I went from the Note 20 Ultra to the Z Fold 5 exclusive gray color on Black Friday. I must say that out of all the phones I had owned, this is no other phone I had ever experienced as a daily driver in the past 11 years. I remember seeing a Samsung concept teaser of foldable phones back in CES 2013 which I would wish to be a real device. Now, it's on my hands 10 years later, and I must say this is the game changer just how optimized this device is!
How is the fold 5 holding up? Still have my note 20 ultra and thinking of making the jump to the fold 6. Is it worth it in your opinion? I really do still love my note 20 ultra and I don't like giving up my microsd. 🤣🤣😡 I'm willing to part with it of the fold is that good.

@2Nelly4 Sorry for the late reply! But from a durability perspective, the Z Fold 3 held up nicely! In fact we had countless times recording our videos where the basketball came crashing towards the tri pod and it took a couple of spills on concrete from 5 feet off the ground! It absolutely worked fine for me after those falls. Also, I always 'washed' my z fold 3 with water just to keep it free from oil cause I always loved admiring that big ol' tablet screen but would hate it when it had smudges. Never had any water damage or anything (and I would wash it like twice a week with just water). Now moving on to the Z Fold 5.... this thing is a beast. IT has handled a couple of falls from the tripod like a champ (just like the Z Fold 3 did) and from a gaming perspective, this thing runs emulators so much better than the Z Fold 3 ever did. A real world test that I always use to gauge how well a phone can handle emulators is by running Virtua Fighter 4 and NFL 2k5 on a PS2 emulator (AetherSX2 is the best PS2 emulator on android). Reason being, I have some gaming laptops that actually had problems running both of those games. Long story short.... the Z Fold 5 runs both Virtua Fighter 4 and NFL 2K5 as smoothly as some of my gaming laptops!!! One game that I was suprised it could run is the original Ratchet and Clank which was IMPOSSIBLE for every device I've ever attempted it on. But honestly... the Z Fold 5 is a gamers dream come true. I connect a PS5 controller to it and it's a dream come true on travel (I get stares all the time) where I play countless emulators and when on WiFi, I remote play my PS5 and the games look ABSOLUTELY AMAZING on it. As far as productivity... I do quite a bit on this phone other than create content for me and my son's channel as a hobby. I work from home for the Dr. Lisa Company and pretty much do everything on it lol. Excel spread sheets, word documents, pdf editing, even some photoshop-esque things. Using the Fold 5 for a month now, and I must say wow this phone is awesome from all aspects. First time fold User and I can tell you I am never going back to normal phones. Samsung did a great job with this phone. Even the outer display is great.

Absolutely agree!! Will never go back to regular phone. The form factor is great!! One handed operation I really like. Side finger print scanner... awesome, much better then finger print on my ultra 23
@youngdizzp I have dropped mine several times and on different surfaces, and each time I thought that was the end of my fold5, I pick bit up surprised that there wasn't even a scratch on it. Of course I have a case on it, the one from Samsung and I must say that case is quite underrated.
I see people complaining about the narrow front screen. This size is perfect for those of us with small hands. I couldn't wait to get my 1st z fold 3yrs ago. My disappointment is in the back camera quality.
I upgraded to the fold 5 from the S21 Ultra about 2 weeks ago now, and honestly, I love it. I've not gotten used to the two different screens yet, still opening the phone, even for tasks which don't necessarily need the larger inner display, but I'm gradually teaching myself to use the outer display for things like calls, texts, and just checking the notifications. Overall, so far, it has been a very good user experience, and I don't regret my choice to upgrade at all.
Great video. I had iphones for over 10 years and was fed up with Apple bringing out new devices with minimal upgrades every year. I decided to pre order the Z Fold 5 last year back in August 23 and was the best decision I've ever made. Having a device that has replaced my laptop and tablet and being able to fit this in my pocket is an absolute game changer. The narrow front screen took a bit of getting used to but it does the job. I love the fact that I can be out at a pub and pull the device out of my pocket and it still freaks people out when they see me unfolding the phone right in front of their eyes. The Z Fold 5 is my first ever fold device and could not imagine ever switching back to a candy bar style device.
Definitely a big improvement over the fold 4. I'd recommend this phone to anyone wanting to get into the foldable market. It's the best complete package option currently.
Yeah I'd say that's the first time if you had the fold 4 absolutely don't upgrade .same camera hardware.. same design , slightly lighter and flatter hinge design isn't a big improvement fold 5 is good but big improvement is a stretch

