Taking Taiwan's bullet train on 1st class was an AWESOME experience! Let us know if you've ever taken 1st class on the HSR?
Tell u a secret. The drinks ( cafe, juice, water) and snacks (cookies or cakes) in the business class are complimentary and all you can eat. i usually ordered coffee with bottle water and 2 packages of snacks together. Try next time, the attendant are extremely friendly. They also provide universal plug for your laptop or phone charger. Very very good service.💁
Second secret. The cabin (no.6) of the business class is closest to the platform entrance and exit which you can fastest take and leave the train!👍🏻
Very nice. Similar to my experience with the JR N700A trains of the Japanese Shinkansen: ua-cam.com/video/H2B_cuW2Df4/v-deo.html
The 700T is actually an upgraded version of the 700 shinkansen with many advances that the 700 doesnt have!
Why not go to New China? which has more comfortable, cleaner and less noisy HSR. And speed will be 350km / h.
I didn’t know this until recently. Taiwan’s HSR is actually the first Japan Hainkasen export. The inside is almost identical. Totally LOVE Taiwan HSR!!
1. It is Shinkansen not Hainkasen. Follow me and pronounce it: SHIN! KAN! SEN! Meaning NIU-TRUNK-LAIN in sinoxenic.
2. It was actually a pity that Sinkansien was chosen as THSR went very close to bankrupt after choosing Sinkansien. Till now it still didn't recovered from it. I'm not claiming Shinkansen to be bad. Shinkansen is a very good system but that specific deal was bad. The next export of Shinkansen to Thailand was a very healthy and good one but Japanese people simply didn't offer it to Taiwan.
@@GyacoYu sour CCP shill 🤣
Clean and modern facilities, beautiful design, EXCELLENT rail system. Impressed. Greetings from Japan.
I have used the Eurostar from London to Paris a few times it is actually quicker than flying.
Nice video, don’t understand why all the non related negative comments. The host said it clearly it look 1.5 hours for the trip, since the train stopped at multiple stations, so the time includes the stops. Train speed various based on road situation and the host stated the speed reached 300, he didn’t say the speed was 300 all the way. I took Taiwan HSR a few times, it was very convenient; I did not have to purchase ticket in advance and never had to wait for than 30 minutes for the next ride. If I remember correctly some stop more stations than other which means take longer time, so you can choose. I took the new China high speed train to Beijing once, it was blazing fast. If you count the time going through airport, train actually is faster than flying and a little bit cheaper. I wouldn’t compare China HSR and Taiwan HSR since they serve different purpose, Taiwan HSR feels like extended metro (I went from Taipei to Taichung for lunch round trip, one hour ride about the same time I drive from Pasadena to Santa Monica in LA) and China HSR appears to be an alternative to airplane. Both are clean and comfortable. Taiwan has a lot of mountains, so train has to bank around curves and go up and down more than some China routes which means it was not designed to go straight at constant speed. So judge the ride with your butt and not coin. I wish we have one from LA to Vegas. Oh, I have been to India multiple cities many times and don’t remember any high speed train there. I took the Indian luxury train (forgot the name) once and it was very beautiful, the dining cart was a great experience and speed was not relevant.
It is so amazing read your opinion, you write by looking at some aspects, to see everything, when you have to compare, it was a good review, two thumbs for you.
You totally got the point. We literally dont understand why so many chinese here to brag their shits while the title of the film is "Taiwan High Speed Rail "
Generally it is related to the relationships between China and Taiwan. Chinese think they are much more stronger than us for all perspectives, and we must listen to them because we are part of China, not a country. You would find many videos that compliments Taiwan on its food or sightseeings or something with a lot of Chinese negative comments. They really got a condition, I think.
@柳岩 你这条🐶
this is our high speedy railway bought from japan. in recent year become one of usual traffic way fo taiwan peopple . my country is a best free country was named TAIWAN in east asian . absolutely not a province of autocratic chian
Good video. As usual, the largest noise generated by this video or flicks of this kind, is not from the HSR nor the vlogger himself, but rather from those hate & annoying comments left by '50 cent armies' and trolls.

can’t agree with you more!! they are super annoying!!!
very nice, thanks!!

This train was made by Japanese a while ago, only 4 seats & the design , the speed is behind Chinese Fuxing 400km/h at top speed , but still better than our Amtrak here in CA. it's like a turtle also expensive.
Do you realize it would make about 10 minute difference on a 350 km long track?
Yes, I took the first class of Taiwan high speed rail for my first time with my grandmother last year. And it was the last time for her, too. I miss her very much.
you looked so comfortable in those seats....
Bullet train is an awesome train to travel...🚄
Sabrina is so cute
stay happy stay healthy
love from India🇮🇳
This is my favourite train in the whole world, even more so than it's little sister the 800
It's our favorite too!
These are Japanese-made Shinkansen trains, so expect nothing less than what the Japanese have to offer.
No.1 bullet train in asia Taiwanese bullet train.wow.better than japanese bullet train.
Welcome to Taiwan
Kindly help me going to changhua pls.

