Finally, someone pointing out that this is basically a complete re-design! It looks and feels nothing like the 5! I don't understand why everyone says it's the same!
A) they have not held a single fold phone ever b) can't afford the upgrade. So basically all the reasons they come and give here is actually to convince themselves to resist the urge to upgrade. Most will Fold eventually, pun intended, once they see it in person, and once they buy it will come and tell you how good the fold 6 is. Most of phone buying on internet is all about defending the personal decision choice rather than the device itself.
Once i tried this in Best Buy, i went out in the parking lot and preordered my first fold. The phone felt great. It was refreshing for my thumb to reach the other side of the narrow screen, perfect for swype typing. The matte black square bezel makes the fold look less cheap on the inside. Overall, the phone just looks and feels more professional and less toy-like with rounded shiny corners.

trading my S24Ultra for the Fold 6. pre-ordered and received the Fold 6 07/19/2024 and I already love it. I never really "took to" the S24Ultra as I really loved my Note20Ultra -- so much so that I tried but returned both the Fold 4 and Fold 5. Neither of those Fold versions worked and something just felt off. This time is different. I have already boxed up my S24Ultra for the trade-in program and it would already be on its way to Samsung but FedEx is closed until tomorrow :) ............. I have the Fold 6 and the Samsung Fold 6 S-pen case. So far I am happy with this new device.

For me this has been the best data transfer experience so far with even all settings correctly transferred :):)
Samsung is supposed to come out with a Z Fold 6 ULTRA version between October & January. Thinner, bigger, & a better camera. But it might or might not support the S-Pen.
I went from the S22 ultra to the Fold6. Very happy with it + all the goodies as a Samsung member. The only thing I would like to have is a bigger battery capacity.

A series is nice, but it’s not the fold. Fold users want that large screen and the S series doesn’t come close. S24 Ultra also feels terrible in the hand.

Not understanding all the hate on these comments. But finally upgrading from my ZFold 2 I got at launch to the Fold 6 and I'm pretty excited. The upgrade for me will be quite substantial.

One thing to mention - the vapor chamber keeping the phone cooler means that throttling is applied => less power => less battery drain. Not the other way around. That's also a huge discrepancy for the channels doing battery drain test, but start demanding games or benchmarks with the phones already hot...
It depends... Fold6 is amazing but so is s24 ultra. But s24 ultra has a better camera system and it has the in built s pen. But fold has the bigger screen and, fact is, it looks really cool. So ultimately, what do you value more?

Agreed the changes add up to a better experience except the crease improvement. The Fold 5 crease was noticeably better than the 4 out of the box however after a few weeks the difference was pretty negligible. That said the crease does not bother me at all really. I will take a slight improvement over the 5. Happiest about the wider cover display, the weight and the brightness as it was hard to see in direct sunlight
Very good video! No one realises that it is a full redesign! Foldable technology is still new, and people aren't recognizing how hard this is. What I don't understand is why they're holding back the camera with such an expensive device.
It's all incremental at the moment. A bigger camera setup with telephoto/periscope mechanism requires space. Which again puts the pressure on the compactness of the phone which they've been trying hard to reduce. Besides, honestly, it's not like the cameras are bad. Most people, using the S24 ultra, I don't feel use the camera capabilities to it's full potential. So even if samsung gave it in the fold, I really doubt it's going to change the way people use cameras.

If you're an iPhone user, from a software experience, it will be a bit of a learning curve for you. But I assure you, once you move to an Android flagship, you'll realize what you've been missing.

I think no, this is not the s-pen which we get in ultra models This cannot be charged and doesn't support low latency Bluetooth, so it might not support

I tried a few more things but unless it was a simple hat or something, I got an error about the location of my drawing not working. It may of just been the way the demo was set up, but I could not figure it out. Love the phone otherwise!
Am I the only one who'd want a folio case for these folded phones? I mean, when you put it down on a table, the external screen is going to touch the surface, so a folio case would protect it. Sure the whole thing would become even more massive, but these are ohones that you're going to put in a sling/purse, not in your pocket, so it's a fair price
The fold 6 needed a bigger front screen, bigger battery , the dark corning non reflective glass, s pen outer screen, it was alright but incremental and I might wait until fold 7 or fold 6 slim. The software is excellent but the hardware needs work . I might get the book 4 pro 360 laptop or tab s10 instead. Its true Honor is winning w Huawei, Xiaomi , One Plus and Vivo in hardware. Its strange because the s24 ultra has good hardware. For me I'd rather buy the pro 360 4 laptop since I need a new laptop after my surface book 2 died and even despite wanting a foldable I will wait for fold 6 slim or fold 7 ultra until I get sufficient hardware simultaneously
Props on keeping enough accent but learning the English speaking cadence to be easy to understand for a native English speaker. I know it's hard to turn off and on your native speaking rhythm.
sorry but the fold 5 was my first folding phone. and i upgrased to the 6 and it is a lot better. i was happy wit the fold 5 cover display. but the is better to text and eother things. and the thinner and brightness make it feel like a normal phone. i am not even a power user. the only reason i got it was i watch a lot of youtube. web browsing doing a couple of things online and it's great.
As I loved the fold 4, falling from 1.5m, was really not good. Too delicate for a human like me, so I moved to s24 ultra. I wish for a stronger fold one day.
Great video! I'm moving from the fold five to the fold six. I'm having one issue related to the s pen. I have gotten used to using the larger fold edition s pen. I had a case that held the pen near the hinge. I'm having trouble finding a case that will hold that pen. It looks like I may have to use the smaller s pen which I can make work but I really like the larger one. If anyone knows of a case that will hold the larger fold addition s pen, maybe someone can post a link if there is one out there. Thanks