I’ve my Fold5 since September of last year and i have been very satisfied with it! The ability to have everything I need in one device means I don’t have to pack my iPad when on longer trips. I went on a cruise over Christmas and only needed my Fold5 to stay in touch and take photos. Very glad I went for the Fold5!
The crease is the first thing everyone asks me about owning this phone for the last few months and is the first thing most people will say is why they won't buy one. If you're gaming or reading, scrolling and you're really immersed, you won't notice the crease. I love this phone, it's my first foldable and it's so useful. The battery is amazing. I really like the slim front screen when folded which i use while out and about,. Then when I get home, I unfold it for gaming, reading or even just watching videos. I use this phone so much more than any other phone I've ever owned. RuneScape 3 runs like arse on it though, but it has improved a lot since the phone was released. Old School runs perfectly. My one and biggest issue is this is the heaviest phone I've ever owned and I've dropped it so many more times than any other phone. Official slim cases which I use don't cover the hinge and of course it's the first thing that hits the ground and scratches -.- Another big plus is the side finger print reader. I work in a trade where I use my hands a lot and my thumb print is almost none existent, but the placement of this reader makes it so comfortable to use your index finger instead. I definitely plan on sticking with foldables for as long as they're supported.

Got mine 4 days ago im from iphone 14 pro max. And i ca. Say that its an awesome device! I did not regret changing ios to android! User experience is excellent.
9 year apple user and I switched to the Zfold5.. switching from apple to Android was a struggle at first but now i absolutely love it and will never switch back to a non fold phone 😅

I totally agree. the fold 5 has been a great phone for me. The multi-tasking is great. While driving to NC 8 hours away I have a phone holder/charger and I have waze, phone and music apps up at the same time. No problem with durability but you need a case. I can't see this expensive phone without a case. Very happy with it.
I returned the OnePlus open and went back to the z-fold 5. Only because the front screen is way more manageable being thinner. Also, software on the OnePlus was a complete total mess. Samsung just does a better job with hardware and software. I'm probably going to keep my z45 for about 2 years
Waiting for the Fold 6. Had the Fold 2 and currently the Fold 4. The only thing I miss since I switched from the Note series to the Fold is the INTEGRATED S-pen. I hate that it is separated and also hate that it's not working with the outer display.
Definitely one of the best foldable phones in the market the software the camera the performance of this phone is absolutely amazing cant wait for the fold 6 as leaks are showing that samsung is redesigning the galaxy z fold 6 and other extra features coming in love this video
9months with mine now and im still loving it 🥰🥰🥰 I have smaller chunky hands so its nice to have a flagship i can use 1handed with ease again while also having a massive display.
For those worried about the crease, I have a Z Flip 4 and the crease is noticeable at first, but once you've had it for a while you don't even notice it's there anymore and it's not that bad after a few weeks :)
I just got it last week & I'm a little overwhelmed to learn everything; I thoroughly enjoy it & pleased with my purchase. I know enough to know that I don't know enough about it yet!
I'm enjoying it. Got it as my first foldable. Thought getting a 5th gen device was a good starting point. Got 1000 off when I traded my S22 Ultra. I've it so far and will be daily driving for as long as possible. All the gripes are just nit-picky to me and I have had no problems! 👍
@shriharit6357 Cameras are just fine for me. It's mainly ly the chip that does the processing I stead of hardware. I don't get the zoom of the S22 but I dont mind. I'm not a hard-core photographer 😅

