Resting on their laurels with few competitors, just like Apple
Nope
Have they with with what?
No
Not interested.
I'll hold out another year for another millimeter 😂
Amazing comment. 😂
Price will also be increased by $100
😂😂😂😂 facts
Hahahah love it
@@cooliipie im keeping my fold 5 for 1mm difference and box type. Not worth the change id rathar get other gadget haha
As a fold 5 user I honestly quite like the narrow display but completely understand why most people dont.
I have the s23 ultra and my wee thumb does struggle when using one handed. I think I could benefit from the narrow screen 😅.
Doesn't it cut off your content on the sides?
@@chevaughnhunter6991 no actually just makes stuff narrow sometimes
No@@chevaughnhunter6991
Am I the only one that likes the narrow front screen for one handed use...i just wanted bigger camera upgrades this year. I guess I'll wait another year
Agreed. One handed use on fold 4 much easier than my previous S21 Ultra
Thats the point of a foldable phone. I can't comprehend WHY people think the front screen is too small. That's literally the point. The narrow front screen is perfect. People are literally just idiots.
exactly upgrade the damn camera already!
@@0thers1d3 WRONG! The point of a foldable is to have both a common phone and a mini tablet in my pocket at the same time, the front screen is too narrow indeed. People are not idiots, you just happen to have women's hands.
That was the whole purpose to get a fold phone... I didn't want it wide... zf5 is perfect and I love the mor wound edges. Fits in my pocket perfectly.
I will, to the end of Time disagree with the fact that people think that phones too narrow. That's the one main reason I love it! Having the front screen be a little narrower is nicer in the hand
Exactly! Especially when you need to take a quick picture of something, you can hold it firmly with one hand and double press the power button to open the camera. Also, if it were wider, then there'd be less reason to even use the inner display.
An extra mm will not make it less handy lol this is cope.
true
The front screen being narrow is my favorite feature. Makes using it 1 handed so much better. Im sure a lot of fold daily users agree
It just looks like they took the fold 5, gave it a new name, put some marketing speak, and let the tech reviewers go gaga over it, trying to highlight "improvements".
You can say the same thing from the S22 Ultra to S23 Ultra to S24 Ultra and a bunch of recent iPhones.
It looks like it should have 4 screens, spherical design and 20 inches, so people like you would say: oH LoOk, iT iS sOo DiFfErEnT.
If you actually held it, you would know is much better than the 5. Went to my local Best buy and checked it out. Much sturdier, much sleeker, etc.
No reviewer mentioned the screen tends to break after 1 year
Literally almost every phone if you view them series by series. Similar to games where minimal changes are made on each release. How about comparing the first Z Fold versus Z Fold 6.
Honestly i dont see the problem with the narrow front screen. It really helps me reach across the screen more easily when using with one hand
@@Rika-sensei Fold 6 done it the best imo. It looks how the outer screen should've been. More like a phone on the outer part, enough good to do regular jobs, wide enough to use.
I think they managed the overall dimensions and screens. What’s missing?
- Pen included in the price AND inside the case
- newer cameras
- bigger battery with faster speeds
I sold my fold 4 to my s24 ultra.. I thought big changes were coming and boy I'm glad I didn't wait for this
Doing same as we speak
I was waiting to see another review but I'm going from the z fold 5 to the 24 ultra. Not enough upgrade for me and the battery like in ultra is so much better so I'm out ..
I'm going from z fold 5 to 24 ultra 😩😩 not enough upgrades
People continuously say "they didn't change much". So can you guys please tell me what you guys even expect from them?
@@kfx3907 better battery life , better camera
The frame is 10% more scratch resistant, nice. Instead of being insanely easy to scratch its only kinda insanely easy to scratch.
I’ve had iPhone for a good 10 plus years man I can’t wait to get this phone they just shipped it
This is ridiculous upgrade. No major changes since fold 3. Samsung needs to have some serious deals if they are going to sell these. Starting price is also absolutely too much. You can get fold 5 used with warranty about 800€ and that is a much better deal.
With trade in fold 6 is 750, good enough deal for me IMO
That's what I'm going to do is go for the zf5. The prices are crazy for the 6.
Clown 🤡
I think that upgrading from a fold 3 or 4 this makes a lot of sense, it's faster and a lot more refined, the screens are better, it's more durable, it does feel like an upgrade. I have the fold 5, I'm not going to switch this year, but deffinitely will do that next year with the fold 7
Imagine how Apple users feel every year.
