It looks good now, but wait until it ages. It will look even better.
Guess I have the 1.5 version (purchased in 2017). Looks like the newer one, but the handle is the old style. Also, no pouch on the back of mine and the straps look nothing like either. Regardless, I love the bag! I have it in walnut. It always gets compliments. Know this - it's BIG! I got it for an EDC. Really could/should have gone smaller for that, but I still carry it daily. Works GREAT when I travel and fly.

There's no doubt that Saddleback Leather products are top-notch when it comes to their quality and appearance. However, there is one problem: none of their bags and backpacks can be locked to protect what's inside. In today's world, thieves are everywhere, and they won't hesitate to snatch valuables from tourist bags. The best defense against such incidents is to have a bag or backpack that can be locked at all times. Unfortunately, this feature is not available in any of Saddleback Leather's products.

It's a beautiful backpack but the straps are WAY to short.
A BIG NO for me.. Feels like your cutting edges. I would like to buy the older tank in black. Is it still available?
These flat shoulder pads seem superior (and prettier) to the new tube design (because they slide down). (patiently waiting for a new carbon run of this backpack)
The saddleback design philosophy is (to make) the best. The redesign is a better version of the backpack, all the comments insinuating ulterior motives are a bunch of nonsense.
The girlie handle might make it lighter but it’s a definite no for me. That one detail changes everything.
The new handle placement allows you to lift the bag by that handle without the main flap being buckled down, not possible with the old handle placement. I'll take this improved functionality over aesthetics, but to each their own.
The older one is the bette design. The new one is just cheeper to build.
A big NO from me. Horrible redesign. Cutting back on materials and overpricing. New straps look generic... man, this company used to be amazing, now it strives for bottom dollar

I've had this bag now 2 years and I've never regretted the purchase. It looks better now than when I purchased it.
I love the video, but I'm a little concerned/confused about the Jewish carpenter kissing a child in the photo behind you. You have a right to enjoy whatever excites you but that is pretty creepy. Either way have a great day.