@@Andrew-dw6ee I've used that with the fold 5. It's much easier to use when you have bigger hands than the little pen. iblason is the case I used with the fold 5 and it held that pen. But I've ordered the same case for the fold6 and also a sup case for the fold6 . I believe what they're trying to accomplish is because the form factor of fold6 is smaller and lighter, the area that holds the pen is smaller than it was for the fold5, so I think I'll be using the small pen with my fold 6lol
I'm wondering if samsung eventually fixed the poor design of the foldable mechanism. I own a z fold 3 and after 1 year and half the main display got the infamous black line in the middle. Samsung repaired it in warranty but after 10 months the display was broken again. This time no repair under warranty. I met a z 4 and a z 5 owners and experienced the same problem, widely documented online. I spoke with a bunch of technicians in 3 different repair centers and told me that problem is so common to consider a foldable device as an ongoing experiment. This 6 looks good but I lost the trust in the brand and definitely I wouldn't want to be forced to buy a new device every year
Compared to the fold 3 the fold 6 is amazingly lighter. Writing with the Spen across the crease is no issue. It feels like a good phone. Dissapointed that there is no Spen built in. Cmon Samsung, this phone needs it.
Although many of the elements of the fold 6 have been improved, these improvements are granual in scale and cumulatively, do not amass to any significant changes from previous models - and they certainly don't support all the claims leading up to the release that this was going to be a "complete redesign". Very anticlimactic
The Fold 6 is IP48 - the 4 is just for things that are larger than 1mm. That's practically no better than the 5, they just got the certification this time around. The 5 had matte versions, too. My Fold 5 is matte backed and has a matte grey chassis and hinge. The vapour chamber qnd 8 Gen 3 are basically pointless given nothing aside from a couple of games comes close to pushing the 8 Gen 2 to that extent. There's no additional RAM, either. All of the software will be coming to the Fold 5 (much of it is already available on the 5). They would have been better keeping the Fold 5 chassis and putting in a larger battery and the vapour chamber rather than re-engineering the chassis to reduce the thickness by a couple of mm. They could have put an S Pen compatible cover display, too. Samsung doesn't deserve to make any money from the Fold 6. Just buy a discounted Fold 5.
I wish content creators would stop talking about Galaxy Ai as a feature for this phone. It’s not…. I don’t care that the camera’s aren’t as powerful as the S24, but the lack of premium materials (no amour glass or titanium) makes the price point unjustified.
I think there's a difference between cameras not being as powerful as another phone and cameras being bad. It may not have the same camera system, but majority people who even own the S24 ultra, just take out their phone and shoot in the standard 12 MP default mode without ever moving to 50MP or 200 MP more or using the 5X as much. If someone is really looking for a camera centric phone, then S24 ultra or vivo x100 series is the way to go. Fold isnt camera centric. It's productivity centric.

You know what all the corrupt reviewers like this one don't talk about? The fact is that the fold 6 strangles the graphics cores compared to the 24 ultra by as much as 40 percent. The camera modules have been the same for the third year, as is the 4400 battery. That in the bright sun, Fold 6, on a large screen, greatly reduces the brightness after 30 seconds of operation...

I personally am glad theres no S pen. The fold 6 already feels like an upgrade, so it makes sense to save the S Pen for the fold 7+

@@mobiscrub I was trying to add wings to a friend I snapped a picture of. I tried a few more things but unless it was a simple hat or something, I got an error about the location of my drawing not working. It may of just been the way the demo was set up, but I could not figure it out. Love the phone otherwise!
Am I the only one who'd want a folio case for these folded phones? I mean, when you put it down on a table, the external screen is going to touch the surface, so a folio case would protect it. Sure the whole thing would become even more massive, but these are ohones that you're going to put in a sling/purse, not in your pocket, so it's a fair price
The fold 6 needed a bigger front screen, bigger battery , the dark corning non reflective glass, s pen outer screen, it was alright but incremental and I might wait until fold 7 or fold 6 slim. The software is excellent but the hardware needs work . I might get the book 4 pro 360 laptop or tab s10 instead. Its true Honor is winning w Huawei, Xiaomi , One Plus and Vivo in hardware. Its strange because the s24 ultra has good hardware. For me I'd rather buy the pro 360 4 laptop since I need a new laptop after my surface book 2 died and even despite wanting a foldable I will wait for fold 6 slim or fold 7 ultra until I get sufficient hardware simultaneously