It feels like all of these big tech companies (not just Samsung) think that shoving AI into a product is sufficient to make everyone want to buy it, and like... maybe if the AI were good but the Samsung AI stuff is mediocre at best (Circle to Search is the only one I actually kind of use). Not to mention AI has existed long before this, it's generative AI that's the real hype right now and that's IMO the least impressive kind of AI out there!
I think just Samsung, which other company you can think of right now that is offering only AI upgrades? Z-fold 6 is that shove.
Which is funny because most of us could care less about the AI BS
You're not really considering that it's the beginning of the AI stuff. They will be more and more useful with time.
This model is the best looking so far, and the most durable. This will be my first foldable. Already pre-ordered.
Mi mix fold looks miles better
I just bought one (Patterned, Crafted Black 1TB) for 968.99 with my discounts. Can't wait!
Awesome review...You are probably the only guy having the balls to talk about Samsung not giving a charger with this damn expensive phone. Massive respect for you.
Flossy Carter also talks about this.
After four years, I am still holding onto my Fold 2 because the changes each year have been so pathetically minute. Only TWO things I want in a Fold: a normal-sized exterior screen so I don't have to unfold it for almost everything, and a built-in S-pen slot. How the hell have they not been able to do even one of those yet???
I'm in the exact same situation. I have a fold 2 and I still feel this isn't that much of an upgrade from the 2. Waiting on the same improvements. Screen size bigger and spen in the phone.
I'm also eyeing up the vivo pro and waiting to see what the mix fold 4 is saying
Well they have. Your Fold 2 outer screen is narrower than an iPhone mini. Since the Fold 4 it was about the mini size in width and now Fold 6 is quite a bit wider than the mini and not that far off a regular S24.
From Fold 2 to Fold 6 there are important improvements to say that the change is not justified. It's best to see and test the device in person and not cloud your judgment by what mostly tech UA-camrs say who aren't happy with anything.
I'm finally upgrading my Fold 2 for 2 reason of my own, one is similar to yours. The increase screen width while small, it's a welcome one.
And with a $1,100 trade in value in any condition for my cracked Fold 2 being worth $12, this is the time for me to pull the trigger and upgrade.
This should hold me over for another 4 generations.
@@demeick17 I've seen the phones in person and I'm not impressed. Due to the cost and the fact my fold 2 works fine I don't wish to spend all that money for another phone that still doesn't tick all the boxes.
Might as well stick with the fold 2 until one comes along that does
Brilliant review! Watching on my Fold 5 now haha the front screen is a bit of a learning curve but I'm pretty good with it by now, and I really value one hand typing on it too.
I don't think there's enough new here yet for me to upgrade, but when I do it'll definitely be another foldable, I'm a complete convert
We should start getting more comparisons to 2-3 year old models of tech products, because its when the majority of customers are going to upgrade anyways. When you have the resources to upgrade every year, more than likely, you will do it as soon as the simplest spec or hardware improvement gets your attention. Good on you for mentioning that people on a Fold 4 or older should definitely consider upgrading it they find the right deal.
And no, this is not an excuse for Samsung. It's a truth that any smartphone user must accept. Manufacturers will make money anyway they can, but as simple as this upgrade is compared to the Fold 5, someone who's never owned a foldable is still getting an incredible top quality device with the Fold 6.
Great video as always
I already did my pre-order
Looks like I'll have my Fold 5 for another year!!
I'm keeping my 4 and only getting the buds and upgrading my watch to the ultra. Ya no sense in upgrading the phone itself.
Same. Better camera and they would have had my 2 grand
Me too!
Mine (fold 2,3,4) never lasted more than a year, always the film started peeling g from the screen and when replaced lasted a day... does your still work?
@otakarlibal yah mine works. I had it replaces once. But use the inner screen much less for this reason.
Is there AOD with lock screen background on like on the S24 and iPhone 15 Pro and is it on bith screens or just the main screen?
Yep getting my Fold 6 tomorrow, Got the Navy blue and upgrading from the fold 4. Worth the upgrade cause of the processor and the changes to the form factor
Hi mate great videos...what selfy stick do you use..cheers
Does breaking the back glass considered cracked phone when trading? Or it's only considered when the screen itself is cracked? Thanks!
4:07 is what I would like to know more .. could you explore the multi-task option? Or do you have another video talking about it?
