Fun fact, this axe has one of the highest critical hit values of any weapon in the game! Combined with the high base damage it does massive crits after staggers in PVE (flame of the Redmanes is great for this) or after a parry in pvp
@@monkeytoes1155 true! Just figure staggers probably happen more often in pve then parries now that bosses take multiple parries to stagger and it’s overkill on most basic enemies
Patch 1.06 is really showing strong in this showcase. Most of the buffs and nerfs highlighted in a very succinct gameplay package. The best part is definitely the invasion variety update.
i do think its worth noting that the cranial vessel candlestand is a great hammer and not a colossal, thats why the attacks were pretty fast and Chase was able to poise a hit with wild strikes
About why Chase staggered at 12:20 and him being surprised about it. When you do normal attacks while 2-handing heavy weapons, you get Hyper Armor based on your armor's Poise. And if you're less than 80% of your Poise from taking a hit earlier, it recovers back up to that amount whenever you use your hyper armored attacks. IIRC, you need higher than 50 Poise to tank a non-R2 spear attack. And Chase's 62 Poise from his armor is just barely missing that threshold when it recovers up to 80%. If he was more around the mid 60's in Poise instead of the low 60s, 80% of that would take him higher than 50 Poise every time he swings that axe. He'd be able to Poise through that spear's R1 attacks forever, so long as he swings at least one time in between taking hits. If he wants to keep his fashion the way it is, throwing on the Bull Goat Talisman would easily carry him over the threshold. Of course, that is a Talisman slot that would have to be considered.
What’s the point of it now? It does low damage for its cost, it’s tracking was it’s big selling point. I get that it was a problem, I just don’t see a reason to use it, maybe I’m missing something.

Hey Chase, loved the showcase as usual, I have a request for the next one, the Miquellan Knights sword. Its one of my favorites and if you hit the ash of war and it gets a stagger, the charged R2 will almost always hit for a nice 1700 damage. :)
Ah yes, the Dragonslayer's Greataxe, a nice weapon to see return.
You can totally strafe stars of ruin, tested it on duels earlier
I thought it was the dragonslayers greataxe and thought this was a DS3 weapon review, and for some reason my mind was okay with that and I was so confused when I saw Liurnia
The correct ending for the Executioner's Greataxe showcase.
Is it just me or he had not lost a match in years, 100%win rate? Keep it up with the videos.
iam so looking forward to a counterhit anchor build of yours
Great consistent gaming skills ChaseTheBro
Chase from now on could you mention how to get the weapon, and if farmed talk about how easy or difficult it was for you and where you would recommend getting it?
