There's 10 minutes of a guys life he'll never forget and the graciousness of Toto at al. was heartwarming all around. That young man won't sleep for weeks..Ha! Heck, I would have given my left kahyouknowhat to just to meet the guys. Good stuff, guys!!

The beauty of Steve as a person is that as a top level musician he could feel threatened by anyone else also good at guitar, but he doesn't and in stead encourages others to shine as well. And he sincerely enjoys helping anyone have such a moment.
Musicians of ALL level would feel threatened when one is sitting out. If they both playing and taking turn to solo would be different. Very gracious of Steve. It speaks volume.
That made me smile. For everybody who ever dreamed about becoming a professional musician, Luke just let us live it vicariously !

After this, I had the opportunity to talk with the members, and I believe that they seemed to understand it properly. Lukather was pleased when I talked about my teacher, Toshi Yanagi.

Met these guys at Niagara Falls CA. Nicest bunch of musicians you could meet. They even sang Happy Anniversary to my wife and I on the path by the falls. Love, Love, Love Toto.
TOTO is a band that brings happiness to the people you meet. They were wonderful people.
Luke even hit the effect pedals for him before the solo. Had his back the entire time. Great guy.
Ahahaha lol I never thought I could play the SOLO part. So, when I saw Lukather running on the pedal board, I felt strongly that I should not stop the performance, thinking, "This was a big deal!" Surely Lukather will play solo! In that sense, I think he switched the sound. That's why I thought, "I have to come out in front of the stage!" I was really surprised lol......I really appreciate it.

I follow and listen to TOTO very closely, I watched and listened live in my Belgrade, Serbia, back in 2006, I consider myself extremely demanding and I can say that this young guitarist played superbly.

Is a dream..!! My dream play with Toto
I'm not what you call a Toto fan, but love this song and have full admiration for their musicianship an talent, would so go and see them live.
TOTO is my HERO!
Toto, especially Steve, and the late, great Jeff Porcaro, were studio musicians who were in super damand. (did ALOT of arrangements also,) they played with Michael Jackson's BEAT IT. And also contributed 4 - 5 songs on THRILLER.
I think a rough estimate is they have been on 1500 -2000 albums. Country Western to Rock to Opera. Eddie Van Halen was in music video, but that was a Toto song/ arrangement. EVH had more public appeal. Steve was totally ok with it as he and Eddie were great friends . RIP.
Steve. I graduated between Chris and Josh Egan a long time ago. I know Chris speaks fondly of his friendship with you.

コメントへの返信、遅くて申し訳ありません。見て頂いてありがとうございます！私自身の演奏はさておき、TOTO、特にSteve Lukather のサウンドチェックの様子がとても素晴らしいですよね！当事者的にはその時はいっぱいいっぱいでしたから、あとで撮影してくれた動画を見て「まじか！すげっ！TOTO」と思うところが沢山ｗｗ
FANへの心のこもった歓迎の気持ちが行動の端々にあふれていて、自分もファンの一人としてとても嬉しくなります。感謝しかありません。コメントありがとうございました。この数分間、私の大きな宝物になりました。
ブログや説明で少し触れましたが、実際のところ、会場に入る前にスタッフに「一緒に演奏をお願いしたい！」とお伝えしたことろ、「ダメです」と言われまして。意気消沈していました。「ほかの会場ではOKだったのにだめなんですか？」と聞いたら、「ころんじゃって照明器具を壊しちゃった人がいて・・・だからこれからは断るように言われているんだ」とか・・・。「直接LUKEに聞いてみてもいいですか？」と聞いたら「遠慮してほしいがダメとは言えない。あくまでも希望としては聞かないでほしい・・・」と。
LUKEに直接お願いして、の後は・・・・動画でご覧頂いた通りです。
LUKEは快諾でしたね！ かっこよかった！
「なんであの時一度は断られたんだろう？？？」とは思っています(笑)
その関連でいうと、この直後、Davidの代打で来ていた主にPIANO（鍵盤）担当のDominique “Xavier” Talpin（ゼイヴィアー）に招待されて会場に来ていた小学生ドラマー●●君がDrumを・・・とか、他の会場でセッション仲間の○○さんが・・・とか、風の便りにTOTO来日は相当盛り上がっていたようです。いや、盛り上がりました♪
誰でも彼でもってわけにはいかないんだろうなぁ・・・とも思いましたが・・・
やっぱりラッキーだったんでしょうねｗｗ
覚えていないと思いますが、LUKEに直接お会いできたのはここ3年で3回。今年もう一回ぐらいは会いたい！って思っていますが・・・・。リンゴの来日ツアーも終わってしまったので今度は来日街ではなくてどこかに会いに行かないと無理かもしれません。
興奮して長々と書いてしまいました。

However, since it was from January 2015 that I became a guitarist in charge of the basic keyboard, so the day is still shallow.