Will be taking the train soon :) thank you for this video! Hello from Vancouver :D
🇹🇼🇯🇵
china, taiwan and japan all have insane high speed rail systems, just to be fair. They are all spacious, modern, quiet. Stop with the hate comments
Station and track design is Eurotrain
Japan won the bid for the train cars and its based on Shinkansen 700
Taiwan is called 700T because the track width is eurotrain and the instructions are in English
First drivers were Japanese and French and German
I laughed when my 1st thought was 'he sounds like a Canuck'!! Greetings from Vancouver Island
I also had good experience of Taiwan HSR during my several visit of taiwan ... taiwan Weldon
超棒的!!❤👍
The train looks like Shinkansen from Japan.
You got it.Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd which made most of the shinkansen trains made this.

The THSR is very comfortable, affordable, smooth, quiet, and fast.
Chiayi to Taipei only takes about one and half hour more,no need three hours.
A question in my mind, why the train looks like N700 series of shinkansen?
Yes , it's N700 Taiwan edition.
I will be in Taiwan this September to celebrate my birthday, i can only wish to see you personally
Nice ride. Taipei-Taichung.
Great content! 😁😁😁 taiwan! 😍😍😍
I luv HSR
台湾加油
This is made in Japan
Don't understand why so many Chinese are here to brag their shit while the title of the film is "Taiwan High Speed Rail "....
其实只要想独立的台湾人离开这个岛 到其他地方独立 我们会连看一眼的兴趣都没有
Because, for some bizzare reason, they seem to think they invented the high speed train, whereas they just bought from other countries and then made their own cheap copies, like they do with their cars, bikes and planes!
yes ,but our " cheap copies" can Compete with the japan machine in south east asia ,we realize some jp are jealous ,are not willing ,They made rumors to discredit China ,haha
some people Completely forget : A few decades ago, they also copy gemany's technology to form their Shinkansen,to learn GE to their toyota. a cheap copy worm island
真的 台湾人如果很想独立 可以向日本要个岛 千岛之国呀 至于能不能要的到 自己猜咯
I so wish the U.S. had high speed rail. I use the Metro Rail to go into Los Angeles from Orange County where I live. Then light rail to get around LA. No such systems in the OC. I rode the bullet train in Japan and loved it. Great video.
Everywhere should have a bullet train!
Thank you for this video. I didn't see any display which shows the speed. is it just not there or this video doesn't show it? Thanks
Another country that has better trains than the US :')
most countries don't even have a decent rail system.
Shinkansen complete clone. Cool.
Traveling to Taiwan in November and your video helped me decide to book business class on HSR. Thanks, this has been really useful!
This train made in Japan!!

Australian regular trains have extra large windows, more windows than walls, aircon is always on freezing mode and trains travel as slow as a bus.
Looks nice a nice railway system..
this is the first video I watched from this channel but I could tell this guy's canadian
o u t
I cannot help but think of South Park everytime this guys says 'about'.
Taiwan bullet train inside look like an European's bullet train. taiwan bullet train is better than Japanese bullet train.nice Taiwanese bullet train awesome.
Hi, you should ask your girl friend to change the frame 😋. It looks old fashion
who looks old fashion? the girl friend ... :}}
While visiting Chiayi, I got a chance to ride the HSR to Taipei (standard) and I was amazed at how much room the seats had, how clean and how quiet. One thing you failed to mention, is there are two choices of every stop or a quicker ride where some stops are left out. I think it's like 20 minutes faster.
How did you pronounce Standard Mandarin so accurately?
Love for Taiwan from India..!!!
My first train experience was on June 2016 from Montreal to Toronto and was amazing. Excellent video Luke, it's nice to see other aspects of your life in Taiwan!
awesome, the best!!
Thanks for watching!
This train seens to be very comfortable. Wow!
Go see Bullet Train! So much fun!!!! Nice review too!
Please come to Taiwan again
^^
is there free wifi on the train?
Anton V. Yes, but it's a little inconvenient for foreign travelers. Foreign travelers have to apply account in advance before arriving Taiwan. Then receive the account and password at traveling information counter at the airport or train stations. Please refer to itaiwan.gov.tw
I am missing the day what didn't need to wear the mask and could eat any foods in the HSR
I watched your Chinese bullet train video and now this one. What struck me the most was the terrible and noisy Chinese compared to the quiet Taiwanese customers
It's because Taiwan and china are different countries.☺️
In fact, Taichung is only in the population to become the second, but the overall development is still Kaohsiung second.
I'm Taiwanese, welcome to Taiwan!!
Hey love bronze color
I need somuch of ur help. Ill be going to changhua. Help me to get there pls. Taking hsr to its last station, then, what/where to ride from there. Pls pls pls