This sounds a ton like an advertisement rather than a genuine overview of the phone
I wish more "reviewers" were like Josh from Just Josh. Brutal honesty and no bias
that looks gorgeous 🤩
What a disappointment. Let’s hope for some proper improvements with the pixel fold 2
very excited for that one!
Pixel fold 2 battery might last 6 hours!!!!
Super excited for fold 2
Fold 2 improvement! Is real? Where to get more info?
@@prasadpatil734 we just have the design leaks as far as I know, but I would expect / hope that the rest is also getting an upgrade.
I've still got another year on my Fold 4. Not 100% sure if I will stick with the Fold. Finding a rugged case and a decent wireless car charger is so frustrating
Fold 6 = Gimmick
Is there a mode where you can open it part way and use half the screen as a keyboard and half as the display in "netbook" mode?
Do i get the s24 ultra or go to this fold 6
Currently have a fold 4
Love my z fold 5 defo sticking with it
Not enough changes to upgrade
is the slightly wider screen as good as one plus open?
11:11 Please consider that fast charging wears out the battery faster. Most people charge over night anyway.
I have a Z fold 3
I want to upgrade because of the weight and battery. But is it really a big difference ?
Considering swapping my flip 5 for this to try out this form factor. Wish more upgrades were packed in. Gonna be between this and the pixel fold 2 perhaps. Hard choice though.
I have finally switched and bought the Fold6, i am currently using the original fold. Ive been waiting ever since for one worth upgrading to, and to be honest it still hasn't happened, but I am tired of waiting for the right fold to come.
The Chinese folds all tempt me but I really want some of their innovations in the Samsing Fold.
Im coming from a fold 3, so this is a massive improvement!
They did a great job on promoting the fold 5 😂
If you are coming from a fold 3, recommend it?
Geez that navy color looks so bloody good
With it looking like a TV remote, if they brought back IR blasting capabilities and remote control apps would it be more forgivable?
When is this update going to s24 ultra?
my fold 5 battery life has been great, my fold 4 wasnt the best. i also love how one handed the narrow cover screen is
I have a fold 3. Will upgrade to the 6. Love the boxy design, wish they had a laptop with this design, would throw my money at that. So yeah, for me, Samsung has done enough.
Does the spen case aaaaactually come with the spen.
Glad I bought the OnePlus Open few months back 😊
Same. I hoped Samsung would continue to push foldables. Alas, they are still lagging. Disappointed.
The only thing exciting to me is the dust resistance bit that too not like that of ip68.
My fold 4 screen got cracked which happened due to hinge malfunctioned and later came to know the main culprit was dust
Why no one talks about the 7 year update introduced for the 6? This to me quite a deciding factor between the full price 6 and the discounted 5
Android doesn't change, so it makes no difference.
@@swaran88 security updates are also important
Is that case on properly? It looks like there is a gap by the camera lens on the side profile at 2:58.
Probably not to be honest, I was in a bit of a rush!
Can you make a video about the gallery and camera settings?
At this point the ULTRA if does exist... will cost about $5000. 😂 😂
So basically the same as a high-end iPhone with some accessories. Lol
@@YakAttack915and Samsung loves em for some reason it’s crazy they’ll pay like 800 for it
@@YakAttack915 iphone 15 pro max with 1TB storage is $1599. More value at a cheaper price than any foldable
How do the biometrics work like with Samsung pass? I have the s23 ultra and have finger print on screen. Does this phone offer that or do you have to do fingerprints on the side?
There's a side fingerprint in the power button
@@Thetechchap ty so much!! I appreciate the response. I am scared to switch since I am so used to the onscreen one and never had good luck with the side button one... I can't remember though if it was a note or LG that I used that had the side button fingerprint sensor that was terrible!!
iPhone 12 Pro Max user here. A few questions. I’m very very intrigued by this phone because it feels like better/advanced technology than the first models. Also for people that have this type of phone does it it get tiring to have a fold phone. Like it must exciting at first but does it get boring after a while? Looking for answers
I'd recommend the One Plus Open personally. Its outside screen is basically the size of a regular iPhone 14.
Does it get old? No. 95% of the time I use the outside screen. But that 5% of open use is so good for my work and showing photos to groups of people is a game changer at get togethers.
I'm just worried about the crease. Is the crease really really noticeable, or will you just forget about it?