Enjoying the folds since the 3. Once you get one you never go back. I also agree that the 5 is a huge step forward in quality compared to the 4. Very happy with mine. Im considering the 6 just for the brighter display tho.
I was excited about using this phone and I like some features including the on the go tablet and side fingerprint sensor, but coming from the S22 Ultra I miss the camera capability, especially when zooming in. Also, the overall weight when walking along with phone in hand is noticeable. So good, but 8/10 overall and still needs improvement
This is my 5th Samsung phone, but it's my first foldable. I only use the outer screen to check my notifications and calls, The main screen is great for multiple apps, social media and WhatsApp. It is a great addition to my Samsung tab s8 ultra, when I'm working on my laptop I can have 6 apps displayed on my fold 5 and s8. This increases my productivity. I don't care if another foldable has a bigger screen, a better camera or a better test score. For me, Samsung has got the software integration spot on, if I install an app on my tablet I can install it on my phone at the same time. With DeX they become extensions of my laptop or desktop. I own 3 Nikon Pro DSLR's, and I can download and view at full resolution my photographs from my cloud storage. I don't use the cameras very much, mostly pictures of my dog. I am always impressed by the quality. With smartphones it is not just the hardware performance. You have to look at them as a complete package and for me Samsung has nailed it. Edit. I don't play games on my phone, I am happy with the battery life.
Interesting you say that because the Tab S9 Ultra and Fold 5 have been a killer combo for me as well as far as productivity and getting things done quicker
I like that it has the same width folded as the iPhone 13 mini which is my favorite iPhone ever. Samsung has an amazing deal going on today for over $1k off and seems almost a no-brainer.
I turned in my Fold 4 for the 5. The 4 had a broken inner screen and I still got the full 1000 discount. I might be keeping this one till a real change is made to the Fold series.
I understand why people want a larger outer screen but I think Samsung wants to encourage you to use the inner screen that's why they make the outer screen small
Samsung is just amazing I have problems leaving that software system.. my fold 5 I am falling in love with after months of not taking advantage of the features.. just me thanks for your time

