Fun fact! Wrt chat’s “off-tempo” comment, every single enemy in dark souls iii telegraphs and then attacks in perfect 4:4 musical time, *except* for the Dancer of the Boreal Valley, whose swings are on 3:4 time.
While that works as a decent metaphor, it doesn’t make any sense to say that an enemy telegraphs in 4/4 vs 3/4 unless it is a rhythm game where enemies match the music exactly. Given that Dark Souls uses AI-based bosses that don’t give any sort of strong beat vs weak beak, their attack patterns will rarely match any particular time signature. A better musical description would be using stylistic adjectives. The Dancer, unsurprisingly, moves in a manner that could fit a waltz, with heavily emphasized downbeats in her repeated spin and flowing nature. Bosses like Iudex and Champion Gundyr, on the other hand, move succinctly and pointedly with flashy strikes, loosely matching the style of a march or fanfare. Source: I am a music education major

@@telhelki8338 I’m not good at these games but I picked up sekiro and I’m having a lot of fun I want to invest getting good at these games cuz they’ve always seemed so fun to me and I’m getting elden ring no matter how hard it will be.
Anri is definitely my favourite character (although i am biased since i have a crush on both variants of them) so it's nice to see shen shares my taste
I feel like siegward indirectly is that wholesome dad who's proud of what you are , his laughter brings a smile to my face
Wish she finished he's quest he deserves a good ending
@@inanis9801 due to the game's very odd nature of making the npc quests very intricate and vague, it was not possible for her to do that
@@PhoenolfMangaka she was doing it on twitch they could have warned her.
@@inanis9801 was is still possible even though she was doing greyrat's quest?
Most people when they play souls games: "this is epic and mysterious, i wonder what dark things await me down the road"
Shenpai: "I'VE NEVER BEEN SO TURNED ON IN MY LIFE!"
Watching Shen fall in love with the Fallen Knight set and the Farron Greatsword is such nostalgia. PvP meta really made this game feel like a spreadsheet to me sometimes, so I'm glad I get to watch her have so much fun with my first loves.
Now I fuck with the Aquamarine Dagger
Shen's SoulsBorne runs have inspired me to go back through this series to solo as much of the bosses as i can.
It really amuses me that Shen slowly became what all new players become, forgotten knight, irithyll straight sword, etc
Shen gave into the panic roll a lot this run, feelsbad
DS3 was my first souls and I immediately resound to a spiritual level with the demon greataxe. I beat every single boss with it starting with the abyss watchers, and yes Friede was a bitch but I tanked and traded so it was over in less than a minute
My introduction to Dark Souls was The Science Of video talking about music theory and how the Dancer of The Boreal Valley's soundtrack works, so she will forever be my favorite boss just for that reason alone.
33:56 this was the most mesmerizing thing to watch on stream. I'm glad it got a feature !
Great Video !
I'm glad you also fell in love with the awesomeness that is the Farron Greatsword. It's my favorite weapon in 3 by a wide margin, it's so fun to play with.
Out of all the Firekeepers DS3's is my fave, I just want her to be okay and have as pleasant a day as can be had, ya know?
The abyss watchers are my fav boss in ds3 and that have my fav cut scene and fav gesture I love them. Oh and fav weapon
YESSSS, The Souls has claimed em completely. From the beginning to the end. I hecking love this.
The music change between running from the bonfire to the twin princes to the actual princes fight is so funny, fantastic work editor ^_^
Oh, I can't wait for her to find (be told about) the hidden/optional areas and bosses. I can still feel the emotional scars from Archdragon Peak...
Nameless King will always give me PTSD
59:15 giving backshots a whole new meaning
I love how she plays this compared to when she played Demon Souls. She was confused and scared of every enemy in demon souls, now she’s literally chasing down enemies to fight them.
Got to love character development.
To be fair the she's still scared and confused but attacks first.
This has made me realise how much I missed playing this game
Calling Anri “wife” gives me conniptions.
Yuria: I can help with that!
Just gonna hide all the Dark Lords...
She never even did the quest too, such a shame.
for some reason reminds me of American Gods.
and considering the yuria ending.... "dead wife" is also fair game
Connuptials?
Im sorry
THE STORY OF YORM AND SIGWARD STILL BRINGS A TEAR TO MY EYES
HELP CAPS LOCK IS STUCK!!!!!
The fact that she accidentally found Mound Makers is fucking adorable
Accidentally my ass. Most likely guided by chat.

It took me forever to find it
God you gotta love Siegward's boundless enthusiasm. Stuck naked in a well? "Hello! :D"
Yaaaaas! I’ve been waiting for this video to come out! This was the first souls game that I completed and it will always hold a special place in my heart
I find it hilarious it was this video that made me want to take another shot at playing Dark Souls and now I'm an addict! So way to go Shen you made another armor lover outta me
Shen is really lucky to have started the souls pilgrimage so close to elden ring's launch
Oh shit i haven't even started to save money to buy the games
@@zenmode3125 the pirate's way is always an option ;)
I'm glad you enjoyed Yhorm's fight. You're one of the few people I could find that like him too. His boss fight may be too easy for a Lord of Cinder, but I love his character design and back story.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who instantly came when they tried the Farron Greatsword Two-Handed Combo, it's so God damn Extra and I still love it to this day!
I can't tell you how many times I've watched this and I just now caught why the music at 19:40 was so familiar.... MALO MART....
I love how Souls-Shen character development goes in this series
watching your gameplay of Dark Souls 3 is why i fell in love with Dancer, she's one of my favorite bosses ever
We know what comes next. The dynasty of difficulty, the pinnacle of parries, the smasher of spirits. Sekiro.
I get it was her first run and finding all the npc questlines is really not easy, but seeing so much content missed that I KNOW shen would have loved to see finished breaks my heart.
Hey still watching the vods of this still so this gives me moments to look forward to. Also o never got to thank you again before I left stream for the kind words and the support about my sister I genuinely had tears in my eyes thank you all so much!!
I hope she is ok whatever happened to her (yes i am still watching)
@@pokeymaster9415 thank you I hope so to
The main reason I hate Aldrich is because the person that was sticking out of the blob was my favorite character Gwyndolin. Aldrich ate Gwyndolin and to this day I’ll forever despise and hate Aldrich for that
The bit about Soulsborne lore and Vaatividya is so accurate omfg (and that's why I love his videos)
25:59 Blighttown round 2! Literally! If it wasn’t obvious enough, you can find a petrified version of Quelana with a pyromancies tomb in the area underneath Abyss Watchers, implying that Farron Keep is built on top of blighttown
YAASSS She has been consumed into the Dark Souls community completely....
let us celebrate this soulfully well! :)
Praise the Ashenpai One!
I'll bring the Siegbräu :D
Fear not the Dark my friend, and let the feast begin
Shen commenting on the fight with the Dancer and on learning to "dance" with the boss is actually accurate to what I did in mine, where instead of working like every other boss, I had to do a gradual back and forth with Magic Shield and my crystal longsword. Honestly one of the best bosses for me aside from Nameless King and Soul of Cinder for base game.
It's the first boss I learned to strip down for better rolls
Seeing shenpai with only a +2 estus in the second to last boss of the main game hurt me more than all of my experiences with the souls games combined...
I've done that bone spin a few times
I love it so much. you can just stand amazed for a while
