CORRECTION: Sorry looks like the Tyranids can put the +1 to hit and healing on any unit within 9" of that synapse creature that triggered it. So I guess you could give it to Trygons / Mawlocs or Raveners if you'd like. That does make it a bit more flexible if one of those goes charging in after taking some fire? Thanks for the correction!
@@ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber Maybe, I think it was mainly my reading comprehension though I guess it's a bit different to some similar things out there :D
If you have a Flying Prime in a Warrior group its now a Vanguard unit since they have flying same goes for Tyrant Guards so the +1 to hit effects the Genestealers lead by a Broodlord Tyranid Warriors and Tyrant Guards
I'll be honest I thought this was exactly the kind of thing I felt was missing from genestealer cults and Tyranids. Regardless of tournament strength this is a really cool thematic army
I run Tyranids... this might just be the green light to begin a GSC and pull some of my existing collection into it. This looks like a fun and interesting detachment to give a lot of options and tools for different opponents.
Ah yes you're right, my misreading there. That does make it a fair bit more useful for Trygons / Mawlocs or Raveners maybe I guess? I'll post a pinned comment above!
Finally, those of us that collect both Tyranids and GSC and have dreamed of a way to combine the two in an “official” way can finally fulfill our destiny (at least with certain units)!
Never forget that you used to be able to freely in 8th edition and even early 9th. Don’t smile and thank them for giving you back something they took away.
This detach rule: Buy another army, but only 3 units, be in 6' Biosantic: Be aberrant Xenocreed: Take character Host: Be in DS It's dumb, but not as bad as brood brothers
@@EmperorFawfulI think a mawloc is more useful now due to the Nerf the trygon got. I think playing a 2v2 would be funny where you run this detachment and your partner runs the brood brother detachment can be silly. Tyranids, GSC, and guard 🤝

Glad that this one came out, given that I recently build 30 Malstrain Genestealers on 32mm bases for my regular Tyranids and already considered to maybe run them for GSC... to see now that I can just combine forces with my main army's Vanguard units (I have already 9 Van-Ryans for the Combat Patrol + a Winged Hive Tyrant) makes this even better.
We've had a few very interesting Detachments in the last few days, I'm genuinely intrigued to see if tomorrow can salvage some enthusiasm for Sisters. I'm not holding my breath, though.
I’ve been saying it for so long but they didn’t have to be good they just needed to be fun!! I’ve got a mate that loves the two armies and collects tyranids but doesn’t have all the money for a full gsc army and it’s dope he can play both now without having to get 2k points!!
Its so funny thst the main Tyranids subreddit love this because it's so fun and flavourful whilst the dedicated GSC sub is hardcore whining about it because it isnt as meta as possible and they can't bring every single Tyranid unit. Some GSC players really did just get the army because its been so strong in 10th and it shows.
So far this month pretty much every army-specific sub has been full of complainers with little actual info balancing it out The competitive Warhammer sub has been way better for analysis
I'm really dissatisfied with this detachment. I don't like that 1/3 of our detachments just tell you to play a different army. I will say I'm glad that all of this detachments stratagems work, unlike the codex detachments.
A lot of the downloadable bonus rules like Grotmas and the AOS Regiments of Renown seem to be about encouraging people to play about with other factions. Thus nudging us to buy more stuff. It works.
Idk it seems like this is gw's answer for not giving us new units. Why not just use this separate army that will not synergize as well as a dedicated GSC army. At least brood brothers gave us units that fulfilled a roll we didn't basically have already.
@@candrian7it’s good business. And if you don’t want to do it you have your other detachments. As long as demons don’t end up ONLY existing as allies….
its up to half your army and Grotmas was suppose to be fluffy unlike how 30% of the armys who got detatchments that dont actually do anything and are not even fluffy
This pisses me of so much since what did Tyranids get a bad version of the Knight detachment and Genestealers get super fluffy and fun detachment to play whit F me how about Tyranids get anything for once we get next to no weapon key words we get a detachment taken out behind the shed we get no friends for 3 editions and then we are given hey at least you can play warriors now. Really happy for Genestealer cultists thou glad something Tyranids are getting some love
Don't forget how we're locked out of basic strategems. No grenades and tank shock only in one detachment. Spore grenades should be a thing and monsters should always have access to tank shock.
Fluff wise its awesome, but its trash the same reason the broodbrothers with guard is. Taking allies should be the cherry on top, not the achillies heal (idk how to spell it)
It would be much better if you didn't have to buy two books costing over £30 each, only for them to become obsolete in 18 months, with no assurance that the blended army will even be supported in 11th Edition.

As a GSC player, I love this detachment because it has one thing - FLAVOR. Something sorely
missing from the brood brothers detachment.

Flavor is what 10th is missing. Sanitizing everything for the jersey esports crowd has been awful for my overall motivation.
I just wish every faction would have gotten cool fluff like this so happy for GSC thou
When I saw ‘final day’ I thought “wait… loads of factions haven’t had their detachment rules yet!”
I know a little Vampire who will love this.
maybe I will
@@ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuberand back to back with sisters, as a bonus

My understanding was that any Tyranid unit could be healed and gain the +1 to hit. They just need to be within 9 inches of the synapse unit as well.

Nom-nom-nom, time to use all those Tyranid models from Combat Patrol in my GSC army (well maybe just the Ryans and the Winged Prime)
The Hive Mind insists you buy a Mawlock!
I feel the detachment shoud also grant the Patriarch (maybe also the Purestrains) the Tyranid keyword, doesn't really make sense that they don't
Quick someone do the Creation of Adam but with a Patriarch and a Hive Ship

I don’t care if it’s good or not. It’s so fluffy. It’s such a perfect lore to gameplay.
I'm deeply displeased that it wasn't a Bladed Cog-themed detachment, which is bizarrely missing from the codex.

I mean I love the imperial knights one, but this one is still the best
Its very strong imo it will put up results.
Its also shoot and charge with Darting attacks not either, just a bit more of a useful stratagem.