Hello Shane, I owned the Fold 3, The screen protector started bubbling up, but was able to be repaired by Samsung warranty. I traded that in for the Fold 4 and six months later the outer screen display did not work. The local approved Samsung shop said they had to order a part which took over a month and it turned out to be a software issues. This resulted in the phone having to be shipped to Samsung. Samsung fixed the phone replacing the screen and software. However, I was not happy that I had to get a loaner phone and ship my phone off to Texas for about a week. Even though the fold has some great features compared to the iPhone, I do question its durability to last without being in the shop. I did ask how much the repair would have cost if it wasn't under warranty and Samsung told me about $388. Just some thoughts to see if you have experienced the same with your Fold or anyone else who is reading this could also comment on their experiences of owning the phone long term. Thank you! 14 months of using my fold 4 and my outer and inner display crashed on me..4 times already..the folding feature of the phone Is still far from perfect and unreliable...its so sad that i have to let go and move on from it already.😡😔
I've had no problems with my fold 3 which I'm still using to this date only needed a new screen protector for the big screen I out on a white stone screen protector had no other problems
@S5King7 which screen did you use that matters I used a Whitestone if all I got to complain about is a screen protector not mad at all about the fold even with the problems others have with it it's still going be real hard learning the fold
@cellaa70 I also had a Whitestone, no problems with that. My issue was with the plastic protector that came with the phone on the inside screen. Lasted 1 year, then had several bubbles that eventually cracked. Replaced once for free. Replacement one cracked after 9 months and the Samsung warranty wouldn't replace it again.
I’m sold on just how “responsive” it is with your texting being so fast. My iPhone 14max is absolute sh!t with that one major thing I do the most. Drives me crazy.
Not going to consider buying until they put the S Pen inside, get rid of that awful crease, and get the same components as the Ultra series. If this is a flagship put flagship parts in it.
Long story but I upgraded from the Fold 4 to the Fold 5 reluctantly. I did not think the Fold 5 had many improvements and I really did not have many issues with the Fold 4. In actual use though, the refinements on it really do make a difference over the Fold 4. The Fold 4 was a big step forward, but the Fold 5 is almost the phone I thought the Fold 4 would be if that makes sense. Being able to fold flat sounds like a small change, but it makes a world of difference and the folding is definitely more solid than on the Fold 4. There still is lots of room for improvement though and it is nice to see more competition in the foldable market! Great video too!!!
Im on still on the fold 3. I lost my $50 s pen and refuse to upgrade until it breaks or they make a damn slot for the pen. Looks like the fold 6 still wont have a built in slot. But we all know whats going on. They will make the outer display bigger this time and wait until 2028 to add the slot. Gotta give us slow upgrades to keep us hooked.
I have owned both. Fold 3 and Flip 5 (currently) while I loved the Fold, i had very little use for it other then a conversation starter. It was a very nice phone! I did love having a tablet on standby but i honestly only used it like 15 times for an actual purpose and most of those times were for content watching with someone else. I switched to a regular phone after 8 months, passed over the 4 series and after a year I switched over to my Z Flip 5 and my Z Flip has ironically been more useful then my Z Fold ever was. And with the smaller but useful outer screen it makes it so much better. Standing in line at the DMV i was able to text my friends and watch content and scroll through social media while not holding a humongous phone.
Good Job, I want to mention about the smoothness of the Fold and Flip phones. They fall off your hand everyday,. They are breaking everywhere. The older Samsung phones were purposely designed with firm grip, and rubber grooves to protect from falling. Now we have FLIP and FOLD phones the opposite very smooth, easy slip off your hand. Some may think that It is done on purpose to make them fall and break or to make us buy expensive cover.
Loved my Fold 4 so much i upgraded to the 5. Ive had mine for about 4 months and the inner screen developed a line of pixels that run top to bottom on the left hand side that are off color from the rest of the screen. Just dropped it off for warranty repairs, so fingers crossed. Another issue i would like to state is that Samsung removed the finger print sensor on the 4 inlou of their new tech they installed on the 5. It was nice being able to use the finger print sensor as an additional input, but now its reduced to its basic functions, which was a bit disappointing. It is beginning to feel like Samsung is dropping the ball in favor of more expensive phones that, albeit, have a unique functionality, don't stand well against the previous titans that would have lasted 10+ years and stay relevant to updates and newer programs. I would like to mention my Galaxy Note 3 which lasted over 8 years with only one repair needed (digitizer failed) and continued to work great with newer applications and other web based requirements. Fingers crossed repairs work out and this phone lasts atleast the 5 years we were promised, but being real about the situation on newer smart phones, i will likely trade this in once they develop a Fold with an integrated S-pen that works on all screens. (one can dream, right?) Update: phone was returned to me same day with the outer screen no longer operational and was informed me the motherboard is damaged, warranting out the whole phone. Shame.
Note user who owned Fold 3,4,& now 5 absolutely worth it can't see myself going back to regular S series candy bar style. If i have the money on deck make it a Fold. Only complaint is i would like the S Pen in the device they have to do that
I'm still put off from the slimmer, narrower outside display. Got a Flip 5 as my first foldable to dip my toes into the format, and it's one of my biggest gripes. Using the phone one handed, having to shimmy my hand up to the top of the screen to pull down my notifications or to change the volume is super uncomfortable. But maybe the even narrower display of the Fold would make it easier to grip? Also the insane glossiness of the inner display kinda forces me to hold it at awkward angles when I'm using it in a room with a bunch of lights overhead. But even with all these gripes I'm still tempted by the Fold haha
I was torn between getting this phone or iPhone 15 Pro; then I chose iPhone 15 though now I want this fold 5 as I often need to read notes and bible verses when preaching
My boyfriend has Z Fold 3 and it is still working smoothly.Perfect condition and the inner screen protector peels up but we go to the Samsung experience by the house and they replace for us. Very convenient if you live by the samsung store but if you don't then it is a hassle
This phone has been my favorite phone ive ever had. One thing this phone does like no other is privacy screen protectors. I play Nikke: Goddess of Victory daily; and the combination of a small screen, privacy blind, and slight raised edge of my case, makes it to where literally no one except me can see the degeneracy on my phone. And i have the larger screen and s pen for accuracy and visability when i have time to take on a serious boss fight at home. This phone is seriously the goat.
@@nathansstuff1547 it works flawlessly. Portrait mode has always been preffered way to play any mobile games. But being able to open my phone up in Nikke, and run landscape seamlessly is so nice. I will say most games dont do that seamlessly, but for nikke specifically, this phone is just that much better
You don't use it very often. If you did, the screen would have randomly snapped in half. I'm on my third phone in 6 months due to the inside lcd screen cracking in the middle under the protective layer.
I've been using a Fold 4 since day one it was released without a case and its holding up great. I feel very confident that these foldables are just as durable as a normal phone
I am still so on the fence about getting that phone. I really want it. I like the folding aspect of it all, but the price point seems too high for something that the folding screen may only last a few years.
Coming from the Note family over the years, this phone is amazing and does the Note proud. I can't wait to see what the Galaxy Fold 6 has to offer. Once you get a fold, there is no going back to a slab phone.
After 3 months with this phone, my outer display stopped working!!! The front screen just turned green, and I claim a warranty with verizon. Verizon connected to my phone though a telephone call and diagnosed a motherboard failure, the next day I recived a new phone and sent back my old one. Very easy
I have been using my z fold 4 for about 1 month now and I love it I can not go back to a "normal" phone I am apple but dang this fold is good! Once apple does a foldable i might change but so far so good

