The woman who posted tampering with water on a Carnival Cruise Ship and was banned, is complaining it was just a joke. Can't we joke any more? Here's why Carnival says that joke just isn't funny but harmful.
She deserves to be banned from all cruise lines. It was not funny nor appropriate
No other cruise line would do that. If that happened, she could easily sue for discrimination, filing on behalf of the “presumed innocent until proven guilty” protected class of American citizens. Carnival can ban her because she allegedly violated the cruise contract she signed.
Of course they want to say it was a joke - trying to get out of the stupidity of what they did.

I agree, Tik Tok has not only lowered thought processes it's also lowered standards of decency. This sort of thing is becoming a badge of honour for the perpetrators. So long as they get their social media fixes, this will continue.

They went to an Apple store to film themselves breaking the iPhones on display. Needless to say, the kids' parents had to pay for the phones they destroyed. Why they didn't think this wasn't a bad thing to do, I have no clue. No, I do have a clue... it's all about them and that overrides common sense or respect for others

Tampering with products is a federal offense 18 USC 1635. This woman has more to worry about than being banned from Carnival. It also adds credence to the stigma that Carnival cruisers are idiots and slime. I’m not saying it’s true and I’m a carnival stockholder though I never cruise carnival so I have a small stake in carnival doing well. That said what was done is not only wrong, it’s illegal. Suffice it to say these people have forever sealed their fate as complete idiots.

I saw that video and i didnt think that was a joke.
If it was a joke, and I'm not convinced it was, it wasn't funny. But then again, there are a lot of people who don't have a good idea of what is funny. Seems more like a troll to me. She wanted a reaction. And she got it.
This story really hit a nerve. I was a nurse in Chicago in 1982 during the Tylenol cyanide poisonings where 8 people died. It was a scary time. How would she like to have somebody tamper with her food, water, or meds?

You are confused. The higher charge on water is on the pre-ordered water (16 oz case of water). Not on the bottle in cabin.

So how can the cruise lines ensure we are getting water bottled in our rooms that haven’t been tampered with? Can they put a sticker seal across the cap that you have to break in order to open?

In you prank a friend on video (staged or real), you only affect your friend. If you pretend to leave a compromised water bottle or ice cream jar for unknown people to take, it ceases to be joke because it afects everyone who loses confidence that the products are safe to drink/buy. Your video may be staged and you didn't leave compromised bottle /ice creeam, but you inspire coopycats who might leave the compromised bottle/jar thinking your video was for real.
This is someone who never had consequences growing up. I guess she will learn now.

I was going on a port excursion and we had to pay for the water when we left the ship. I couldn’t believe they couldn’t supply the water because the excursion was $$$ . Oh, well.
You CANNOT joke about having a bomb in an airport. Jokes that can potentially harm others are not funny. Do not joke about serious matters.
This is no different then joking about hurting someone on a plane or you have a bomb. About 30 years ago stationed overseas, we were warned long before the shoe bombing and 911 that we should never make jokes about explosives or carrying narcs in our bags in the military terminals. Space A was not a right but a privilege. And you could be put in jail in a foreign country for making such jokes. DUHHHHH!!!! It isn't funny now what she did and wasn't funny then. Grow up people!

She absolutely did this and the ship proved it IMO, not just the video. IMO they were never charged for the water , that, is how it was also proven. I agree just to show how to steal is wrong, and yes, people are looking to sue and get free stuff from businesses. Sad
It's easy enough to figure out. Did she pay for a bottle of water? All they had to do was look at her account. I'm guessing they did, and she didn't.