Been looking for a reason to upgrade my Fold 4 and I'm just not seeing it. Even the software items will likely trickle down in a few months.
Thats it. Vivo X Fold 3 and 3 Pro for the win.
No dex mode. So still waiting but vivo does look more promising.
@@GenkiMadGaming Promising isnt the word brother.
Its literaly better in EVERY point for the pro model.
There's a world between it and the Fold 6. Even if they would release an ULTRA fold 6 it would still bring nothing better than the Vivo.
@@Joaaaaaaaaaaa true that. But does it have desktop mode on TV's?
@@GenkiMadGaming I dont know. I have had dex mode since my last two phones and havent used a single time on a big screen.
+ Fold phones are already small tablets so i wont use it more than i already dont on my "normal" phone 🥲
their software sucks though
I love my fold 3 cant wait to upgrade to fold 10 😊
Love this guy 🎉
Do you want to marry him?
My problem with Samsung's Fold smartphones is that the aspect ratio of the display is simply not ergonomic. I had a Z Fold 4 on loan, but I couldn't get used to the handling. Maybe because I could only use it for a week. I would really like to test it for a longer period of time, but the price is just too high for just one test.
I used to have z fold for 3 years far so good... but had a bit of an issue with the inner screen on my last fold 5... a few pixels were showing on the screen and I thought it was due to game raging so I thought: "I need a regular phone" changed the screen which was covered but the next time was meant to cost 500$ for the inner screen.
Swapped it just roughly a month ago for the samsung s24 ultra. The camera specs are amazing and yet on night I gotta say samsung has a lot to improve for night view as well as other phones it would be great to fix the pixeled backgrounds on night mode/ night photos. Another issue was when you trying to go 50MP or 200MP by times for aome reason it is hard to take a photo without maintaining a perfect still position without distorting the image which should also be fixed. For gaming the s24 ultra now is harder to use for me since it has been 3 years with folding.... the grap is totally 😢
I will give it half a year and see how it goes if still struggling with ganing I might change back to z fold 6 but not due to the upgrades but the grab. For people who likes gaming a fold phone would say its perfect it also gives you more vision of the map when you play 5vs5 games like LOL or Mobile Legends for example... so ifbyou into gaming and anime the z fold 5 is your cup of tea (or else a tablet which is much better honestly).
If had to compare z fold 5 and s24 ultra... would say s24 ultra beats on performance durability while z fold 5 gives you snoother gaming and video experience ovbiously on a bigger screen. So its not about a winner is about what your preferences are when you using a mobile.
Make the screen as wide as s22 ultra which i have and add space for the S pen and i would be buying this!
My biggest gripe with my Fold 4, and the reason I switched to the S23 Ultra, is that the internal screen protector lifts. Also my internal screen randomly exploded one day when I opened it!
Holding out for Fold 8. Hopefully foldable screen tech is more durable and battery life will be loads better
Will also be 3500
Is it really worth going from the 3 to the 6. Been hanging onto my 3 so far. Any thoughts.
Yes absolutely!
Same
Question. Is snap cam optmized? Is there still a night mode in snapchat? How bout the daul camera thats on snap for S24?
They only mentioned Instagram to me, i'll have to test it
@@Thetechchap is the instagram also optmized for z fold 6? Or just flip?
@@Thetechchap I just wanna know if snapchat still has night mode? And doul camera mode like on S24
should i upgrade from s23 ultra to this fold? i never try fold before.
I'm asking the same question
so beautiful
My daughter had the fold 4 and within a year the inside screen had an issue where due to it being folded and unfolded half the screen had gone black like ink had leaked rendering it useless, I just don't think folding phones are robust enough yet to warrant buying one especially at the price they want.
Can you please do a foldable phone comparison video? This category is really hotting up!!
Played with yesterday at BEST BUY in Dallas excellent grip and it's so compact wish I could afford one lol
Nice video
Would you trade up your s24 ultra for the zfold 6. Even though
1. No place for stylist
2. Not as good camera as s24
3. Still slight crease
All for the larger screen functionality. Sometimes i get frustrated with the trying to do split screen on s24 Ultra. It is a tank too. (Love my Note10, in terms of weight, hand holding, stylist inside, already has 12GB Ram). Just want the larger screen for multi tasking.😮
The s24 Ultra camera is crazy. Was videoing a graduation. Was half a football field away. Could see my nephew's acne in his face. Flying over a university football field not quiet 10k feet. But I got the school sign on the grass.