Yeah I'd say that's the first time if you had the fold 4 absolutely don't upgrade .same camera hardware.. same design , slightly lighter and flatter hinge design isn't a big improvement fold 5 is good but big improvement is a stretch

I’ve my Fold5 since September of last year and i have been very satisfied with it! The ability to have everything I need in one device means I don’t have to pack my iPad when on longer trips. I went on a cruise over Christmas and only needed my Fold5 to stay in touch and take photos. Very glad I went for the Fold5!
The crease is the first thing everyone asks me about owning this phone for the last few months and is the first thing most people will say is why they won't buy one. If you're gaming or reading, scrolling and you're really immersed, you won't notice the crease. I love this phone, it's my first foldable and it's so useful. The battery is amazing. I really like the slim front screen when folded which i use while out and about,. Then when I get home, I unfold it for gaming, reading or even just watching videos. I use this phone so much more than any other phone I've ever owned. RuneScape 3 runs like arse on it though, but it has improved a lot since the phone was released. Old School runs perfectly. My one and biggest issue is this is the heaviest phone I've ever owned and I've dropped it so many more times than any other phone. Official slim cases which I use don't cover the hinge and of course it's the first thing that hits the ground and scratches -.- Another big plus is the side finger print reader. I work in a trade where I use my hands a lot and my thumb print is almost none existent, but the placement of this reader makes it so comfortable to use your index finger instead. I definitely plan on sticking with foldables for as long as they're supported.
Make sure you have Samsung care+ or extra warranty my z fold 4 inner screen bleed in the middle now it's unresponsive except the outer display
I left Apple and will likely, probably, never go back. The Z-Fold 5 has been the most fun phone experience I've had in 15 years.

