Thanks for the quality you put into your work.. proud to be American… Chevrolet The Heartbeat of America…great words I have on my 1994 Corvette dashboard above the glovebox area…LOL
I installed a cowl induction scoop on my 3rd gen for much the same reason. Works pretty well and has more protection from the rain. Good job , looks real good!
Nice work my man! I like how you checked your measurement after install as if you would've removed them to make adjustments. 😂 No way, I would have. Consider spray painting the cut edges prior to removing the tape. Again, nice work!
Nice job! I installed hood louvers in my Ls1 swapped 85 about three years ago. You are correct there is massive amount of engine heat that rises from these louvers. Very visible while idling at a red light. I’ve put almost 20k miles on the car even done power tours and never had a problem with rain. You can always carry a roll of painters tape with you if you feel you need to seal them off while parked overnight. Here’s a video of my 85 showing the louvers. ua-cam.com/video/ZrC2Znqw_cw/v-deo.htmlsi=nryGotWhWy7iplzU
Hi I saw your video on the functional hood louvers and I would like to buy the same louvers for my third gen camaro can you tell me we’re you found them I like the louvers that goes up not like the Spec
The ones I used are out of stock for 2023. The guy in Canada only makes like 25 sets a year. However, the Track spec Louvers are available, and I think Nicholas Morrow still selling a few louver versions
I like the idea…. Maybe recessing the perimeter to lay in for a more factory look would hit it on the spot so it doesn’t look so hackish. Welded in as opposed to rivets…. Idk … throwing out ideas to look more professional.
Because a freshly painted IROC hood would cost me about $800+. And I already had a Flat hood with semi fresh paint on it. That and the same hole has to be cut either way.
I don't think tay quite correct. These functional Louvers extract an extreme amount of heat from the engine bay. Regardless of how the front cooling duct work is designed.
@@K6GSXRider yes, they are just a design piece. But it makes more sense to get an Iroc hood and just paint it and clear it after the cuts are already made.
@@stormwickham1675it’s really a completely different look. Understand I have the z28 hood, but the flat hood looks a little different with these vents, maybe more custom?

I got some to install on my 84 sport coupe it’s a flat v6 hood as well, but the structure underneath has the same shape as the z28 vents 😎👍
You are the go 2 third gen channel . Nice work
Lots of great info on this channel! Love these cars!

I give you props for doing this on a non IROC hood I want to get this grill but i leave my car out side with no cover sometimes
I've had my 92 out in the rain. Doesn't seem to matter much. Modern engines are pretty weather tight.
@@3rdGenGuyI have a few questions about these cars because I was an idiot when i took these apart - Is there an EMail in which to contact you through
Look great, and will be hugely helpful.
It looks good. Its a great way to upgrade s flat hood.

they are from this guy from Canada.
he runs maybe 50 sets a year.

Did you put the insulation back under the hood?
I did not replace the insolation.
Could have used this video a year ago .. Thanks
Could you post a link maybe? I can’t get the website to pull up…

I'm using Inconel Rivets and held very tight tolerances.
painted any bare metal
doesn't really get more professional than that
So the question is, why didn't you buy an Iroc hood in Ice White? Just seems pointless to do it on a RS hood.
IROC hood louvers are fake and would have needed to be cut out to be functional anyway.
