riot In Lagos, also added to this is the most minimalist of HI-NRG and Synthpop achieved until 1980 + the electronic lines of the group of the top producers and developers of the 70's: Moroder (E. Munich), Jarre (E. France), Lacksman (E. Belgium), YMO (E. Japan), Tangerine Dreams & Schulze (E. Berlin)...among others.
The matrices and primary bases of EDM Concreto + the electronic lines of the group of the top producers and developers of Electronics of the 70's (Third Wave): Moroder, Jarre, Lacksman, YMO, Tangerine Dreams, Schulze, Vangelis, Tonet, Gizzi, Pinhas , Martín W. & Ian C. + the synthesis of EDM with the Disco / Funk scene...are the roots and fundamental electronic lines for the beginning and branching of genres of the 80's EDM scene (Second phase of evolution and development / 1981 -1989): House, Techno, Synthpop, HI-NRG, Freestyle, Italo, Electro Funk, New Beat, Trance, Acid, Electro, Eurobeat...including the primary electronic base of "ebm", the most sophisticated of Electro Industrial , the primary electronic molds that the converted Punk / Rockers take for the development of their nascent New Wave scene (in terms of Electronic) and the primary electronic basis of the Hip Hop / Rap scene of the 80's (NY 82 Baker, Bambatta, Robie, Jellybean, Parrish detached from Classic Funk in synthesis with the EDM).
My name is Giovanni Giorgio, but everybody calls me...the father, founder and pioneer of EDM and the Modern Electrónic / The Sound Of The Future
And the song "Stop" (1966) by Giorgio.
Stop la volvió a relanzar en 1970 con el uso del Moog Modular IIIp y los primeros Minimoog 👍
So many wonderful songs! I love Giorgio Moroder's own version of "Son Of My Father" better than that of Chicory Tip.
La de Moroder es la original (1971) 😁
@j.maxell3030 I know, yeah! And it's fantastic 😁
I Feel Love remains thee number 1 disco track of all times,
decade after decade after decade after decade after decade... etc.
Only in the Disco-electro department ...in the same camp there are Now I need you.....queen for a day and working the midnight shift from the great once upon a time album from Donna summer...anyway Disco have so many sub-genres (the most important of all DISCO-FUNK)that makes it the one of the richest genre ever.
Thanks a lot for doing this great work what a songwriters and everyone makes fun of him in 1960's beginning 1970's!
I love all of these songs! ❤
名曲の数々♪👍
Great video
Great songwriter.
I Feel Love. One of the greatest tracks ever recorded. I can remember a scene form Synth Brittania (or perhaps another documentary) where some new wave artist said that they all pretended to be Kraftwerk but in reality they wanted to create songs like I Feel Love
Chase is my absolute favourite by Georgio and I’m glad he’s still making music.
🇧🇷Aumentei o volume pra curtir essas músicas maravilhosas
Várias pedradas!
@@hausofsteph Isso mesmo!
Después...cuando se haga el segundo video de las producciones de Giorgio⚡Moroder 😉
A genius.
Music Legend 💯
Hope you had a great Day. 💕
Love your Videos. ❣️
Greetings from Germany. 💞

WHAT A LEGEND
Whay a great collection of songs to have written, and not a bad résumé either!
Though he did lose his touch abit in the late 80's, as there a few really bland middle-of-the-road American rock songs here too, from that period.
My favorite Giorgio Moroder production is The Runner, which he did for The Three Degrees. Smoldering hot fusion of rock and disco with the signature Moroder synths and powerful, scintillating vocal performances by the lovely Degrees themselves.
Oh yes. Those Three Degrees albums are great.
С 70х и навсегда
👍🎹🎼🎶🎤🎷🎷🎷🎷🎷🎷
I know th guy from a supercar in the eighties. The cizeta moroder. V16 engine, engineerd bi claudio zampoli. Gandini designed bodywork. Beautiful in its uglyness imho.
As he said from here 2 eternity
I had NO idea these were all written by the same person
Giorgio Moroder certainly is considered one of greatest songwriters from the 80's. Which puts him on par with the likes of Burt Bacharach. Thank you SRG for giving this man the extra credit he deserves.
Giorgio Moroder 👍
Musicland Studios👍
A great, great, great idea. But I'm still waiting for Nile Rodgers 'one.
Я в дороге никогда не засыпаю. GIORGIO MORODER это мои ритмы. Эта музыка бодрит.
Some definitive '70s and '80s tunes here. ❤
Like other producers/directors with a distinctive style (e.g. SAW, Stanley Kubrick) you can tell it's a Giorgio Moroder song immediately.
Damn!
He also wrote the famous "Vater unser" melody!
I am Giovanni Giorgio, but everybody calls me ........
A remix of Chase
...the father, founder and pioneer of EDM and the Modern Electronic / The Sound Of The Future.
Giorgio
Giorgie
I had no idea Moroder composed so many songs. I always thought "Call Me" was entirely Blondie.
I knew he could make some good tunes but had no idea he was behind so many well known songs
He basically defined the 80s
Miss Love now Hurt later... Greath hit
Danger Zone and Meet me half way😊 😍
I would love to see a list of hit songs written by Carol King and Jerry Goffin. That would incredible.
This guy is a genius.
One ot the best is missing : the entire Once upon a time album from Donna summer is missing...and it's a shame since it is one of the best work Moroder created.
GENIO
Fun fact: Hand in hand is the official song for summer olympic 1988
Also Un’estate Italiana is the Italian version of to be number one(also the official song for World Cup 1990
I only recognized 4 - but they were good songs.
Giorgio Moroder propulsor da musica eletrônica .
In most of them he was co-writer. It doesn't diminish his talent.
Grande Giorgio!!!
Her wrote 'Goodbye bad times' by phil oakey too (great track)
I am missing "Fly too high" sung by Janis Ian. I remember that being a massive hit..
I think that it was number one in Australia, great track.
WRITTEN THE MUSIC lyrics was Pete Bellotte / Keith Forsey
Chickory Tip!
Seriously?
That's a guilty pleasure song.
Didn't realise he wrote Blondies 'Call Me'.
A talented dude.
Forza Italia 🇮🇹
Correction - he cowrote these songs with the artists.
❤👍
Great video shame the songs were not played longer ( probably because of copyright 😢 )
Where are "She's on fire" (Amy Holland) "Utopia" and "Night drive"?
The mind-blowing thing is to know that he comes from a background of folk and schager music.
I'd say "Written or Co-Written by" :)
My name is Giovanni Giorgio, but everybody calls me...the man, the pioneer, the myth, the legend.
Wow. Can't believe he wrote Son of My Father by Chicory Tip.
He also made his Italian version :) ua-cam.com/video/G8ToiQqwMOk/v-deo.html
His name is giovanni giorgio but everybody calls him the goat
The Dream by Irene Cara, from the movie D.C. Cab.
With Italian passport born in south Tyrol and entering the Anglo phone world, he combined the best of all these cultures.
Great! You could also include "Love's in you, love's in me" (Giorgio & Chris), "The seduction" (GM, beautiful piano ballad from the American Gigolo soundtrack), "Theme from Midnight Express" (GM with Chris Bennett), "Get on the funk train" (Munich Machine), "Lady lady lady" (Joe Esposito)
Also "Here she comes" (Bonnie Tyler)

There is not the best song of Giorgio Moroder : Shannon's eyes.
No way, man!
Theme From Midnight Express...
with kylie i like the most
So Irene Cara and Donna Summer owed their careers to him