I own a Fold 5 and my biggest use is reading books. I like the smaller size when closed as it is much better as a phone in your hand. Love it.
Got mine 4 days ago im from iphone 14 pro max. And i ca. Say that its an awesome device! I did not regret changing ios to android! User experience is excellent.
9 year apple user and I switched to the Zfold5.. switching from apple to Android was a struggle at first but now i absolutely love it and will never switch back to a non fold phone 😅

I totally agree. the fold 5 has been a great phone for me. The multi-tasking is great. While driving to NC 8 hours away I have a phone holder/charger and I have waze, phone and music apps up at the same time. No problem with durability but you need a case. I can't see this expensive phone without a case. Very happy with it.
I returned the OnePlus open and went back to the z-fold 5. Only because the front screen is way more manageable being thinner. Also, software on the OnePlus was a complete total mess. Samsung just does a better job with hardware and software. I'm probably going to keep my z45 for about 2 years
I always thought I wished the fold 5 was wider like the oneplus open but after using I now understand why Samsung has chosen to go for a slimmer phone

Waiting for the Fold 6. Had the Fold 2 and currently the Fold 4. The only thing I miss since I switched from the Note series to the Fold is the INTEGRATED S-pen. I hate that it is separated and also hate that it's not working with the outer display.
Definitely one of the best foldable phones in the market the software the camera the performance of this phone is absolutely amazing cant wait for the fold 6 as leaks are showing that samsung is redesigning the galaxy z fold 6 and other extra features coming in love this video
i noticedd that the thinner display on the front is nice for me. I use swipe to text 99% of the time, it makes texting easier.

I have smaller chunky hands so its nice to have a flagship i can use 1handed with ease again while also having a massive display.
For those worried about the crease, I have a Z Flip 4 and the crease is noticeable at first, but once you've had it for a while you don't even notice it's there anymore and it's not that bad after a few weeks :)

I'm enjoying it. Got it as my first foldable. Thought getting a 5th gen device was a good starting point. Got 1000 off when I traded my S22 Ultra. I've it so far and will be daily driving for as long as possible. All the gripes are just nit-picky to me and I have had no problems! 👍

@shriharit6357 Cameras are just fine for me. It's mainly ly the chip that does the processing I stead of hardware. I don't get the zoom of the S22 but I dont mind. I'm not a hard-core photographer 😅

Enjoying the folds since the 3. Once you get one you never go back. I also agree that the 5 is a huge step forward in quality compared to the 4. Very happy with mine. Im considering the 6 just for the brighter display tho.
I was excited about using this phone and I like some features including the on the go tablet and side fingerprint sensor, but coming from the S22 Ultra I miss the camera capability, especially when zooming in. Also, the overall weight when walking along with phone in hand is noticeable. So good, but 8/10 overall and still needs improvement
This is my 5th Samsung phone, but it's my first foldable. I only use the outer screen to check my notifications and calls, The main screen is great for multiple apps, social media and WhatsApp. It is a great addition to my Samsung tab s8 ultra, when I'm working on my laptop I can have 6 apps displayed on my fold 5 and s8. This increases my productivity. I don't care if another foldable has a bigger screen, a better camera or a better test score. For me, Samsung has got the software integration spot on, if I install an app on my tablet I can install it on my phone at the same time. With DeX they become extensions of my laptop or desktop. I own 3 Nikon Pro DSLR's, and I can download and view at full resolution my photographs from my cloud storage. I don't use the cameras very much, mostly pictures of my dog. I am always impressed by the quality. With smartphones it is not just the hardware performance. You have to look at them as a complete package and for me Samsung has nailed it. Edit. I don't play games on my phone, I am happy with the battery life.
Interesting you say that because the Tab S9 Ultra and Fold 5 have been a killer combo for me as well as far as productivity and getting things done quicker

Om switching over to the fold 5 tomorrow, I've been using the flip 5 since release and I love it. Fingers crossed I love the fold as well.
That git postponed by the fold 6 is coming out on the 10th of July, so I pre-ordered.
I turned in my Fold 4 for the 5. The 4 had a broken inner screen and I still got the full 1000 discount. I might be keeping this one till a real change is made to the Fold series.
I understand why people want a larger outer screen but I think Samsung wants to encourage you to use the inner screen that's why they make the outer screen small

