    I’m still here till the end Your very enjoyable to watch. Light hearted and funny. You don’t take yourself serious and stress to much. Many of us sewist stress to much. My sister constantly tells me I over think things; she’s right too. So, watching you has truly helped me not be so serious and enjoy more something I love to do so much. Love your makes. The 1st white top, personally I don’t think it’s to much fabric, but I’m not wearing it. So as I always say, you do you 😋😂😄.

      Aw thank you, that's so lovely to hear! And thank you for the kind words on the white top, I'm interested to see how it feels when I put it since I haven't worn it in a while.
      PS I do overthink things a lot too! I always try to remind myself, it's only fabric, and it's not like I've ever had trouble finding more of it to buy 😂

      @@alwaysinthecraftroom be honest you didn’t think it was too much fabric until the ogre said so… and that I would say is more it’s not their style. As a blind older person who gets hot flushes and is extremely clumsy since at arm’s length the world is blurry enough I can’t see the glass of water I just knocked over as I reached to where it should be, or I would get a puffy sleeve in my food.
      Watching these videos in my clearest focus (4 inches from the screen where the text on screen is smudged) I don’t always see the small details but you describe them so well I almost can imagine them.
      I’ve been blind for 8 years and started sewing again about 6 years ago concentrating on patchwork but I’m going to start troubleshooting ways to adapt my sewing as I would love to start sewing clothes again.
      If you were to make the peplum wrap top again or something similar may I suggest taking a wide strip of (scrap) fabric to put round yourself and sewing it onto a waist band if you draw lines at various measurements you will be able to estimate and add hem depth measurements for future adaptations of patterns.
      🎉 happy sewing 🎉 and enjoy your clothes and learning and improving as you go.

      @@lynnenicholson6968 ha ha, I haven’t dipped it in anything yet… but probably only because it’s just beneath my elbow. Any longer and I would be doomed!

      @@alwaysinthecraftroom oh I’ve got the knack even if the sleeves are shoulder puff sleeves of ending up with a food spillage upon them. Mind you can’t blame that on being blind as was just as likely when I was fully sighted.

    Good on you for telling the rude ones off - watch something else! I love your videos and my daughter was with me for this one and commented how funny you are. I always know when you like a garment... your face lights up and you do a little shimmy of joy! I look forward to the next one ❤

    Hayley, I really enjoy your videos and good for you for calling out the haters! I’m seeing more and more content creators calling out rude people. Love how you’ve dealt with this, you’re hilarious! I also really appreciate you sharing the things you’ve made that you aren’t so thrilled with and why, and how you will change them in the future. Thanks!

    Hayley, you are so much fun to watch. I love your sense of humor blended with your honesty. I hope the naysayers go watch someone else. Your summer sewing is full of great pieces. Can I say you are right about trying to shorten the Odell dress. I love the white Odell blouse and it looks cute with the ankle pants. The other white shinny blouse is lovely and would look great with dark pants this fall. I also think your navy top is so great on you, it deserves some bottoms. Just because it was a scrap fabric doesn't mean it isn't a fabulous top. I also love the floral dress so I hope you get some more chances to wear it. Thanks for sharing all your lovely makes. Well done!

      @alwaysinthecraftroom  5 місяців тому

      Thank you so much, this is such an encouraging comment ❤️ I’m glad I’ve realised the issue with the Odell dress, I’ll report back! And I already have an idea buzzing for another Odell blouse too! You’re right about the navy top, I really do like it so I should make a few other bits so I can wear it some more. The skirt I showed is just a width of fabric on an elastic turned waistband with a walking slit - making another of those would only take an hour!

    I enjoy your videos! I feel like we're at similar stages in our sewing journeys-- I need to attempt a button front, but I'm going to start with your snaps with buttons sewn over! Keep it up! And ignore the trolls. A normal person would just think, "I'm not in the mood," and click on something else. Why should anyone have to be nasty????

    • @alwaysinthecraftroom
      @alwaysinthecraftroom  5 місяців тому +1

      Thanks so much for your lovely words. I'm so scared of buttonholes! I can do them but I hate it. So much opportunity to ruin a finished garment. Anytime I can sew a button over a snap or just sew it shut and pull it over my head I will!
      I don't get it either, why go to the bother of telling me I'm annoying 🤷🏻‍♀️ Oh, sorry, I'll change for you, some random internet stranger! 😂

    • @alwaysinthecraftroom
      @alwaysinthecraftroom  5 місяців тому

      Thanks Shelley, I just don't get why people feel the need to leave a comment. I know I'm annoying in real life, think of the poor people forced to deal with me, at least on UA-cam you can just click away 😂
      Oh gosh, the mike is the bain of my life. It does mean I can step back and look away and it improves the audio so much. But also, I am constantly brushing against it with my hair and clothes. I think I need to learn how to position it better, but when you're trying to 'show off' what you're wearing it's annoying to have it ruin the neckline etc.
      Also, have you filmed a whole video with it switched off yet? OMG when I came to edit that and saw silence 🤦🏻‍♀️ (luckily it was a short one!)

I'm quite new to making clothes and I've made 3 pairs of Style Arc Bob Pants before getting the fit I like....but now I can make the next pair knowing it's going to work.
    I've made nothing with knits so I found the T-shirts and vest tops you made very interesting.
    I wonder what your lovely pink & red top would look like with the navy linen trousers??
    Enjoy the rest of your week!

      😂 thank you! Isn’t it great when you have a trouser pattern you can make over and over?! It’s taken me a long time to get here so the excitement is real. I find knits really forgiving to work with, far fewer fit issues and honestly, unless they’re a bit curly really not hard to sew - give it a try!
