This is so incredibly impressive, I'm speechless. Just, wow. I'm fascinated by the way this character must be viewed by others, and by hinself now that he can't even remember how he got to this point. The crazy old man that nobody knows how old he really is. Richer than god, a raving lunatic, the only proof that he's not just lying about his age is that he has the skills and the knowledge to back it up. Obsessed with building grand temples and shrines, but with no discernable reason or purpose given his constant switching between widely varied religions, not even sticking to the faith he himself founded. Married to a distant relation who he kept insisting was his great great granddaughter for some reason, just to treat her like an administrator and put her in charge of his vast estate so he could focus on more shrines. Then at one point just quit his job as emperor and walked out, leaving the throne to an even more distant dynasty member not even of his own house. Some time later he just got on a boat and set sail for the West and was gone for years. People assumed he was shipwrecked at sea and some people mourned him (but not for long because shortly after everyone who remembered him had all either died or gone numb to grief after losing a third of the population to the Black Death). But clearly he must've found some land out there because he did return years later after the plague died down again. (This story would later inspire one Christopher Columbus to find the land Flamel must have visited). Collecting potions and various knickknacks (discarding or keeping masterworks with no apparent rhyme or reason) from all over, finally settling down as a hermit in Paris to set up a laboratory to keep them all filled and in good condition. Built a strange monument of glass that was then never found again in the city, converted first to Zoroastrian then Hindu and became a vegetarian, and started participating in wrestling tournaments and sharing wisdom with people, from a gigantic tome he'd kept on him at all times. Truly the character of all time, no one knew what to make of him by the end, least of all himself. All he knows is that for as long as he can remember, he's been terrified of death, and doing everything in his power, chasing every lead, every fable, every legend, in order to flee from it, to keep just ahead of it at every turn. Sometimes, when he tries to remember what caused it, he sees flashes of a dungeon, the face a liege from a land he can't remember who had slapped down his youthful rebellion like he was a an insignificant gnat, and he remembers true terror, a desperate need to ESCAPE-
That was a crazy Story to complete the one I tried to create! Thanks for sharing and definetly let me know if you have any other ideas (maybe other ck3 runs) because you are really very creative with it! It is really that what makes ck3 so much fun imo
@thestudentYT ahh thank you, I enjoy making a story to go with the events of the game, definitely one of the strong points of CK3 for sure! As for ideas of other runs, I wouldn't really know what would make a good video, but to keep with the creative use of game mechanics that has a real challenge as an end goal, you could do a kind of traveling dynasty theme? With the goal of creating a culture that resulted from hybridizing with one culture from every heritage group in the game. Lore wise you'd be a dynasty that is probably a family of merchants by origin, wanting to establish themselves in as many regions as possible. And trade is so much easier if you're flexible, quick to adapt to local cultural traditions. So the dynasty spread out far and wide, enmeshing themselves in local cultures, learning and adapting, until eventually they come together to create a culture that has incorporated every heritage (with the advantage of gathering many region specific innovations). Mechanically speaking I'm not sure how viable it is though. There's 43 heritage groups (existing, not counting historical heritages like gothic or hunnic), so unless you can manage to find a way to have your dynasty members create their own hybrid cultures regularly out of hybrid cultures they already created earlier, you'd have to turn off the hybrid culture cooldown which disables achievements, because with a 25 year cooldown you'd need 1050 years if you go one by one in a chain (only hybridizing with non-hybridized cultures). However, if you do know of a way to reliably get your dynasty to create their own hybrid cultures out of hybrid cultures (or are somehow able to manage keeping 2 or 3 separate hybridization chains going simultaneously either through constant successions to different culture branches of the dynasty or through swapping capitals back and forth and switching to local cultures) then I would love to be proven wrong about the achievements!

Honestly the best part is thius is just normal inted play... By a master at CK3 opfcorse but still... Not only that unlike world conquest and extremely hard challange runs this playthough was very normal and very balnced and can't be abused to ruin online play... Like I really don't see how being immortal in this sense can be abused to do anything more that CK3 dynasty/family/governing systems can be... And that is the entire concept of the CK series so can't be "fixed" unlike with out a dioudt paradox wwants imortalty to be... But I can't think of any way that can patcgh this out with out ruining the game... Like they could hard cap ages but that is stupid as tgheir is always that one guy who lives way longer then he should have bu\t juyst has OP genes... They could cap bonuses fro stacks... That has the exact same problem and negates all the events and all the main fun with the CK3 DLC so far... Also what would be the point of hunting events and items if they are just fun secerts to you? So yeah congrats on creating a nbew polay style based on something paradox hates now and calles cheating like even cheating matters in CK3 anyway beyond random online campaigns...