Hello Shane, I owned the Fold 3, The screen protector started bubbling up, but was able to be repaired by Samsung warranty. I traded that in for the Fold 4 and six months later the outer screen display did not work. The local approved Samsung shop said they had to order a part which took over a month and it turned out to be a software issues. This resulted in the phone having to be shipped to Samsung. Samsung fixed the phone replacing the screen and software. However, I was not happy that I had to get a loaner phone and ship my phone off to Texas for about a week. Even though the fold has some great features compared to the iPhone, I do question its durability to last without being in the shop. I did ask how much the repair would have cost if it wasn't under warranty and Samsung told me about $388. Just some thoughts to see if you have experienced the same with your Fold or anyone else who is reading this could also comment on their experiences of owning the phone long term. Thank you! 14 months of using my fold 4 and my outer and inner display crashed on me..4 times already..the folding feature of the phone Is still far from perfect and unreliable...its so sad that i have to let go and move on from it already.😡😔
I've had no problems with my fold 3 which I'm still using to this date only needed a new screen protector for the big screen I out on a white stone screen protector had no other problems
I had screen protector issues on the Fold 3. In 2 years I went through 2 Protectors. Keep in mind I didn't open it that often.
@S5King7 which screen did you use that matters I used a Whitestone if all I got to complain about is a screen protector not mad at all about the fold even with the problems others have with it it's still going be real hard learning the fold
@cellaa70 I also had a Whitestone, no problems with that. My issue was with the plastic protector that came with the phone on the inside screen. Lasted 1 year, then had several bubbles that eventually cracked. Replaced once for free. Replacement one cracked after 9 months and the Samsung warranty wouldn't replace it again.
Regarding the narrower outer screen, the Fold 5 is awesome for people who dont have huge hands

I’m sold on just how “responsive” it is with your texting being so fast. My iPhone 14max is absolute sh!t with that one major thing I do the most. Drives me crazy.
Good and fair review. Ive also seen many OnePlus Open/Oppo Find N3 review samples that shows jittery/shaky videos.
Not going to consider buying until they put the S Pen inside, get rid of that awful crease, and get the same components as the Ultra series. If this is a flagship put flagship parts in it.
Long story but I upgraded from the Fold 4 to the Fold 5 reluctantly. I did not think the Fold 5 had many improvements and I really did not have many issues with the Fold 4. In actual use though, the refinements on it really do make a difference over the Fold 4. The Fold 4 was a big step forward, but the Fold 5 is almost the phone I thought the Fold 4 would be if that makes sense. Being able to fold flat sounds like a small change, but it makes a world of difference and the folding is definitely more solid than on the Fold 4. There still is lots of room for improvement though and it is nice to see more competition in the foldable market!

The only problem is the outer display keyboard. Really hard to punch those keys. They're so small.

Im on still on the fold 3. I lost my $50 s pen and refuse to upgrade until it breaks or they make a damn slot for the pen. Looks like the fold 6 still wont have a built in slot. But we all know whats going on. They will make the outer display bigger this time and wait until 2028 to add the slot. Gotta give us slow upgrades to keep us hooked.

Picked up a Fold5 and a Watch4 Classic for 1100 USD, upgrading from a note20U it's definitely a worthwhile upgrade.
I've used the Fold3 & Fold4, Flip4 & Flip5. I can say confidently I will always own a foldable device.

I have owned both. Fold 3 and Flip 5 (currently) while I loved the Fold, i had very little use for it other then a conversation starter.
It was a very nice phone! I did love having a tablet on standby but i honestly only used it like 15 times for an actual purpose and most of those times were for content watching with someone else.
I switched to a regular phone after 8 months, passed over the 4 series and after a year I switched over to my Z Flip 5 and my Z Flip has ironically been more useful then my Z Fold ever was. And with the smaller but useful outer screen it makes it so much better.
Standing in line at the DMV i was able to text my friends and watch content and scroll through social media while not holding a humongous phone.
Good Job, I want to mention about the smoothness of the Fold and Flip phones. They fall off your hand everyday,. They are breaking everywhere. The older Samsung phones were purposely designed with firm grip, and rubber grooves to protect from falling. Now we have FLIP and FOLD phones the opposite very smooth, easy slip off your hand. Some may think that It is done on purpose to make them fall and break or to make us buy expensive cover.

