I was in class yesterday talking to a partner about my frustration of how I can't practice grappling at home and all techniques slip out my head after training and he told me about getting a grappling dummy, so I searched it up and this came up and I am very impressed, going to get one now!
@@de_cbbleI own the smarty 1.0 and I love it. I’ve been going through Firas zahabis advanced basics. I’ve completed side control, mount, guard and guard passing series. Honestly I’ve learned more Bjj in 2weeks than I ever could have at a bjj gym.
I’ve been looking for a way to drill technique by myself because I’m not always able to make it to class and I’ve done a lot of research and I’m very confident that this will help me drill techniques whenever I want !!! I ordered one today !!!
The dummy looks awesome for grappling and even with the harness feels like this might be the best dummy ever, I would love to see your innovation on improving Smarty that has throw/takedown feature without harness. It's like (grappling)+(throw/takedown).
You can definitely practice trows and takedowns with the SMARTY, you just need to support it for entry since the legs are not designed for standing. For examples, check this out: ua-cam.com/video/_Sw_4--4QMc/v-deo.html Enjoy! :)
I just ordered an XL 2.0 one all the way to Romania. I train at Atos Romania with my kids. I can hardly wait until it comes. @Effective Matial Arts, you guys, thank you. I really can't hardly wait for it to come. Will keep you posted, dude.
@@EffectiveMartialArts - yes, i believe it is very well done. I got a feedback, though. You can make it perfect if you add zippers to the bottom of the hands and feet. That would be 2000x easier to stuff, un-stuff, and also reposition the stuffing, as it moves around after a while of manipulation. Over all, I believe its worth it. Thanks again.
Thank you! Haven't had much time to publish here since the SMARTY, but planning to get back to it as soon as I can delegate more of the operation! - Patrick
I’ve had my smarty 2.0 for about a month now and loving it. I was wondering if there are any plans for creating a workout using the dummy. I’m envisioning a workout full of sequences. So while in full guard, passing to side control, to Americana for example. Also different types of way to pass, full mount escapes, etc. Just basic Jiu Jitsu sequences. As a beginner I would absolutely love something like this!
Thanks for the suggestion! Indeed, we plan to release more educational content, but we've been crazy busy trying to keep up with demand for the SMARTY... Meantime, that's the real beauty of this invention, you can use it to follow along with virtually any video tutorial or instructional as you would with a human :)
Hey we have a video for filling the original SMARTY, but we're planning on updating it with some more tips and tricks that we gathered along the way. Coming soon!
im using a fav uke and eventually im getting this one. im so happy you made the best dummy ever made. you remind me of Randy Kewlus. he made a new cobra punching bag that kills even ryan garcias bag AND its cheaper. congrats on your healthy new daughters and Im looking forward to sending you a ton of money for this amazing invention. i was going to get the fairtex v3 but they dont prefill and your dummy looks to be the best ever made lol
Yes, you can! You just need to "hold it up" while you do your entries. Please check out this video for some examples: ua-cam.com/video/_Sw_4--4QMc/v-deo.html
The video pretty much says it all. The 1.0 was stil a great product, but we applied all the customer feedback and more to improve it with the SMARTY 2.0. Hope this helps :)
Standing would be a challenge given the hip configuration, but you can use the SMARTY Harness to support it vertically. Also, we already have the SMARTY XL available. Looking forward to fulfilling your order only on GrapplingSMARTY.com! Thanks - Patrick
oh i see it is the best one ever and you designed it. i bought one from ring to cage and now i am angry at dummies, so angry hahaha, but they took my dummy budget and i am stuck with their garbage until i break it unfortunately. one day i will try your dummy and leave a review if i can find it second hand and affordable.
I see, sorry you didn't find the GrapplingSMARTY.com sooner! Here's an idea: get the unfilled version to save and reuse the filling from your current dummy to fill it up! Hope this helps :) - Patrick
@@EffectiveMartialArts 7 months later and while i might keep the old guy to have a floppy one but i might buy smarty 2.0 and poly fil for christmas so i dont have to go through more old clothes
@@EffectiveMartialArts There are cheaper ones that are similar on Amazon and eBay. My issue with this design is that it seems like there might be some limits to how the arms are designed. Also if you are getting it unfilled it is harder to fill a vinyl dummy. I've owned both vinyl & canvas and from my experience a canvas dummy is actually easier to fill. I prefer the Jendila grappling dummy.

Did you get it? If so, do you have any thoughts on this?

How's the smarty 2.0? I'm thinking about the xl version
@@blueboat9581 it’s great. I’m 5’9” 185lbs. For my size, I would go for this model. For 6’ up folks, I might wait for the XL.

What about Judo, can you use it for standing throws?
Yes, you can!
Would I be able to practice some stand up grappling like judo and wrestling without the harness?

I bought the 1.0 version before this one was released is there a big differences between those two

I have one question if I buy the filled one that means i won’t have to fill it up cause I find that difficult
Yes, indeed! With the pre-filled version, you just open the box and your SMARTY is ready to roll 👍
Can you make it both standing and sitting in one dummy and make it bigger
Standing would be a challenge given the hip configuration, but you can use the SMARTY Harness to support it vertically. Also, we already have the SMARTY XL available. Looking forward to fulfilling your order only on GrapplingSMARTY.com! Thanks - Patrick
Very good dummy !!!
Product looks awsome! you sold me. Is there any kind of warranty?
We're happy to guarantee it for up to 6 months!
@@EffectiveMartialArts ok great thanks 👍
How long is the warranty on the 2.0 if it rips for example?
We're happy to guarantee it for 6 months with normal use! But given our track record, there's only about a 0.003% chance you'll ever neet to use it :)
I had the 1.0 version for ~1yr. I beat the chit out of it. I put a shirt and shorts on it. No damage at all. It’s built extremely solid.
Sorry guys ,I see you already have a video on how to fill you 2.0 guys, thanks a lot and keep, training stay safe…
Any discount codes to purchase
Sorry, we don't do discounts. Hope you can make it work!
Take my money!
Looking forward to fulfilling your order! 😊
Does this ship to Australia?
Yes! But only unfilled, due to size and weight restrictions on imports...
Best grappling dummy!
Damn, I just ordered the 1.0 thinking the 2.0 would be so much more expensive but it's not :(
Please email us at info@grapplingsmarty.com, we'll see what we can do! Thx

I'm not a Grappler but this is such a great Improvement and dedication. But I'm wondering why only 5 ft 7 10:00. Nevermind 1612. Good job
Thanks!
A grappling dummy is to bjj what a punching bag is to boxing.
I really want this guy but it's just too expensive and I already have a grappling dummy. I'd get this but id have to throw out my old dummy.
Worth it. Maybe try to sell the old one?

will lipstick and baby oil wash off of it? asking for a friend
100% waterproof! ;)