Hi there. I'm trying to recreate the run in my own game and I have a question. I started this afternoon and everything was fine, until I got stuck at a certain part. At 7:20 you can see the custom character with only 3 prestige so that in 5 months after the death of his mother (7:45) he has 450 more prestige. How did you do this? I did a quick search on reddit and in principle the heirs do not inherit any prestige upon the death of their parents. That extra prestige is essential to raise the fame level and conquer the county as soon as possible. I hope you can answer this comment as soon as possible to help me and the rest of the people who may have this question in the future. Otherwise, excellent video and new subscriber. Bye!
I asked him to pay me Money back as I had a Hook on him (same as for adventurer patrons) and that gave him prestige in return... Otherwise the way to go is just to complete a few contracts as that will bring your prestige up very easy and fast if you don't chose the schemes because they take way to much time Also I cannot really recommend to reproduce that run because this was my 6th different strategy and in that strategy I had a lot of restarts as well as the first 15 years really have to work PERFECT to be able to build the first Shrine on time... (and that involves a lot of smaller tricks like catching the same lords over and over again in one war to gain more ransom Money, or chosing the exactly right lifestyle perks in the perfect order) So I am not joking when I say that this took me hundreds of hours until I really knew what I was doing here... so please don't be to disencouraged if it doesn't work out for you... okay? XD
I was Infirm but it didn't matter because that is actually countered by the "disease resistance" modifiers... anyways I also lost the trait like 10 years before the end by entering a haunted mansion and getting healed by a witch
One time I got the event "knowing yourself" to early but apart from that not at all because I only was consistently below 3 health for the last 10 years... so the chance wasn't really that bad
3:10 does lunatic worth it ? + ur missing on strengthen dynasty thing which gives really good bonuses including health boost plus you could have gotten witch for disase resistance against infirm etc
I couldn't get strenghten bloodline anyways because taking "quick" and "comely" traits would have been WAY to much points anyways... also that is why I let an AI of my Dynasty click that decision later so I actually had all of these Bonuses AND being Lunatic for building the Glass Monument... And also I had way more than enough "disease resistance" modifiers as well so becoming a witch wouldn't have changed anything at all (literally)
Most content on ck3 is incredibly dull, but this video was actually interesting and I even learnt few new things(except for cheesing ofc). Well done sir Also hardbeats between chapters is hilarious
It is sadly only a "disease resistance" boost that doesn't counter health loss from aging, so it doesn't matter really (Except you get cancer or something)
This is crazy! If this man was real, trying to understand his actions would drive many people insane in their quest for immortality lmao. Also, any reason you made same-sex relations criminal when creating the religion?
I always try to make as many things criminal as possible so that there are more possible hooks and secrets to use when needed (also for money) I think in most religions it would have been the default but aparantly in Taoist it was set to allowed by default So no ideologic reason here, anyone who thinks like that in real life nowdays is not more than a moron honestly so no worries :)
Trying to recreate the run and it's great fun (and very challenging). I made it into my 40th and the only annoying thing now is the 50% chance of the shines not showing up. I guess save scumming (copy paste save files) is the only way dealing with this, or did you have some other tricks up your sleeves? Oh, and by the way thank you for this video! It gave me a reason to play CK3 again after having done everything 😃
I have another question if you don't mind. When you convert to Taoism, you can no longer be guardian of a Catholic Holy Sight, so what is the point? Yes, you get two extra domains, but can no longer build Shrines.
I see, but you have to own a Taoist Holy Site to do that, right? Guess I need to start Colonizing the Far East then. Oh well... I didn't expect it to be easy, lol.😂
I saw a few other videos over the last few months and then when I saw the Landless Adventurer Update came out I just thought, man now something like that might actually be possible :) After all Ck3 maybe has lost track of all the modifier they kept adding in the last few patches XD
Wait, couldn't you make an immortal 100 stat character and just switch to him when switching to another character because I think only your character cannot go past that 400 point limit for the achievements to be enabled

Best video about ck3 ever😮
Wait, so they added immortality back and didn't add a way to get it fairly? Why add it in the first place then?
