Fairly realistic game and I love the chatter. The T55 site is used like a choke auxiliary sight. Use the graduated site to "bracket" your target (hence the name choke sight) and tell you the range then align the corresponding line. It's the same for the Abrams auxiliary sight too.
Yep that's actually thermal but the US tanks had the green hue over it so your eyes don't get burned as much, and the "White Hot" means the more heat the object radiates, the brighter it's shown on the display, doesn’t necessarily has to be in greyscale. Also the "TTS" behind the Patton litterally means "Tank Thermal Sight". Nice to have you back we all miss you :))

Jokes aside phly if you hold space bar when the commander finds a target he will turn the turret to face it for you Edit: also all the voice lines you are hearing are coming just from your tank. Not the other tank giving you guidance
The thought of this game getting multi-player is both thrilling and anxiety producing. I keep imagining me and my casual friends cresting that hill and getting lit up by some ex-tankers hidden in the trees.
@PhlyDaily Hello! That T55 sight is called a "choke", and you use the lower graduated lines to determine range. Then you use the lines with numbers on them as the target points. There's different groups of lines for different rounds and the width of the line is used for applying lead. So if you "choke" at 1500m, then you use the 1500m line and place the center of the line over the target if its stationary. Also, the thermals for M60A3 and M1 are actually thermals. It looks like they're going for first gen thermals which were a lot more limited than modern ones.
yeah I belive the game takes place in the late cold war, so no modern thermals. but it's really impressive tbh that thermals were very nice even for low res. hope we get gulf war combat, even if it was a turkey shoot for the US

What i love about this game is the controls are arcade like to make it easy to make the vehicle do what you want it too and the hits are super realisticly simulated. 8/10 for controls, 10/10 for realism!
My friend does the voice for the tank commander for GHPC. and yes, unlike WT, the Fire Control System will auto calculate lead when targeting moving targets.
im a former Leopard2 Commander and was trained on ELSALEO (Elektronische Schiessausbildungsanlage Leopard or "Electronic shooter training facility for leopard") in Thun Switzerland. Its amazing how much better this simulation is then our simulator back then in 2004 :D nice video, thank you

Abrams and M60A3 TTS have thermals, it is just a green scale display not grey scale. The early Bradley in game has this freaky red thermal display. When holding E to range with the M60A1 you have controll of the optical range finder. Use the scroll wheel to overlap the two images into one image to get your range.
In the t55 sight there is a stadiametric rangefinder on the bottom right, to use it you line up the tracks of the tank with the bottom line and measure the range by looking at where the top of the turret lines up with the top line which is curved. You then line up the sight with the range of the specific round like in war thunder. I may be overcomplicating it in writing but it's fairly simple in practice.
I been playing this game since it released with my dad (retired M1A2 tank commander) and he says that this game was way better than the actual simulators they use in the army
On that tank where you had to match the two imagines. My dad had an old rangefinder he used for bow hunting. It uses the same concept. You would make the image as clear as possible. Then there was a tape that had the range on the side. Very crude but it still works amazingly!
It takes a bit of learning but you get the hang of it eventually. Remember that when the commander calls out a target, hold Space to slave the sight to the commander's view
This came up on Steam for me a few days ago; I watched a couple of vids and was sold straight away. It's proving to be an excellent title and so far even runs great at 4K res on my 5 year old PC (i7-6700K @ 4.5GHz, 11GB 1080Ti, 32GB RAM).
Dude I remember Steel Beast. And I saw something in the first menu that brought back memories. Grafenwoehr Tank Range. I was stationed there. Know it well. And the lead in the M1 is cool isn't it. That's real. And very accurate.
This game border line looks like a war thunder killer. It looks really really good. I love the voices when the tanks crested at ypu in your 1st mission and they all sounded panicked
the only thing i don't like is the aiming system. I know it's more realistic but it would drive me nuts. The gun doesn't follow the mouse like in WT. It has relative control
@@_invencible_ I like the realistic controls. In warthunder the relative mouse aim means top tier is just point and click, it's all about snapshotting which doesn't add tension to gameplay. The realistic controls in GHPC creates tension because you can no long out-snapshot the AI.
@Sui it's weird because the game runs fine on my PC, i have a 3070ti & 5800x with 32gb of ram on an ultrawide screen. im pretty sure phly has a 3090 with an i9 so it might just be that the game has trouble with the recording software
I dont think it'll be a warthunder killer, as warthunder is still very arcady gameplay wise. The same way IL-2 sturmovik or DCS hasnt killed warthunder
Gotta say, as a tank commander I was wanting to scream at you to use the thermal sights to engage. (The Abrams can do that.) Also it would be easier on you to move to a new position every time you pull up to engage.
I've played this since it came on steam, its pretty fun. I like that you can cycle to other tanks on your side if you die. A tip for new players, when the guy says "target right, traverse" he frickin means it, your crew chatter is super important like when he says "re engage" it means you hit but did not disable the target. You can hold spacebar to have the commander aim the gun at the target and then laser it and fire even through trees.
@@lxrd_cs 2k was never in service, so Leopard 2A0-A3 are possible. It could end up being a mix of those since not all were instantly converted to the next version.
Hopefully once they're done adding content they can work on optimization a bit. The graphics are insane but only being able to run it on high end systems could be a killer for sales.
Makes you realize how War Thunder is way behind graphics, texture and specially particle effects. That fog way on the distance makes it look eerie cool before the encounter plus the overall dynamics of graphic processing gives it that realistic effect. Make War Thunder's RB battles look Arcade in comparison.
This game is supposedly going to have multiplayer by the end of the year. I really enjoy this game every time I play. Friends will make it more enjoyable. Really recommend this game to anyone

tipp Press Space bar ones your commander sees a target and calls it out your commander will override the turret to the target if he is still alive Works for East german tanks to the dont have a crew voice yet but the system is still there so pressing space bar sometimes might help you find a target even in a t72 plus in the option there is a Invert palm switch option if you enable it you dont have to hold down RMB To move the turret in gunner sights its moves allways if you move your mouse after your done laseing and killing the enemy you need to press RMB ones to Dumb lead so your gun sights recenters with the gun then find a target keep it in the aimpoint lase and shoot and repeat i find this option easier
I believe that that kind of ranging with that sight on the M60A1 RISE is called coincidence rangefinding. It uses two optics to look at the target, and as you saw, you change the range setting on the gun to line up the two overlapping pictures. I have a hunting rangefinder that uses this same method
I actually just noticed that in the maps selection there is Grafenwöhr Tank Range, which is the US-Army camp located here in Bavaria, south Germany, like 15min from my home. Would have never expected to see something like that in the game, lol.
I think the T55 sight shows the trajectory of different ammo types in its scope you you don’t have to range find every time you change ammo say Heat is 65away and you switch to AP you can adjust accordingly without wasting a shell to rangefind

probably the 100th comment about this but FLIR on American tanks has a green filter like american night vision does. Soviet FLIR and also soviet night vision has always been black and white.

Also most of the more modern Abrams systems have the ability for the user to choose thermal display colours between green or black and white.

The Ai crew really give you accurate information, you just have to listen to them.
