I have the Pro-Mod DK24 HH 2PT CM Poplar Burl in Transparent Black Burst with caramelized maple neck -- it's wonderful. The little toggle switch allows you to switch between parallel and series which unlocks really subtle tonal differences.

I got the hardtail one yesterday. I absolutely love it, it plays butter smooth. The guitar was set up properly. This was my first ever Charvel, but I can already tell that there are many more to come!

Seriously, it’s just stainless steel it can’t be that much more on cost. Just increase the price and I’ll buy. This guitar could’ve been perfection.

Why is everyone so obsessed with ss frets? If you like the guitar then just buy it, play it until the frets wear and then replace them
@@mikkonurmi5201 Aside from the obvious benefits of ss frets, another advantage that often gets overlooked is that they're smoother for bending. They're also good for people with nickel allergies. That said, Charvels are priced quite reasonably, so even if you add the cost of a ss refret, they compare quite favourably against other ss fret options on the market.

I just tried the desert sand at my local guitar center and it easily made it to the top of my wish list. Most comfortable neck I’ve ever played and the tones sounded great across all 5 positions.

Do any companies offer stainless steel frets stock ? Doubt you'd get that on a midrange guitar. My carvin has it but that's a custom.

Chapman and solar also do stainless steel frets. But fender and their brands like charvel don't.
I was going to buy this very guitar and have the frets changed but ended up getting a Balagure standard which came stock with ss frets.
Ss frets are becoming more and more popular I think fender and its brands should pay attention to this growing trend.
Personally I need ss frets cause of skin allergy to nickel and a few other metals hence why I'm banging on about stainless steel frets.

I own the transparent black burst and man does it feel buttery smooth on the fretboard and sounds amazing with my katana mk2.

@@Williaem00 its pretty good when paired with the right amp and tone setup but i feel the alnicos are a little on the sharper sounding side as opposed to a heavier chugging side. Its perfect for playing Jason Becker and Guthrie Govan style music. I would say for metal riffs, you might consider an esp LTD arrow as the one I have came with emg active pickups, low action, and sounds real good playing killswitch riffs.

Did you end up getting one? I'm also wanting the same one . If so how do you like it so far? The blue paint is very 80s and I got to have the single coil in the neck along with the Floyd. I don't have any guitars with that pickup configuration, so it will kinda fill a void in my collection.
My dk24 from 2020 has staggered tuners from factory, are these standard now?

Why the headstock logo is different position on some models?
I thought that was weird too. It's straight up and down on my DK24 Shell pink and follows the angle of the headstock on my DK24 Infinity Blue.
It's all fun and giggles until you start noticing everything the QC missed at the factory

@@1nzi exactly i agree,i like that new HSS white model that just came out why not a lefty version of that at lest throw us a bone charvel only has like 3 lefty models one does have a 24 fret neck but a non locking term but no verity in colors at all

I like the blue one but me and Floyd don’t get along to good
I used to feel the same way about Floyds. Once you learn how to set it up right it's one of the best bridges ever. The Floyd should sit flat and level with the body. Some recessed lower then others but parallel and flat is the main thing. When you tune up the Floyd should not move forward causing the string to go flat. If you notice that and it's tilting forward that means the strings are pulling harder than the springs on the Floyd. You then adjust the claw piece, just two screws. Turning the screws in increases spring tension. You have to have equal tension between the strings pulling one way and the springs the opposite direction. Then no matter what the bridge will come back to zero after dive bombs and such. Sometimes you have to swap springs or add one to get it right. I had a bad ass guitar sitting for years because I didn't know how to deal with it. Now I love it forever. Even though I still suck at using the bar.
@@jeremyshirah8293 I just got me my first Taylor ever.. and I got to say it is the best acoustic I have ever played.. I can jam for days on it and it never comes out of tune… if you want to find a great acoustic look at Taylor’s they are amazing sounding
@@varminttank cool man. Congratulations those are fantastic guitars. I have played a couple over the years at shops. They are definitely top tier and one of the most comfortable acoustic guitars to play. It will hold it's value well so you basically made an investment, so take good care of it. My dk24 in infinity blue is on the way.

I bought Charvel Pro-Mod So-Cal Style 1 HSH FR Blue, very bad quality and has not been set up at all ! High frets. I need to level and dress myself and frets buzzing - first fret.
