Bragg's excuse is that Trump was covering up other crimes (to boost this to felonies)....yet Bragg is unable to specify WHAT crime was covered up (required by the 6th Amendment). The Bragg "case" is disintegrating more and more. And just wait until he has to testify for Congress. It's very likely will be Bragg that goes to jail.

linking a misdemeanor whose statute of limitations has run out to a "crime" whose statute has run out does not mean you can get past the statute of limitations problem.
It seems they are using Cohen's 'crime' as the one that Trump was allegedly trying to cover up. Cohen already pleaded guilty, and so did AMI, so I assume that is the valid crime in question.
So, all those "extra charges" are just the individual checks Trump wrote out to the extortionist, who should actually be the one on trial 🙄! This is gonna give a whole new meaning to the expression "trumped up charges", lol

Actually it would seem that it's to allow more time to actually work out how they can formulate a charge that has a chance of sticking. Got til Dec 4th now. But I imagine DJT's team can basically cover all possible angles without hearing the specifics. There's several points about this case that are very unclear: my main point of confusion is whether they will attempt to create a new felony for Trump in regards to campaign finance violations, or whether the felony that Cohen and AMI pleaded guilty to is the crime that they alleging Trump then tried to cover up with false business records. I don't see how Bragg has the jurisdiction for the former (and that case was already dropped at federal level) so I assume the latter. But it's all very opaque at this point.

I don't see how Bragg can bring federal charges when those same charges we already passed up at federal level.
