  • CARNIVAL MAKING A CHANGE IN EVERY STATEROOM SOME LIKE AND SOME HATE.
It's not easy to please everyone. carnival cruise line is finding that out as they are making a change to every stateroom on their ship. It seems like a simple idea but has many people complaining they don;t want this in their staterooms at all.

There is an easy solution to satisfy both parties. Give us the option of turning them on or off. Something along the lines of say a light switch.😊

KimberlyStephenson-FL... I agree... but with the stipulation that if you turn off the switch and get hurt walking to the bathroom at night, you can't blame it on the Cruise line, have to pay for medical attention if needed and can't sue them.

I love the idea! For decades we would leave the bathroom light on and the door left ajar, for a night light. Which was real handy if you were on the top bunk. When I sailed solo I would leave the TV on the channel of the ship cam, with the sound muted, for a night light.

Oh for the love..... get an eyemask. My hotel room had this last weekend.
Here's the thing.... the cruise lines (and hotels) are getting sued for injuries. If you are that sensitive to light, wear an eye mask. Seriously. Actually sleeping with an eye mask helps keep your eyes from drying out so even if you don't need pitch dark, having an eye mask will keep your eyes happy.
They are SO low level.....it really IS dumb to complain about it.
I swear....the pissy things that people complain about on cruise ships.... you're on a cruise ship and are in the very privileged class to be there. Get an eye mask for $10 or quit making up shizz to be upset about. Or both!

We always cruise with a nightlight they are practical. However if Carnival is planing on installing a night light sensor like they have on Princess this is a horrible idea. The night light sensor on Princess engages the overhead light between the closet area and the bathroom door. It light up the whole cabin like a napalm explosion. When cruising on Princess I bring a nightlight and a roll of masking tape and the first I do when I get in my cabin is tape off this sensor. I convinced the idiot who came up with this nightlight solution has never tried to sleep in a Princess cabin. Please Carnival leave well enough alone.

It’s all in the implementation. If they’re installed low and pointed down to softly illuminate only the floor with a switch to leave it off, that could be tolerable. If it comes on in your eyes at intensity 10, that’s no!

Just got off the Eurodam. There was the most handy light in the bathroom ceiling. So happy with that, we used it at night to brighten up the stateroom as we slept. Propped the door open so it shone into the room. 😁