Loved my Fold 4 so much i upgraded to the 5. Ive had mine for about 4 months and the inner screen developed a line of pixels that run top to bottom on the left hand side that are off color from the rest of the screen. Just dropped it off for warranty repairs, so fingers crossed. Another issue i would like to state is that Samsung removed the finger print sensor on the 4 inlou of their new tech they installed on the 5. It was nice being able to use the finger print sensor as an additional input, but now its reduced to its basic functions, which was a bit disappointing. It is beginning to feel like Samsung is dropping the ball in favor of more expensive phones that, albeit, have a unique functionality, don't stand well against the previous titans that would have lasted 10+ years and stay relevant to updates and newer programs. I would like to mention my Galaxy Note 3 which lasted over 8 years with only one repair needed (digitizer failed) and continued to work great with newer applications and other web based requirements. Fingers crossed repairs work out and this phone lasts atleast the 5 years we were promised, but being real about the situation on newer smart phones, i will likely trade this in once they develop a Fold with an integrated S-pen that works on all screens. (one can dream, right?)
Update: phone was returned to me same day with the outer screen no longer operational and was informed me the motherboard is damaged, warranting out the whole phone. Shame.

I'm still put off from the slimmer, narrower outside display. Got a Flip 5 as my first foldable to dip my toes into the format, and it's one of my biggest gripes. Using the phone one handed, having to shimmy my hand up to the top of the screen to pull down my notifications or to change the volume is super uncomfortable. But maybe the even narrower display of the Fold would make it easier to grip? Also the insane glossiness of the inner display kinda forces me to hold it at awkward angles when I'm using it in a room with a bunch of lights overhead.
But even with all these gripes I'm still tempted by the Fold haha
You can swipe down anywhere on the homescreen to bring down the notification panel, no need to reach up

I was torn between getting this phone or iPhone 15 Pro; then I chose iPhone 15 though now I want this fold 5 as I often need to read notes and bible verses when preaching
My boyfriend has Z Fold 3 and it is still working smoothly.Perfect condition and the inner screen protector peels up but we go to the Samsung experience by the house and they replace for us. Very convenient if you live by the samsung store but if you don't then it is a hassle
These samsung phones work for years, maybe we can get out of the Z fold 3 for atleast 3 more yrs
This phone has been my favorite phone ive ever had. One thing this phone does like no other is privacy screen protectors. I play Nikke: Goddess of Victory daily; and the combination of a small screen, privacy blind, and slight raised edge of my case, makes it to where literally no one except me can see the degeneracy on my phone. And i have the larger screen and s pen for accuracy and visability when i have time to take on a serious boss fight at home. This phone is seriously the goat.

@@nathansstuff1547 it works flawlessly. Portrait mode has always been preffered way to play any mobile games. But being able to open my phone up in Nikke, and run landscape seamlessly is so nice. I will say most games dont do that seamlessly, but for nikke specifically, this phone is just that much better

You don't use it very often. If you did, the screen would have randomly snapped in half. I'm on my third phone in 6 months due to the inside lcd screen cracking in the middle under the protective layer.
Its a great phone so far. Its still new and durability is still a big question for me right now.
I've been using a Fold 4 since day one it was released without a case and its holding up great. I feel very confident that these foldables are just as durable as a normal phone

Coming from the Note family over the years, this phone is amazing and does the Note proud. I can't wait to see what the Galaxy Fold 6 has to offer. Once you get a fold, there is no going back to a slab phone.
After 3 months with this phone, my outer display stopped working!!! The front screen just turned green, and I claim a warranty with verizon. Verizon connected to my phone though a telephone call and diagnosed a motherboard failure, the next day I recived a new phone and sent back my old one. Very easy