If anyone outside of the Asian region is confused by what is going on with those comments of "Chinese shouting at Chinese", it's because the China you know now and the China in Taiwan is basically two separate countries, much like Hong Kong to China. Virtually everything is different between these 2 countries, even the Chinese characters that they use. Chinese characters in mainland China are simplified from their original form, because the main supporters were largely from the labour/agricultural sectors, who were uneducated laymen and illiterate. They literally killed hundreds of thousands of teachers, scholars and entrepreneurs because they were "out-knowledged" by these educated ones and didn't like them. They also destroyed much of the traditions and cultures of the ancient Chinese, much like what ISIS did. So, if you want a real taste of Chinese traditions and hospitality, go to Taiwan. Btw, you could try the mainland Chinese high speed rail. Other than the fact that they are exact copies of Japanese/German trains, the experience will definitely drive you insane. (It never failed to drive me mad). Long queues, screaming passengers and filthy cabins oh god...
とても、明るく楽しんでますね。鉄道ていいよね。私も、海外に行くと必ずのりますよ。あと、市場もね。ありがとうございます。教えていただいて感謝します。
"Show you guys what business class is all abuuut" lol
值得鼓励
Taiwan's high-speed rail construction from 1998,Japan is now the only
case of overseas output system,It takes expensive construction fee and
Maintenance costs ,one day I used to ride only a dozen passengers,Japan
and taiwan government received how many black money?
So Taiwan is a copy version of Japan
Good video.Taiwan is a beautiful country.
Actually, there are 4 types of trains.
1. Slow
2. Fast
3. Faster
4. HSR
;)
Taiwan's train is the bestest.
In Japan, you need to take off your shoes if you want to use the inside of the footrest. It's uses the similar rolling stock as shinkansen but I'm not sure if the same culture adopted there
It's not necessary to take off shoes in TW.
Welcome to Taiwan
It's "business" class, not first class
Awesome HSR video! I subbed! Its like inside an aircraft bit more spacious. Worth a ride! I like to go and ride.
If Small countries like Taiwan is so serious about speed why large countries like India isnt?? Having high speed Trains in India will be more benefecial to India as there are so many far flung cities which if get connected by high speed fret and passengers will drive the GDP like anything.
ほぼ新幹線
Thanks so much for bringing us along! I love to live vicariously through you two!
Illy coffee?! What?! Much cleaner and sexier looking train than the one from China.
So the difference between first class and regular is a slightly bigger seat, a free coffee, a little 30ntd (1 USD) bag of nuts and a potentially bigger window. If you paid more than 100ntd more for your seat compared to regular seating, I'd call it a ripoff.
nice video, nice train :)
Anyone from changhua here?
Pls need help to get there! Taking hsr, to its last station (whats the last station pls) then what/where to ride going to changhua. Pls need help from someone..
台湾高铁可以呀,为什么不大规模建设呢,这么好的东西,能少建多少机场,少买多少飞机,还能培养自己的产业链
taiwan的好像是從日本買來的吧……
Good idea
I'm on this train about 4 times a month lately as I fly into Taipei on Thai Airlines and then work out of Kaohsiung which is the Zouying Station. The Taoyuan Station is the one close to the Taiwan Taoyuan International airport. The "Business Class" train is the same train as the normal train... Just different section. There is generally two different schedules from Zouying, one that takes just 1:36 to Taoyuan and one with a few more stops that takes just under 2 hours.
There is a handy app for booking tickets. I usually book in the taxi on the way to the train station unless it is Friday afternoon. Then plan ahead.
The train always leaves on time. The train is always clean. If there is no one from the mainland onboard, the business class is always quite and I always take a little nap if I booked a window seat.
Booking by the app cost a little more I think, but it is very useful and avoids the Q at the station.
Thanks for share!
I already try HSR once for my Kaohsiung Trip from Taipei. How much it costs from Chiayi to Taipei (roundtrip)?
These trains are awesome!
歡迎您來台灣
Wow another video today 2nd channel is growing Luke! Keep cranking these videos more entertainment for me lol
welcome to Taiwan Nation
How much a month you can get from UA-cam or per video ?

Honestly,Japan Shinkansen is much more better
You can't really beat the original
At the time the 700T was introduced, no Shinkansen was better than this.
English news paper is actually provided in business class, but they have Taipei Times only.
Taiwan high speed train runs much faster than China's train, 300km/h against 200km/h. The technology adopted in Taiwan train is much more advanced and safer. Wonder when can China train catches up with Taiwan counter part.
There are two kinds of PDL on the mainland : slabtrack good for 360 km/h such as Beijing-Shanghai and cheaper conventional ballast ones good for 200/250 km/h. Higher speeds would not make sense in relatively small Taiwan.
No turbulence! Is it quieter than airplane? You didn't tell us that you can speak Mandarin like a native when you read the station sign! $100 USD for 2 people? Lastly, how "short" are you? in feet & inches?
haha thanks Umberto yes certainly the HSR is smoother than a plane! I can definitely not speak like a native hah and yes it was 100 USD for 2 people I am 6'2"!
