Didn’t know much about the Mugen side of Honda before so it was cool to see what they do. Maybe it would be good to see more on the JDM tuning arms of the manufacturers
Sad that this is now in the past. Mugen is now dedicated itself to aero kits of questionable design and construction. Nothing more on the side of performance. For that you have Spoon or Seeker…
@ Torque GT, Jeezus christ just where on EARTH did you manage to physically see one? Rumor has it that now less than 100 of these exist!!!! Always loved FD2 looks and it's definitely timeless indeed! 🙌🙌
@@battosaijenkins946 I've seen 2! One in Scotland and one in England. There are definitely more than 250 still going. I only know 4 confirmed crashed ones. Most of these cars have ended up in Hong Kong and Australia with the crazy rich Asians :P
Love Honda, and a big fan of Torque GT (still got my DC5, thanks!). But this car more than many will struggle to justify the price tag. I know there are lots of people out there for whom £80 grand is chicken feed, but for a Civic? Even one as scarce and special as this? Don’t get me wrong, someone will pay the money, if they haven’t already. I’m afraid this is an example of rarity/exclusivity spoiling a car, it’s cost places it in the ‘store in the garage’ category. Who in their right mind is going to pay that much for one of these and then actually use it? We all want our own JDM metal to appreciate, but some recent examples have been ridiculous. To that end… New idea, Torque GT: car hire. Rather than charge £150,000 for one person to buy a mint R34, charge £150 an hour and let everyone have a go! That would get you included in my will! Thanks for the excellent service before, during and after buying my car, and glad to see your videos are going again. Maybe a tribute to the old DC5 would be good for a future episode?
Some very well made points there. Yeah cars like this won't be driven very much on the roads, never mind the track where this car was made for. Just curious to see how stiff it is on the road Torque GT? I remember when my brother had a standard FD2 and it was really firm on the roads here so I would guess the RR would be even stiffer again.
Not a fan of the fd2, the proportions are all wrong with a very short mini-vany front and the saloon rear. Even if there were 300 of these and many thousands of nsx, s2000 or integras out there those would still feel more special to me. Do like everything Mugen did to it though 👌
I doubt it because its not like a standalone car that was built from the ground up by Mugen - just a package essentially so doubt the officials over there would deem it special
This man has a natural gift for speaking. A natural speaker. It's fascinating to hear him talk about these cars. He could sell me any car that he wanted!
love the car and appreciate the explanation... but not even a drive or a start-up? track-focused car and yet it never leaves the garage edit: nvm. just saw the other vid, same channel
Glad mugen did their thing with this one. Not the biggest fan one of the ugliest generations imo. Aside from the engine not a big fan of this one. Id rather swap that k20rr in a 90s civic
@@Torque-GT definitely not broken. I got to have a great look around it on Thursday, curtius of darren & all the team. Had a great hour or looking round. You have some awesome cars. Looking forward to you doing a video on the CR-Z Mugen RZ 🤩🤩😜😜
The Ultimate Civic of all time. These will be worth a fortune in years to come 😍
They’re already worth a fortune what are you talking about! Only 300 ever made.
One sold to an Australian buyer 4 years ago for $220000 AUD$
@@shazboz that is insane, in brunei we only have one but the owner bought them in 09 for 80k bnd.

So glad you guys are back...you have some of the best JDM cars in your selection. I love every single one of these JDM cars.
What a fucking beast 😻❤️👌🏽 2nd dream car after the NSX R
S2000 is my dream car.
@@bige7186 How about all 3? :)
@@TheDalitis8 y not! That’s a dream ..
Honda really got a the styling of a number of generations of civics right - still look fresh today.
Absolutely in love with the RR, being it was the last TRUE Type R made.. Amazing machine😍
One of my all time favorite cars, a video of this on the road would be excellent.
They have one from a few years ago.
One of the most beautiful car ever built along side the dc5
DC5, S2000, FD2RR -> Best of the Best.
This is one of the ugliest generations ever 😂😂
Great vid, but it's Moo-gen, not myuu-gen (for future ref).
She is beautiful! My dream machine 😍 Shout out to Jamie for another great video! You guys should do Torque GT staff rides videos 😁

300 units worldwide only. 😭
I 100% agree that these are the ultimate civics, probably the only one I would own and keep for ever .
That's a bad ass car hands down and I have a 2015 civic si sedan My dream car lol.

Sucks we never got this variant in the United States
The Mugen NSX Type R. The prototype that had the engine mounted longitudinally. Or a Mugen s2000. Mugen Type R DC2 Mugen Type R DC5

This video was made to help increase the over inflated prices of these. Special car but its not worth 90k
Could this car become part of the show and display list here in the US?
I doubt it because its not like a standalone car that was built from the ground up by Mugen - just a package essentially so doubt the officials over there would deem it special
Everyone knows that the best honda ever made is the first one they drive , obviously.
This man has a natural gift for speaking. A natural speaker. It's fascinating to hear him talk about these cars. He could sell me any car that he wanted!
True Honda fan, no hiding that. What a car.
You guys should do a drag race with all these legends
These machines aren't for drag races and I really cannot understand why the Western are so fantasies on drag races that purely on bhp numbers.
Not a massive honda fan but that is pretty special

Last Type R with true VTEC
Currently own that era of Si; such a great car from the factory (minus the interior). I can only imagine the improvements made with this car
Show us what the Torque GT gang drive daily 🤙🏼
Coming soon!
Such a sexy ass car. I would take this over any ctr all day.
Wow next time take it for a driving review after the showroom please 👌🏻
Would like to see the CR-Z Mugen RZ please😜😜
I neqrly imported one of these when they came out for £35k...

Beauties! Especially the Subaru. I can't wait to see more!
Wonder how many of these on UK soil? Be cool to see some footage of it in action, but I guess it's so precious you don't want to de-value it!
Look up Mugen RR pukekohi. Guy giving one a good hard drive on track in NZ
@@vancehibberd1546 will do thanks
Awesome car. I would pick it over most Ferraris.
It's great but personally I prefer original mugen type r
Really nice car mugen RR 🥰🥰🤩💪💪
Hi was these for sale in the UK?
Only 300
Looks like a normal Honda to me
What a car!
Moo, not Mew.
Incredible.....
I’m supercharging my mugen si this spring! Can’t wait. Such a fun car.

The best is the nsx-r. The second best car is the integra type r. The greatest fwd car to modify is the civic eg
does it have independent rear suspension tho?
Obviously...
Shame the bonnet vents are fake. Amazing car otherwise.
Does the air intakes on the hood cause water in engine bay to do any electrical damage?
This over a brand new 911 Turbo S. Honest to God.
Definitely would love one of these in my garage.
Anyone know if the carbon pieces that were on this car at the auto show made it into production?
This and the DC2 are peak Honda to me.
True.... The best civic Mugen ever....
ooooooh just seen the price...
Favourite civib
I think i want it..
237 horsepower beating GTRs at the track?? This I have to see.
Badass car - but anyone else notice the broken drivers door wind deflector?
This is the shape of the Mugen wind deflector. The light does indeed make it look strange but definitely not broken. 😊