Do i need that crazy of camera vs that flat screen to multi task?
1 mil wider, I would have considered switching from own 5 to 6 if at least 2_3 mil wider, so ill wait for the next fold, I dont mind bigger phone, thanks
Went with the One Plus Open. Very pleased after 6 or 7 months of using it -- especially for work.
For now, I'm good with my Fold 5. I hope that whenever the Fold 7 makes its debut they improve the cameras. Especially the camera when the phone is open or unfolded or whatever. I don't use it.
I bought one to upgrade from a S21 Ultra, looking forward to folding my screen
Would love to get one, the AI drawing feature looks really good
Just subscribed
I believe they only making a slight change on the outer screen because if they make the outer screen too big, it will affect the inner screen aspect ratio. While still keeping it small and compact. 😅
Great review of Z FOLD 6 as always. I think it's worth buying for FIRST TIME BUYER. Considering the cool AI capabilities, ruggedness, looks and feels better in hand than Fold 5. It's a GREAT Gadget... 😁👍
where can I get that beach wallpaper? 😍
Is the worth the change from an iPhone 14 pro?
I was seriously thinking about it but given this review I'll stick to my 23 ultra for another year
Good idea IMO. I have the S23U and the One Plus Open. Both great phones. I'll SIM-swap on occasion, but for work, the One Plus Open is useful for my work.
I'm sold once it's as thin as a Galaxy Ultra. Has the same front screen size as a 24 Ultra, cameras that are equivalent etc. I want no compromises. The Ultra line always sets the standard.
You should compare it to Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, they recently released the global version, it comes with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
I'll check that out. I have the One Plus Open. Love it. But I'll check the Vivo.
Can you use the pen to take pictures like on the note?
Yes
I've been debating this phone for the past few weeks since the leaks and finally got to check it out in a local T Mobile. It's not worth it. Every reviewer is saying that the screen is noticeably bigger in person, it's really not. Like there's a difference but I think it's placebo due to the square corners. Check it out in person and decide for yourself.
It's getting tougher and tougher to wanna upgrade each year last year. I did upgrade from the Z-fold for to the Z fold five but I got a really good deal and was able to upgrade to a one terabyte storage option this year. It's tough because no front screen stylus, I know I'm weird more screen real estate inside the phone to take notes. I think that would be one reason I would jump the gun and upgrade from the Z-fold five on a + note I did buy the galaxy buds pro 3 .... Yeah this year I will not upgrade my Z-fold five.. New cameras would've also made me want to upgrade... Looks like a really beautiful device, but I like last year's new "shiny" too much..... There's always next year.!
Also, thank you for the video :)
My fold 4 has just stopped working when i fold it open. Such a shame got 6 months on contract using the small screen 😂😅
Why in back do not have logo Samsung?
Im sold!😊
I just wish that they would make it wider . I would like to use it sometimes without opening it . The keyboard is still to small
I have the Fold 4, and it's in great shape! Im waiting until the Fold 10 😂😂😂😂
the fold 5 is my first fold. love it. was not going to trade. but have a decent deal in Australia sort of. the phone is aout $150 or $200, more than last year. but getting $200. off. free Samsung care+ for a year. anf a decent trade in. so ordered it online 30 minutes ago. before looking in person. and watching any videos. slightly wider screen sold. as i have no issues with the fold 5. but a slightly wider cover scren is enough.
As for the pricing, it's worth remembering that Samsung plays funny buggers with pre-release specials and coupons and things. By way of example, I just ordered a Z Fold 6 + Galaxy Buds Pro3 here in Australia via the Samsung Education Store for ~$1700AUD after using a litany of coupons and trade in benefits that they're offering (which equates to only 900ish GBP). That's ~$300 less than I paid for a Z Fold 3 + Galaxy Buds Pro back in 2021.
Anyone paying 1800 GBP (or the ~$2700AUD full price here) is a mug.
What benefit did buying from the education store give?
@@Will-gr8jl 20% off retail price. I actually got my sums wrong before - it ended up being ~$1400AUD from the education store with the regular buds2 included for an extra $9 (my original order was actually on the retail store, so I cancelled it).
Still rocking the fold 3, I think its time to upgrade
Ip48? It might finally keep on unfolding compleetly flat after the 5 first months!
FTG?? The inner screen might finally not crack after the first 5 months!!
