Proved to be a great memory of how much mother really did love us!
I still have the pic of the worst tight per😢m in history that my Mom performed on me the night BEFORE school picture day in 5th grade! So embarrassed! But forced to go to school. Have the pic hidden from everyone.

But again, in her always sweet way, mother thought it was a surprise bonding moment for us that most little girls didn't get to do. Whenever my husband wants a good chuckle, I show him the picture (and am reminded how much I do look like my mother).

My mother used to put my hair up in a huge bun, I mean, HUGE! With teasing, hairspray, hundreds of hair pins and two long ringlets either side. All I needed was a hoop skirt and someone to call me a horse drawn carriage to take me to the ball! 🤣🤣🤣

How that camera man kept it together, every year, is a testament to his professionalism. She also gave me home perms. I am naturally curly, some reason she thought I needed correction. She rolled the perm on rods just like old ladies did. Not a spiral, a CURL. ~ I DEMAND the right for a do over.
This reminds me of the time back in 1996 when my family and I were getting professional family photos done and I was having trouble taming my hair, so my nan styled it for me. It wasn’t till we later received the photos that we all realised my nan had styled my hair exactly the same as hers and that how bad it looked 😂🤦🏻♀️