For people who don't care about cheating and want to play an immortal Highlander I guess
Thats the most german accent ive ever heard 😂 great video, subscribed!
awesome vid
This is fantastic! +1
Not going to lie, those sunglasses are tough af
Otherwise the way to go is just to complete a few contracts as that will bring your prestige up very easy and fast if you don't chose the schemes because they take way to much time
Also I cannot really recommend to reproduce that run because this was my 6th different strategy and in that strategy I had a lot of restarts as well as the first 15 years really have to work PERFECT to be able to build the first Shrine on time... (and that involves a lot of smaller tricks like catching the same lords over and over again in one war to gain more ransom Money, or chosing the exactly right lifestyle perks in the perfect order)
So I am not joking when I say that this took me hundreds of hours until I really knew what I was doing here... so please don't be to disencouraged if it doesn't work out for you... okay? XD
im not a CK3 enjoyer but this is fantastic!
My mom just told me this was a Harry Potter reference
Flamel was a real Alchemist Legend that J.K. Rowling took as an Inspiration to create a Character called Nicolas Flamel in Harry Potter
Well played
Thanks
I was wondering how did your character avoid getting infirm? Mine usually got it when they were 50-60 y/o.
I was Infirm but it didn't matter because that is actually countered by the "disease resistance" modifiers... anyways I also lost the trait like 10 years before the end by entering a haunted mansion and getting healed by a witch
This is actually nuts
How many times did you save scum your death?
One time I got the event "knowing yourself" to early but apart from that not at all because I only was consistently below 3 health for the last 10 years... so the chance wasn't really that bad
Why video is not popular?
I would like to know that as well xD
@@thestudentYT We will make it popular.
Well done sir
Also hardbeats between chapters is hilarious
Ngl I want to see a continuation of this in eu4.
He would die within a year though xD
Should have picked up stubborn for the slight health boost
It is sadly only a "disease resistance" boost that doesn't counter health loss from aging, so it doesn't matter really (Except you get cancer or something)
Now go from 762 (ed.: 867) in a single life
you mean 867?
@@thestudentYTIt's the only correct start date as it lets you play the game for longer. :)
@@thestudentYT yeah, 867
not my brightest moment, it somehow mixed in my head with 769 start date of CK2
Does this require some DLC for Adventurers or the "Story"? What all DLCs does this require?
Yeah I think the last two are definetly needed for that
This is crazy! If this man was real, trying to understand his actions would drive many people insane in their quest for immortality lmao.
Also, any reason you made same-sex relations criminal when creating the religion?
I always try to make as many things criminal as possible so that there are more possible hooks and secrets to use when needed (also for money)
I think in most religions it would have been the default but aparantly in Taoist it was set to allowed by default
So no ideologic reason here, anyone who thinks like that in real life nowdays is not more than a moron honestly so no worries :)
Yeah savesumming or becoming really big very fast because then it spreads to Tier 3 in 5 years and then it's 100% chance
Thank you for your reply. I am having great fun 🙂
I have another question if you don't mind. When you convert to Taoism, you can no longer be guardian of a Catholic Holy Sight, so what is the point? Yes, you get two extra domains, but can no longer build Shrines.
@@MrOyvindrs become guardian of the Taoist Holy Site xD
I see, but you have to own a Taoist Holy Site to do that, right? Guess I need to start Colonizing the Far East then. Oh well... I didn't expect it to be easy, lol.😂
Will you please post the entire run in 4 hour chunks?
I haven't recorded the entire run XD
That would have been like 1TB of Data
@thestudentYT bummer! I would have loved to watch it as a let's play
How did you get illustrious elixir?
Good inspirations
Amazing!!
Thanks!
Incredible
Awesome I had no idea you coiled get anywhere close! How did you figure it out ?d
I saw a few other videos over the last few months and then when I saw the Landless Adventurer Update came out I just thought, man now something like that might actually be possible :)
After all Ck3 maybe has lost track of all the modifier they kept adding in the last few patches XD
> *"The Man of Glass"*
>Lasts for hundreds of years.
>Wrestles people a *fraction* of his age.
What a world.
haha you are a mad man! Good job!
Deine Zwischen-Musik ist gerades Feuer, Bruder. Weißt du, wie sie heißt?
Wait, couldn't you make an immortal 100 stat character and just switch to him when switching to another character because I think only your character cannot go past that 400 point limit for the achievements to be enabled
I tried something like that but I think it didn't work if you didn't hit "play" as one existing custom character
I’ve got my character at age 98 before..