Props on keeping enough accent but learning the English speaking cadence to be easy to understand for a native English speaker. I know it's hard to turn off and on your native speaking rhythm.

sorry but the fold 5 was my first folding phone. and i upgrased to the 6 and it is a lot better. i was happy wit the fold 5 cover display. but the is better to text and eother things. and the thinner and brightness make it feel like a normal phone. i am not even a power user. the only reason i got it was i watch a lot of youtube. web browsing doing a couple of things online and it's great.

As I loved the fold 4, falling from 1.5m, was really not good. Too delicate for a human like me, so I moved to s24 ultra. I wish for a stronger fold one day.

Great video! I'm moving from the fold five to the fold six. I'm having one issue related to the s pen. I have gotten used to using the larger fold edition s pen. I had a case that held the pen near the hinge. I'm having trouble finding a case that will hold that pen. It looks like I may have to use the smaller s pen which I can make work but I really like the larger one. If anyone knows of a case that will hold the larger fold addition s pen, maybe someone can post a link if there is one out there. Thanks
Do you mean the s pen pro? ..because that's a large pen.
@@Andrew-dw6ee I don't think it's the pro. It does not have Bluetooth capabilities. It is just a larger s pen. It says fold edition on it and it's about the size of a pencil

@@Andrew-dw6ee I've used that with the fold 5. It's much easier to use when you have bigger hands than the little pen. iblason is the case I used with the fold 5 and it held that pen. But I've ordered the same case for the fold6 and also a sup case for the fold6 . I believe what they're trying to accomplish is because the form factor of fold6 is smaller and lighter, the area that holds the pen is smaller than it was for the fold5, so I think I'll be using the small pen with my fold 6lol

Over the fold 3? Its a massive improvement. I would highly suggest you try just holding the fold 6 and opening the display.

I'm wondering if samsung eventually fixed the poor design of the foldable mechanism. I own a z fold 3 and after 1 year and half the main display got the infamous black line in the middle. Samsung repaired it in warranty but after 10 months the display was broken again. This time no repair under warranty. I met a z 4 and a z 5 owners and experienced the same problem, widely documented online. I spoke with a bunch of technicians in 3 different repair centers and told me that problem is so common to consider a foldable device as an ongoing experiment. This 6 looks good but I lost the trust in the brand and definitely I wouldn't want to be forced to buy a new device every year

Compared to the fold 3 the fold 6 is amazingly lighter. Writing with the Spen across the crease is no issue. It feels like a good phone. Dissapointed that there is no Spen built in. Cmon Samsung, this phone needs it.

Although many of the elements of the fold 6 have been improved, these improvements are granual in scale and cumulatively, do not amass to any significant changes from previous models - and they certainly don't support all the claims leading up to the release that this was going to be a "complete redesign". The Fold 6 is IP48 - the 4 is just for things that are larger than 1mm. That's practically no better than the 5, they just got the certification this time around.
The 5 had matte versions, too. My Fold 5 is matte backed and has a matte grey chassis and hinge.
The vapour chamber qnd 8 Gen 3 are basically pointless given nothing aside from a couple of games comes close to pushing the 8 Gen 2 to that extent. There's no additional RAM, either.
All of the software will be coming to the Fold 5 (much of it is already available on the 5).
They would have been better keeping the Fold 5 chassis and putting in a larger battery and the vapour chamber rather than re-engineering the chassis to reduce the thickness by a couple of mm. They could have put an S Pen compatible cover display, too.
Samsung doesn't deserve to make any money from the Fold 6. Just buy a discounted Fold 5.

I don’t care that the camera’s aren’t as powerful as the S24, but the lack of premium materials (no amour glass or titanium) makes the price point unjustified.
I think there's a difference between cameras not being as powerful as another phone and cameras being bad. It may not have the same camera system, but majority people who even own the S24 ultra, just take out their phone and shoot in the standard 12 MP default mode without ever moving to 50MP or 200 MP more or using the 5X as much. If someone is really looking for a camera centric phone, then S24 ultra or vivo x100 series is the way to go. Fold isnt camera centric. It's productivity centric.

You know what all the corrupt reviewers like this one don't talk about? The fact is that the fold 6 strangles the graphics cores compared to the 24 ultra by as much as 40 percent. The camera modules have been the same for the third year, as is the 4400 battery. That in the bright sun, Fold 6, on a large screen, greatly reduces the brightness after 30 seconds of operation...
