This video made me order the camera! Great video, quick question though, is the autofocus good during actual filming? It looks like it is, when you zoomed in it did a good job of adjusting. I'll primarily be filming on a tripod so not much movement.
These are only 150 bucks on Amazon now, since the new model is coming out April 20th. I'm planning on getting a vlog camera soon because I've started doing more regular vlogs, and I'll be attending VidCon in July and will need my phone for other things besides vlogging, so I'm wondering if you would recommend this camera, and also have you tested it out in a noisy environment like a convention or something of that nature? I know Roman Atwood uses (or used, not sure if he still does) the 330 model and it looks and sounds great every single day in his vlogs in all types of situations. You've got some good informational videos here, my friend. Keep up the good work. You earned yourself a subscriber.

That is what I was wondering .. I noticed the flash on the Sony was right by the shutter button which messes up on the picture .. That is y I chose this camera .. Flash is on the other side

I've been looking into getting this camera, and for my channel I need a camera that can focus in on tiny details, from about a foot away and stay sharp when the object is brought closer to the lens, about a few inches away, and keep the focus and clarity. I keep my camera mounted on a small tripod and work at my desk, can this camera keep it's focus at short distances? The zoom is really impressive, I hoping it can do the opposite, great review too :D
great vid! how does the canon video recording compare to the iphone 6 both mounted? deciding if its worth the purchase if i'm only doing simple indoor vlogging.
iPhone isn't quite wide angle enough for me for vlogging. Also the audio is not as good.

Hello, white recording on the camera were there two black thick lines? How do I get rid of them so they don't show up in my UA-cam videos? Also, how do you make sure your recording in HD?

Glitter & Black i think it all depends on the lighting his lighting was really good. Just an idea i could be wrong. When i vlog my camera does the same if its dark i have the elph 300
Glitter & Black I've had my viewers say the same thing about a Sony Handycam cx240, not sure why though.

do you notice a huge difference in video quality since the 340HS records in 30p vs the 330HS that records in 24p. I lost my 330HS this weekend and I can't find any on amazon and I'm hoping the video quality is just as good on the 340HS
I think the video on the 340hs is really very good so you don't have to work on that

How far were you holding up the camera? So is it a good wide angle camera so it isn't to close and not holding it too far?

Thank you for the review! I just got mine in the mail box and recorded a 13 mins video. Battery does suck! I have a question tho, when I transfer the video to my laptop for editing (first time doing this) the size of the video is huge like 3gb. Do you have to convert it in order to edit ? Many thanks !
Nicki Tran That's normal. After you do your editing, when you export it with the right resolution/settings for UA-cam, it will then likely be a smaller file.

The Best buy guy told me that USB cables will not work with this camera and that the wire plug things only are for putting your piucture on a TV. He said I can only view photos on the computer using the memory card.
Also can this work with windows XP? Do I have to buy the Canon software just to put photos and videos on a computer?
Easiest thing to do is get a USB SD card reader.

When you use WiFi do I need to download the canon software? In the future I plan to get a new laptop but for now no luck.

Guys a solution for no flip up screen is to use a small mirror, and attach it to reflect the screen, so then when you are vlogging, you can see if you are in the shot

I also forgot to ask about charging the battery, Is it possible to buy a cord to charge the camera in the car? or can it only be charged by taking the battery out and charging it in the wall?

+LifeProductionz Honestly the battery life is not the greatest.. if you're gonna be using it a lot I would highly recommend getting a back up battery or maybe even 2. That way you always have a fully charged battery on deck :)

+Zuo487 Nope. Maybe look around on some forums on Googme, that should give you a better idea. Personally, this is my very first camera that I will own. I purchased 2 replacement batteries, a guerilla tripod, and a 64 gb sd card for it. I will most likely just use a wrist strap being that it will be for vlogs most of the time. It is very small, so I would just stick it in my pocket or leave it in my car.

kat loves They're different files. You can bring them into a video editor like iMovie to edit them together.
Cut Coms require you to do that^ or take one big file and edit out the parts you want to keep then render that.

Make sure it is in the full HD resolution for videos.
I did and it was still grainey. I tried another model and it did it too
