Great job on the heat extractor install! They look like an "option" that GM should have offered to replace the faux louvers as a factory or dealer option. I'm working on an 84 Camaro Sport I call "Plain Jane." Definitely considering a mod like yours to enhance the aesthetics of my car! Great video!!!👍
Just found your channel, looks like I have a lot of videos to watch. I love this addition to the car. Thinking about buying an IROC and looking for ideas. I basically just need to watch your channel for all the best ideas.
Welcome to the channel! I really appreciate hanging out here! Cool, feel free to ask any questions as you go through them, I do these to inspire and help out.
Looks so good. I think I am going to find me a flat hood for the louvers I ended up getting ... The length is shorter than these and the trackspec.. They don't go all the way to the front of the insert but are pretty aggressive
You say they reduced temps drastically. Do you have some numbers for the coolant temps? I am needing some vents for my 68 camaro with a supercharged stroker ls3.
Slick, I always thought this would be a great mod, regardless of a blower or not, especially in Fla. heat. I wonder if there is any down-force improvement due to expelling front end air up and out, instead of forced under the car. You are entering 3RD Gen F-Body, Nirvana! Congrats, and Thanks.
Suggestion: take louvers back off. Place a thin rubber strip between louvers and hood to protect paint ( dont forget to add touch up paint where edges are you cut... 1st place to rust ) when finished putting back on put pop rivets in corners they are flat and paintable , and can easily be removed by drilling center. NOW you won't have the louvers tapping hood damaging paint in hot seasalt sprayed Florida weather. Let me know if this helps you.
Great build , been watching your videos for a while now. I'm too currently building a Gen 3 5.3 LM7 bored.020 with LSA supercharger ZL1 lid, Eldgen sloppy stage 2 cam. I was thinking of putting Hood Vents on my car to help dispel heat? I have a 1984 Chevy Caprice 2 door Coupe.
It really doesn’t bother it if I get caught in the rain. I also have some magnetic vinyl that I cover them up but honestly I haven’t used them that much
@@FireballMullet Well you're welcome. Really nice seeing a 3rd gen the same as mine is and will be. I'm probably gonna go with a pull out though. Either way seeing yours keeps my motivation up til I can get back on her. Also to what she will resemble. 😃😃😃😃
How is it a waste of time and money if it adds another cool element to your ride? Functional and it looks bitchin. Pulling my blisters off and going this route as well. Bonus, it helps keep it cool. I see so much heat coming out of the vents on my Zl1. I imagine I will see the same here.
The Camaro looks incredible!!
Fantastic job!!👍👍
Thanks, I really appreciate that!

Thank you! Yeah I agree, it’s pretty cool to feel the fans blowing all the hot air out them. Nice, sounds like a cool project!
Great video on how to install hood vents. I bought a set from Morrow Motorsports last year. They are great.
Thanks! Yeah it’s a nice piece for sure!

Such a great touch to a beautiful build!!!!
Thanks buddy! Time to do the new clutch and exhaust this week sigh 😔 lol
as a daily driver I'd be worried about rain. looks fkng awesome.
It look good, But going to happen if you run in lots of rain
It doesn’t seem to bother it but I do have some magnetic vinyl sheets I put on top if needed
😍😍😍 Love the car! Keep up the great work!!!!! It looks amazing !
Thanks man, I appreciate it!
Very classy build!! My idea of what a 3rd gen should be.
Thanks man! It’s getting there! Thanks for stopping by the channel!
Dig it. Plan on doing it on my 91.
Go for it man! Yeah they are a great mod for sure! Thanks!
@@FireballMullet appreciate all of the vids, bud. Rock on!!
The only thing left to do is install the vented front turn signals.
Those are in…different video lol
Very nice work
Thanks James!

Cool I think I’ve seen it done to the stock hood, should work out fine
Which screw length worked best to prevent a lot of excess threads on the underside of the hood ?
Those look sweet
Thanks Jay, I really love this mod for sure!
I love the IRoc I miss my car
Thanks man!
Hell yeah bro Thts one of the best mods u can do for a third gen love the car bro
Thanks man! Yeah I think that does it for the exterior of the car.
@@FireballMullet Hey brother do they cool the engine bay better?
@@lateroc2955 definitely! I need to get another odb2 to check temps but gauging how much hot air comes out of this, it has to be!
@@FireballMullet oh OK thanks man. I'm going to probably do the same to my 89 iroc
@@lateroc2955 awesome man!
Hi , are you able to advise the business who supplies the vents
That thing is sweet
these are amazing!!
Thanks Troy!
That thing is sweet .
Thanks!
Keep them coming!
Thanks, I appreciate the support!
One of the nastiest 3rd gens I’ve ever seen, in and out.
Thanks man, I really appreciate that!
Looking great ...as much as I like the new bumper badge, I wouldnt have one and let them find out the hard way 🤣
Haha I know man! Yeah I just like to at least warn off all these damn Honda’s maybe lol
That's outstanding
Thanks man!
You're very welcome

Awesome, thanks Dave! I bet it would help with down force also. Prevent that lift. Thanks bud

Thanks for suggestions! I didn’t film but I did touch up paint edges. Do you have suggestions on exactly what to use gasket under the vents?
@@FireballMullet make sure they know it needs to be 16th of inch or thinner.
@@FireballMullet i put up a website and i think they're taking it down . EPDM IS WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR.

Sorry i tried 6 different ways to put web page on here for you and they took it down within 45 seconds each time.
Thinking about getting those louvers, my only concern is getting caught in a rainy day, but either way your Iroc Z looks amazing
I’m getting some magnetic vinyl sheets to cover them in the event of rain like @GreenLightFilming did on his video
do you have link to the video your talking about?@@FireballMullet

What size screws did you use
The best beautiful
Thanks!

Those vents sure are spiffy
Hahaha! Great for grilling Hot dogs too
@@FireballMullet that's what the two step is for good sir
SIR! what happens when it rains when your parked?
I have some magnetic vinyl that I’ll lay on them when it rains
A few spot welds broke on my frame rail and are starting to separate from the body. Should I just get it re welded?
I’m not sure without seeing exactly what’s going on there.
Where did you get the LS3 supercharged badge? Sweet car

Looks great ! And when it rains ?
So far so good lol
Im from Michigan.. What if it rains? How do i seal it from water getting inside
I’m a LS it doesn’t hurt at all. If I had a distributor, I’ll would use my magnetic vinyl covers hood vents… but it doesn’t phase it as is
Maybe Rivet that corner one up by the blower
Great 👍 idea! Thanks
Do you have a problem with water coming in the bay? Like alot. Cause I know Florida gets alot of rain

Any issues with the Windshield fogging up during colder weather or mornings?
I don’t know being in Tampa, FL… I’ll let ya know I’m February 😉
I wonder if you used rivets would you be able to get to the ones by the blower?
Maybe I’ll try that thanks

How are these different from tracspecs hood Louvers? Thanks
They don’t have the center bar, so I can change the angle on the louvers. In my case the first few needed flatten to clear blower lid

How many hp do they give you?
I am sure it helped IATs but other than that not sure lol
did it reduce your temps???
Soooo bad ass
Underhood temps drastically... you can feel the fans blowing air out of them...especially when it’s stopped
Link to the vents?
